Great place to hangout and have a few drinks, play pool or just enjoy the downtown view from their rooftop. They have a food menu but we had already eaten and came to check out the place. I appreciated their selection of mock tails. The bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable of their drinks. You could tell she enjoyed her job. She was pleasant to have as our server.

Love my neighborhood Eight Row Flint. It's not nearly as beautiful as the previous bar (RIP Nightshift), but it's grown on us, and it's now our go-to spot for a quick dinner or happy hour. Chips and queso are a must; the campechana, chicken pozole, and the salsa macha wings also deserve a nod. I can't speak on any of the red meat, but the beau is a fan of their burger (and the fries all McDonald's-esque) and the Thursday steak night. Most of the menu items have meat, cheese, or is fried (I wish they kept the quail eggs on the revamped menu). For drinks, Eight Row Flint is best known for the their whiskey and bourbon selection, along with their frozen bevs - the frozen marg, the rum-based "pain killer," and frozen G&T. Try all three with their frozen flight.Happy hour is Mon-Fri2-6pm with discounts on select food and bevs. They do have a rooftop patio, but unfortch there's nothing too spectacular about it due to the nature of the layout. It's not very big, no grand views, not much space for plants to make it a lil' oasis. But who knows - time will only tell if it's expanded (if possible) or if they add any sort of additional outside seating.

I'mThis was my second time here but first time eating. Both times I've come I was able to find street parking right out front. I imagine I've just gotten lucky as both visits were off peek hours. It was nice to sit on the roof deck and have a view of downtown. Be mindful though that you need to order at the bar so you will bring your own drinks up with you and your food will arrive shortly after. The menu is eclectic, especially for bar food, which I was very excited about. I was here with a group of people and we just ordered a bit of a buffet of things to try. While the all were very picturesque, most tasted rather average. Starting with the chicharrons, they were as expected and were served with a bottle of hot sauce to use as your discretion. The first batch were room temperature, but the second batch we had were actually warm. The chips and queso were good, with thicker pita style chips and a rather unique white queso flavor. The wings had a good flavor as well. I was excited for my octopus taco, but it left me a bit disappointed in both size and flavor. I was also excited to try the Oaxaca Fried Quesadilla, which looks like an oversized empanada, and was also rather bland. I also got to try the Elote Ribs, which were alright, but I think I prefer a more traditional style. Overall the food was average to good, but for the price and the fact that I'm ordering at the bar, I expected a bit more.

Causal chill spot to grab a drink with friends especially during Happy Hour. A major plus is that HH starts at 2pm which is a huge thank you because us mom's of littles hardly get to enjoy HH because it usually starts when we have to pick up our kids and do night time routine. Plenty of seating inside: bar area, long high top community table, all along the walls of the place with bench seating, and patio seating upstairs (although not ideal in Houston heat). My friend walked up there to check out the patio and lordy before we even got to the top we could already feel the heat as we were going up the stairs. It is a nice set up upstairs but prepare to have a sweat fest. HH menu does include drinks and food and I ordered off the HH and regular menu. Frozen flights was delicious especially if you can't decide on which frozen drink to order then get the flight. I also partaked in the carajilllo and that was a good finish to HH. Delicious and I do recommend to have as your last drink especially if you are a mom like me and need to get back to your kids. HahahahaBrussel sprout taco was not on the menu but it was delicious and it was small. You order per taco, so if you are starving then be sure to order more food or more than 2 tacos. On the HH menu I had the crab empanadas which were good and the hot sauce had a good kick which I liked. The sauce comes on the side. It wasn't wowing so not sure if I would order it again. The elote ribs were delicious! I tasted some off my friends plate and I had to have some to myself! There is a designated parking spot behind eight row but it's very very small. So if you don't score a spot there then street parking is your next best bet. I would like to see that area provide more parking or maybe even a parking garage.

Is it even a girls night without tequila?! Or is that just me?! Anyways, my point is, this spot is on point. I cannot tell you how it fares on the weekends when there's likely a larger crowd, but I can say that this was an excellent spot to have a few (expensive but complex) cocktails, some incredibly thoughtful small dishes and a few laughs with a good friend on a week night! Even on a Wednesday, I can see how parking can be a challenge when this place is packed, but nevertheless I'm super thankful it's 100% free (unlike downtown). Other than that, I learned: * If the tables don't say "reserved" you can sit there and they'll tend to you table side, no need to wait to be seated. Alternatively, you can sit at the bar. *The queso is a great start to a meal :)*The Chispa Margarita is a great (strong) opener, the Carajillo is a strong closer, and you can't go wrong with the seafood campechana, and barbacoa beef cheek tacos.I'll be back for the crispy Brussels sprout tacos!

The burger - get the burger. It's one of the better burgers in town. And, Houston is a burger town. Competition is stiff in that category. Eight Row Flint's burger is definitely in the top 10 conversation. We also enjoyed a delicious flight of their frozen drinks. Excellent margaritas. I cleansed my pallet with a couple of Lonestar beers. After which, I ordered a Blanton's bourbon. Oh boy, wow! That is some pants down bourbon! Whoa! $35 well-spent. All in all, we a terrific meal and memorable time with a good group of friends.

Although a little on the pricier side, Eight Row Flint is a great addition to EaDo with unique spins on drinks that vary in success. I sampled a friend's Casa Piedra Sour, which was a great balance of smoky and lemon. Think mezcal but with a twist. The OG ranchwater, on the other hand, just tasted like a watered down mezcal with some lime notes. No grapefruit flavor made it through that well.My frozen flight was delicious and the campari floater on the frozen gin and tonic was actually quite good from a friend's. My one critique is that the frozen drinks melt quickly, and leave a frozen-watery mix that isn't that good. So... Drink your frozen drinks quickly. The ring toss ($5) is a really fun bar game where you can try to land a ring on a bottle for a shot or get a consolatory High Life. I love that they're willing to have a game like that to experiment with different liquors. Overall an awesome place to hang out with friends and try some unique cocktails. Great addition to EaDo with a strong predecessor to live up to.

Food. Check! Service. Check!! Ambiance Check!!! The hottest new place in the Eastend of DT HOU. Chef Alli outdoes herself with amazing and delicious Snacks & More, Tacos, Mas items on the menu and of course paying homage to a fabulous Lady with her Milk & Cookies Dessert! They have a full bar to order from, and they have a plethora of cocktails to choose what your heart desires. Do yourself a favor, and don't miss out on these Speciality Cocktails or Carbonated Cocktails. Parking can be an issue so either Lyft it, or find off street parking. It's also right off the Coffee Plant/Second Ward rail stop (Green Line).

Enjoyed a couple tacos that were delicious. Also had a few drinks, the OG ranch water being my favorite. Service was great and the views on the patio were nice.

There's a vibe - it's just not our vibe Parking: There is a parking lot in the back of the building. It's a bit small for east end lots but we had no problem getting a spot. That being said, it may be hard to park if it's busier. There is a back entrance from the parking lot which is very convenient! Seating: There's indoor and bar seating. The first floor is a bit dim but in a bar vibe kind of way. We preferred rooftop seating upstairs. I think they may have an elevator that goes up which is great (we took the stairs though). Upstairs seating is mostly picnic tables. They also had heaters up there. Drinks/food: We just had a beer and cider so the drinks were about the same as everywhere to us. We also had the empanadas and quesadilla... They were not great... The flavors were off and there was a lot of seasoning on top that did not add to the flavor palate. Service: The service was fine. You had to order downstairs at the bar before going upstairs. Overall a fine experience. Nothing to really make us come back.
