Dolce Carini has pizza that is passable -- pretty standard dollar slice quality, grab and go, easy in and out. The problem is that their dollar slice quality pizza starts at over three dollars a slice for cheese pizza, and many are over five bucks a slice with toppings. It's really a ripoff! The service is really friendly and fast, and it's in a great location right off of chestnut street, which probably jacks up the price a bit. But for this quality of pizza, the price is unforgivable. You might as well buy a whole pizza (larges start around $20), but at that price point, Pietro's a few blocks down or Mix across the street are better choices with nicer ambiance.I would go to Dolce Carini for quantity, not quality, of pizza. Their larges are huge and would definitely feed a bigger group. If you do delivery OR pickup, call them directly for way cheaper fees and lower base prices! And for whole pizzas, the best pizza in my opinion BY FAR is the Brooklyn (picture included). They do large only, but the mozzarella/plum tomato combo is pretty darn good. One of those babies kept me fed once for four days straight during quarantine, I just kept crisping up the slices in a pan each meal. Good times.

Omg this manicotti is off the scale! Value prices, great pies, awesome hoagies, cool drinks. Call them before 8:15, they close "early".CHEESE MANICOTTI ($12.50)Three delightful homemade pieces, stuffed with ricotta and layered in mozzarella atop the delectable tomato sauce. Comes with a side salad, delightful crispy fresh iceberg lettuce, baby tomatoes, and sliced onions. And bread! A 10" roll, toasted, buttered and garlicked. Oh wow that's so soft inside and that's fresh garlic!ThE HOAGIESBig thick rolls are the norm here. Take my word for it, order double meat, extra oil vinegar for just the right balance. THE SLICESMy favorite thing, a double baked slice from the counter. Crispy goodness. MOREInspired by the prolific, witty, erudite and very urbane Michael N. of Princeton's recent pic. I realized that manicotti was needed, URGENTLY. What a find!

tl;dr very much a NY-style pizza joint -- except for the Rittenhouse premium pricesPhilly certainly has no shortage of premium pizzerias -- but where do you go if you're looking for a quick, grab-n-go slice? Dolce Carini is one of the many unassuming, hole-in-the-wall pizza joints throughout the city, offering an extensive menu of casual Italian-American takeout fare. The long, narrow space has two seating areas -- each with a handful of two- and four-person tables -- split by the wide pizza counter and checkout area.I went for weekday lunch, and while a few patrons were munching on slices, I was the only one ordering. The pizza varieties ranged from plain to slightly-less-plain, and the ingredients were standard, meeting expectations with no intention to exceed them. Each pie was 16", split into 8 slices (the equivalent of a Domino's X-Large).I opted for 3 slices: the white, the pepperoni-mushroom, and the buffalo. My immediate impression was that the pizza was dull and limp; however, a quick re-heat in the oven impressively brought it back to life, crisping up the crust and remelting the cheese. The very thin crusts held up adequately to the toppings, which were spread very nearly to the edges. The white pie was rich and cheesy, with mozzarella melted over dollops of ricotta. The pepperoni-mushroom was average and unremarkable, apart from the minimal amount of grease. Finally, the surprisingly heavy buffalo slice was decorated with stripes of hot sauce and shredded chicken, sporting an intense flavor reminiscent of buffalo chicken dip.Dolce Carini's pies reminded me of NY grab-and-go slices: better than cost-cutting pizza chains, but by no means exceptional. And at $4 a slice, Dolce Carini feels more expensive than even the priciest of NY counter-service spots. While I may return to Dolce Carini if I'm in a pinch, I can't imagine it becoming a routine player in my pizza game.

Great food, quick, nice, professional service, nice phone manners, and delivery driver was a doll. My only complaint was that I ordered a chicken cheesesteak with fried onions and mushrooms and I received a chicken steak with mushrooms but no cheese and no fried onions. The sandwich was really good and I was probably the last order of the night so I just added my own cheese and it was yum! I'd definitely order again but I'll confirm fried onion and cheese via telephone. We are all human and lord knows I make tons of mistakes and the Sammy was really great and they scooped the roll my fave!

Eggplant Parm SandwichHighlights: - crispy bread - hot - good amount of cheese - fair portion & priceLow points: - a bit bland - cheese hard to incorporate into each bite - a bit dryRecommendations: - more sauce! i would recommend heating up some good marinara on the side and pair that which each bite to retain peak crispiness throughout - shuffling around the contents may help distribute the cheese for better per-bite composition

Stopped by here randomly to grab a quick bite and wasn't expecting much but it was pretty good. Ate it hot out of the oven so the crust was nice and crisp. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Calzone = worst. The crust was ok. Marinara was bland. Inside was stuffed like in ok let's put all the pepperoni in the middle, peppers on the left, ricotta on the right...like a pre made salad before mixing. Also goes by the name Brooklyn Calzones. Veggies were also raw (which generally fine but not in a calzone) and the green peppers were super THIcK so eating very cold veggies in a cold calzone was not favorable! Calzone arrived cold as in fridge cold and marinara was piping hot. Seems like it was pre made (fine) but not warmed?! Buyer beware!

Picked up a slice and some cheese fries while I was in the neighborhood a while ago. Nothing too crazy, but enjoyable and alright quality. Nice crust and good amount of cheese, just a bit pricier for the quality.

Visited this gem during Ritual's Dollarfest, and let me tell you -- they do not play around. I ordered the chicken tenders with fries, expecting a decent wait and a couple chicken tenders over a few fries, given that they used it for the Ritual special.Oh no.They filled that sucker to the BRIM. I literally had to put it in my work fridge because I got pretty full (given I had pregamed with a little snack beforehand) but lemme tell ya I can eat! Even though I got this meal in a special sale, I think it's more than worth the like $9 for the chicken and fries box. And on top of that, as soon as I arrived, the food was ready! Even though I basically ordered it as I was leaving my building like five minutes away. I've been passing this place without blinking every day, but it's a gem peeps

I called to order a chicken parm platter and zucchini fries. When it arrived It was a chicken parm sandwich. The order was wrong and the chicken in the sandwich was awful. The roll tasted like it had been microwaved. It was rubbery and not crisp. The zucchini fries were good.It was an expensive meal to just enjoy the fries.
