Thank you so much for bringing back memories. I thought they were gone ever since they closed in Sugarland. Humble couple making high quality authentic Lebanese food! Give them all your business they deserve it!

Gyro platter - (3/5) meat tasted good, hummus was standard. The tzatziki sauced was rancid. Since we got togo I was able to wash the meat off and then reheat on a skillet. Baklava - (4/5) I liked the moderate amount of honey vs being overly sweet. Service from the older couple was very nice.

I have met Abid in 1989, he never knew me but I used to come to eat shawerma and date pastry, back then it WAS the best, so I decided me and my son to visit him, coming from California dreaming about the shawerma I had back in the days , oh what a shock! !NOT ONE CUSTOMER INSIDE ! ,he does NOT even make meat shawerma !!!! HUH WHAT?? , he gets precooked yērōs or whatever it is and puts it up on a shawerma burner to warm it up, unbelievable, he tried to convince me it is a real good meat lol, saw the chicken shawerma and decided to try it, it looked totally uncooked so he cut it from the burner and threw it on the grill like a stir fry lol is this how shawerma should be made lol??, not only that but he kept adding veggie oil to it on the grill, yes ON THE GRILL, OIL?? , I did not open my mouth, then he over cooked the pita bread to make it hard, MIH Man I am HUNGRY,ok lets try it, I was so hungry and had 2 for me and my son, did NOT taste like shawerma , it had no spices and dry from the grilling ,did taste like a grilled Fajita or stir fried chicken lol, so my son wanted to have lamb shanks and grape leaves, boy what another shocking experience lol, Abid complimented CANNED grape leaves lol, what a joke, it is Canned lol Not even made by a HUMAN lol, it was AWFUL, then the lamb shanks, VERY stale and has a game aroma and sulphuric smell, like rotten eggs since it has been sitting for a while, so I decided to order the date pastry, OMG that is NOT the same one I tasted in the 80s, it is almost BURNED, DRY, Little Dates inside and alot of FLOUR and Butter, AWFUL FOOD ABID !!!! He kept telling me celebrities come to eat at his place , We did NOT see any Picture of anyone eating at his place, Abid you are 82 , time to retire , sell the place and RETIRE ASAP! Abid kept insisting on asking me to learn how to retire like ME, I am 57 and yes I am retired, Abid is a successful Business man, VERY wealthy, yet does NOT know how to retire?? lol. I am confused, The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars instead of BELOW ZERO STARS is becasue Abid was a Nice person to me now, friendly and pleasant and a chatter to me, oh before I forget, the bill was HAND WRITTEN like we do in Damascus in the 60s lol,. The Cashier 'His Wife" totally lacks Customer Service Skills, No 'please', No 'thank you', No 'smile', very Grumpy . So we paid $34.80 for 2 shawerma on the grill lol sandwiches, one plate lamb shanks, one yogurt drink, 4 date pastry, YOU JUDGE, the next day we went to Jerusalem Halal Meats at 3330 Hillcroft St, Houston, TX 77057, ordered 4 REAL shawerma , 4 kabab Beef On the charcoal totaling $40. Masha ALLAH THE BEST SHAWERMA I HAVE EVER HAD IS AT Jerusalem Halal Meats, you will never regret it, Allah yebarek the place is full of patrons and it is Vivid. Sorry Abid We are in America and we all tell the truth, the whole truth and Nothing but the truth.

My wife and son and I paid our "first" visit to Droubi's last remaining location. The people we met were super helpful and friendly. This place has been in business for over 40 years and after tasting the best spicy chicken shwarma wrap i've ever had, and some amazing baked goods...I can see why they've been around so long. My wife got the meatball plate with 2 sides, we all tried them...really tasty and tender. The only thing we tried that wasn't quite 5 stars was the tabouleh. Definitely get the coconut cookies and the cookie with dates in the middle...you'll thank me later. Now I need to go back and try everything else. This is a bakery, deli and grocery store. They're in the process of enlarging the space allocated for the deli. The lady working at the bakery counter said they used to have 4 locations. We will be back for more goodies.

This is our go to place for pita, falafel sandwiches and falafel spices, fresh spinach pies, shawarma and more. The pita is amazing. Baked fresh daily, so many choices from thick to thin loaves, plain or covered with feta or Za'atar spices. Supplied so many family restaurants for so many years. Need spices? Great selection of Mediterranean spices from cumin and coriander to black and white sesame seeds. Making falafel? Check out their falafel spices. Grab a large jar of tahini to make a fantastic hummus at home or drizzle on your falafel. Grab a jar of olives, pickles and roasted red peppers to add to salads and sandwiches. Don't feel like cooking? Falafel, shawarma, rice, veggies and salads are available as a takeout for a family meal at home. Grab some baklava, date filled maamouls, or harissa as a sweet ending to a delicious dinner. Nice family owned and operated Middle Eastern grocery store, bakery and restaurant. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the neighborhood.

This is a small shop place, quiet and a little warm for 92 degrees weather. There is a bakery shelf, hot food counter, and mini mart selling Mediterranean groceries. Everyone is very sweet, helpful, and friendly. You order at the food counter and pay afterwards at the grocery cashier. The shawarma and gyro orders are made fresh, piping hot. I opted for the beef and lamb gyro while grabbing a small mango drink from the grocery side. The gyro sauce was perfect, along with the sliced beef and lamb. I dare to say this is the best gyro I've had in a long time, especially for the price! After finishing up, they ask you to leave to tray on the table and they'll come by to clean up. On my way out, I grabbed some cooking spices from the grocery side along with a small bag of jasmine rice. I felt the prices were reasonable for groceries and hot food. I am looking forward to my next trip back to try their other hot food such as the lamb shank.
