Such a cute little place! The guy, not sure if he's the owner or just works here, was so nice to us. He even thanked us for coming to his store :) we bought mint chocolate chip, butter pecan, salted caramel, and cookies and cream ice creams. Also bought a brownie that was freshly baked. Everything was yummy!There's also free WiFi here.

I don't frequently go out for ice cream, but when I do I try to go to a new place when I can. Many people are familiar with the big names, but what really stands out are the small hole in the wall places, because they help feed money back into local economies. Double dipper was a great experience with great ice cream. I only wish I'd gotten a churro as well.

First off, Double Dipper serves Bassetts ice cream! (Yes, that's right, Philly's favorite ice cream since 1861... well, 1885 when Bassetts opened their first location) is now here in Claymont. I had the pleasure of visiting this parlor for a scoop of Mint Chocolate Chip placed perfectly into a deliciously crisp (not chewy) waffle cone; it was downright heaven. The parlor is located directly across the street from Archmere Academy and adjacent to the Reserve @ Darley Green. Most folks don't know but there is parking directly BEHIND the shop so just proceed through the light into the development and bang your first right into the lot. Upon entering the parlor, look to your left along the wall where you'll find a list of ice cream selections (they aren't listed on the glass case). And, if you've never had Bassetts ice cream then you're truly in for a treat.

Ordered Peanut Butter Swirl. When I looked on the cup it was pure vanilla. Took it back and asked if it was just vanilla? He no it's peanut butter swirl but there's no peanut butter. Omg. Seriously?! So you you knew you scooped it that way. Never again. Lost this customer family included. Customer service, quality, and delivery is key to running a business. Laziness has no place behind a counter.

Nice, clean place. Awesome service and in a great location. Every time I go back I say that I will try a new flavor, but that salted caramel chocolate covered pretzel ice cream just keeps calling me. I still would like to see a larger variety of flavors in time. They are new. Their brownies are ok too.

Stopped in tonight to check it out. They serve Bassetts Ice Cream which is the best --so rich and creamy. Chris the owner was so nice. Told us we could have as many samples as we wanted. The place is clean, bright, cheery and the service awesome.
