Since I was heading to Whole Foods in Raleigh on Wade Ave with the hubby, we decided to have an impromptu breakfast date at the new Drift. Being familiar with the Wilmington location, we were happy to have an opportunity to dine here.We went about 10:30a on a Sunday and there was a 35 min wait for inside but for first available, we were seated right away on the patio. Lots of sun , however out seat was partially shaded due to the umbrella at the table. A refreshing carafe was brought to us and we were able to place our drink orders. Hubby got the 'Amber' iced coffee and was able to sweeten it to his liking with raw sugar. We ordered the Big Brekkie to share - which came with bacon, toast, two perfectly toasted eggs, very well seasoned toasted tomatoes and mushrooms and some amazing breakfast potatoes. Everything was delicious and we'd definitely can't wait to try other things on the menu. Note : They have mobile order pickup- in case you don't want to wait and would love Drift to go!

Beautiful atmosphere, light and airy like you would expect to find at the beach, where they originated. The outside area had picnic tables with umbrellas and three very small metal cafes tables and small uncomfortable chairs. I'm guessing to prevent lingering. The cappuccino was yummy and could be made with oatmilk, which I appreciated. My friend ordered the breakfast sandwich, which she said was an 8.5/10. The bacon was nice and crisp and the aioli was well done.I ordered the veggie breakfast burrito with greens. The presentation was nice. However, I couldn't taste the egg because there was too much goat cheese, which was overwhelming. I mean a little goat cheese goes a long way. It said it came with avocado, which I thought to mean, sliced fresh avocado, but it was more of a smash with the pico de gallo and didn't taste fresh. The greens were barely dressed, just a small couple of leaves, so I basically ate just plain greens. I love salad though with very little dressing, so it was okay for me, but probably too scant for someone who likes their "dressed".The service was sub par. The hostess was new, so she forgot to bring silverware to the table. Then when we needed it after the food got there, our server, or any server, was nowhere to be found. Easily solved though, because I just popped inside and grabbed a couple off of an empty table. I did notice that the serving staff was congregated at the bar where the food was coming out. But it wasn't very busy, so more time should have been spent checking on tables than chatting. We had to ask for more water, which is a pet peeve of mine. It was very obvious that that wine "water bottle" was empty, as were our glasses. Overall, the restaurant has only been open a month, so it's obvious they are working out the kinks. Though my experience this time was not great, I might check back in a few months to see if things are better.

So I tried to order two different things, but the waitress came back and told me that they were out of pulled pork. So we switched to bacon for the breakfast burrito instead. And then we tried to order another thing and then she came back and said they're out of mushrooms. So instead we ordered the big brekkie. The burrito would have been better with pulled pork. Definitely a let down with just the bacon. Would have been better off probably ordering the veggie burrito so super bummed they ran out of that. The potatoes were delicious though and the drinks were good. I don't know if it's worth going back though if they run out of food items like this since I'm not close by. The waitresses were very nice and the vibe of the place is super cute. I just feel like it was expensive for the quality of food that was served to us, for me to just go meh and it's a 15 dollar item isn't worth it.

This was my first time at a drift cafe. When we first arrived, the place was packed! We were told there would be a 20 minute wait, and then, after asking about some bar stools that were open, were seated there immediately. Our waitress came quickly to get our drink order and then our food order. My friend and I both got iced lattes. The espresso they use has a bit of a sour taste to it, which was not my favorite, but some people might enjoy! After the initial order, nothing was quick. Our waitress did not come to check on us and our food came out 50 minutes after we ordered. I understand that they were busy, but the restaurant is fairly small and they seemed well staffed. Our food was great. There were a few things we kindly asked for that were forgotten, though. My market grain bowl seemed like a small portion at first, but I promise it will fill you up! All staff members were friendly and the vibes of the restaurant were neat. I will not be returning to Drift, but it would be an enjoyable trip if you give yourself time to wait!

This is a must try!! The staff are so friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming and airy, and the food is delicious!!! I tried the berry stack with a matcha latte and they were both absolutely amazing! That berry stack is even better than it looks!! My mom tried the scrambled toast and the americano with house made caramel. This americano might be the best I've ever had! Her toast was also delicious with a hint of spice! I can't wait to bring more people here and try more of their menu!

Delicious new brunch restaurant! It has plenty of free parking, and it was not too busy on a Saturday morning. Ordered the Breakfast burrito with potatoes on the side, and it was delicious!! I ended up taking half of it to-go. Service was good. I will definitely return.

Visiting from out of town...I'll be thinking about this spot for a long time. Had the veggie breakfast burrito with a side of greens. The actual BEST breakfast burrito I have ever had in my life. Almond milk latte was on point. Idk if they make their own almond milk or it was the coffee it's self but it was delish. Nutty undertones. Service was great, girls were super kind. Best part- my pup got to join me outside on the patio. I'll be back!

An hour long wait for bacon, a cold egg and unspectacular pancakes. They were busy when we arrived at late lunchtime on a Sunday, but that peak faded and still no food. We were literally getting ready to walk away when our food arrived, so my hope was that it would be awesome and worth the wait - it wasn't...

Our first time here and this place is a gem for breakfast and brunch. We tried the breakfast burritos and they are both wonderful the kid had the pancakes and they are fluffy, crucified on the outside and cake on the inside which required us to get another one
