Dumass Taco

Every time I come to Houston I come to Dumass Taco. I grew up eating here and it has only gotten better with time! Their homemade tortillas are to die for! The red salsa is *chef's kiss* perfection. I got breakfast tacos this time around, and then my sister and brought chicken tacos to the airport! I can't wait to come back!

The wife and I rode nearly an hour to try this place on the recommendation of a coworker. Arrived at 4:30pm, but they close at 3pm every day. How can you advertise you are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner if you close at 3? Dumass Tacos, a clever play on words as their name, or brutal honesty regarding their grasp of societal time frames.

First of all, I want to address the review about "not being of Mexican decent". That is bs. I'm white and have been to Dumass twice now, and they've been friendly and courteous to me each time. Check your attitude and bias at the door.Second, Dumass Tacos are good but not great. I'm not a fan of a Chipotle style breakfast taco joint, and would prefer to custom order my tacos. And by custom, I'm not doing an insane Starbucks type of customization. I just don't want eggs with my bacon, potato, and cheese taco. I was told they were busy and didn't have time to make the bacon without eggs. Kind of weird; the food is all precooked that morning. The tortillas are made there at the restaurant, which is *chef kiss*. The food is also fairly tasty.

This place is ridiculously OVERRATED. The fillings (egg, bacon/chorizo/egg) have ABSOLUTELY no flavor and the only thing good out of my $13 was the coffee (only took 3 bites of everything else because it was truly lacking that much flavor that even salt and pepper couldn't help it). The homemade tortillas are okay as well but nothing spectacular (it would be better if they just bought the H‑E‑B tortillas instead). 2 stars because the employees are super sweet and hard working.

They do tacos right! Fresh, consistent, ALWAYS on point. Friendly service with a smile. The location is easy to find and nice place to fill up on taco-AWESOMENESS!

Love the breakfast tacos and great tortillas!! The girls are always some welcoming as soon as you walk in.

My husband and I were so excited to try this place. We tried multiple times during their posted hours and they were closed. Finally got it and I was so disappointed. The tortillas were so soggy I couldn't bare to eat more than the top part. So incredibly gross, like bread in water.

Fave.Always fresh & friendly service. The tortillas are so amazing. Breakfast tacos are our fave, but all their food is good.

My favorite spot to grab something quick, very high quality meat and always fresh tortillas.
