We are back in Philly and wanted to give this place a second chance as last time there was a gee things that they needed better. Inside has a full bar and fish tanks for the freah seafood. Maleah, our server, was very helpful in choosing the best dishes. We started with the spicy pork.soup dumplings, this dumpling was made perfectly with a thicker dough to be easier to lift up without breaking. Followed by a chili oil wontons and then the scallion pankakes and shrimp dumplings then came the Sichuan string beans, and finally, the Singapore mi fun with chicken and shrimp. ( made with curry) All were suggestions from Maleah, which were perfect choices for us. She was terrific and knew the menu well. Each item had its own special flavor and texture. and each dumpling was so unique. I am so glad I came back to give this place a second chance. The crazy thing was how fast the old is served. Suggestions. order one item at a time to have a nice long meal. Otherwise, it comes all quickly.

Went here for dinner last night with work colleagues and I loved the food! Center city sips are on - so $5-$7 drinks and apps! I loved the shrimp pad Thai and the chili oil dumplings the best!! Rest of the food was really good too.

Came here for restaurant week with a group of friends and we were all overly stuffed and satisfied. 100% would return again!Nothing special inside with the decor but a decent size venue with casual dress code. Our waitress was very kind and friendly! The amount of food you get for $45 is insane! I ordered pork soup dumplings for my first course, Mongolian beef for my second and vegetable fried rice for my third course. They gave me 8 pieces of pork soup dumplings! A bit doughy, but the flavor was on point especially when you added some chili oil. The Mongolian beef was okay, but my friend's general tso chicken receives a 10/10. The veggie fried rice looked simple, but it was delicious and seasoned perfectly. The dan dan noodles is a must. Spicy, porky and addicting! We were all so full, but couldn't stop picking at our foods. We each had leftovers, so you definitely get your moneys worth. Great spot! Winners were pork soup dumplings, general tso chicken, dan dan noodles and veggie fried rice!Skip the chicken and mushroom dumpling, Mongolian beef, shrimp typhoon and chicken lo mein.

Been coming to Jane G's since 2013 but somehow never wrote a review. Love this place so much! The servers are super friendly. Everything I have tried here has been so delicious. Always such a satisfying meal. The Dan Dan noodles are amazing (the peanut sauce and minced pork are so flavorful) and Spicy Pork Dumplings have the perfect level of heat and juiciness. Lychee Martini is a must if you like cocktails.

It's time for an updated review. I came here before the name changed. The decor and everything remains about the same. I came here recently with a friend. Our waitress was attentive and helpful, especially when we had to send stuff back. First , she told me that I ordered the worst dish at the restaurant, the asparagus, which to her is so bland. It was. It tasted like no salt was ever added. My friend's dish came out spicy when we asked for no spicy. We also got salt and pepper salt, which was tender but could use more salt.Overall, it was okay. I don't think I will come back when there are so many other options in the city for similar food. 4 stars, because 3 stars is a bit underrated. 3 and half stars is more accurate.

3.5 stars. Jane G's has decent Chinese food, but nothing mind blowing. They serve food from many regions of China, but seem to aim for quantity over quality in terms of dishes. While there's a wide variety of options, this also means that none of their cuisines have been perfected. I've previously gone for dimsum, and while their dimsum isn't bad, it also wouldn't be my first choice. This time I got mapo tofu for takeout. It was not bad, but had more chili oil than I would've liked and tasted very different from mapo tofu I've had elsewhere (lots of lemongrass?). It doesn't come with rice, but the side order of rice is about two bowls worth for $1. If you're around this area, I think sangkee on 34th street is worth the walk for for better Chinese food.

July 26, 2023 my son and I went to Jane G's Restaurant. We had no reservations and were walk-ins. We were promptly seated and a waitress came out to see us. She gave us the menus and explained how the restaurant worked. My son and I placed our drink orders and perused the menu. We ordered:-- Coca Cola (for my son)-- Strawberry Swing -- Lychee, Mint, Strawberry, Tequila-- General Tso's Chicken with Broccoli and White Rice (for my son)-- Crystal Shrimp Dumplings-- Vegetable Dumplings-- Roast Pork Bao BunsDining is family style, where the portions are large enough for two or more people. My son didn't try the dumplings or bao buns, though. The food was served in a timely fashion and we were able to dig in. The dumplings were fresh and juicy. The Bao Buns were pillowy soft and the meat was juicy and tender. Would definitely order them again. My son was a little overwhelmed by portion size of the General Tso's Chicken and barely made a dent in it. We had to get a to-go box for it.The waitress was extremely nice and was there when we needed her. The ambiance was nice. It was loud, but that was to be expected. Not too loud that we couldn't hold a conversation with one another. This restaurant is great for groups. We would definitely visit again. The only issue is parking. There's a lot right next to the restaurant but they price gouge for parking. You'll probably NEVER find an actual parking spot. Best bet is to Lyft|Uber to the restaurant.

Solid dim sum spot in the city. I think the biggest value is the location. The food was pretty decent however I think due to their vast variety of Chinese cuisine, Nothing was particularly spectacular. Service was very OK and the ambience was very OK. Definitely would be back but purely due to convenience.

Great restaurant for a casual dim sum night. They have great Happy hour (5-7pm) deals ($5 or $6 dumplings/other small plates) and a few drink specials. The staff is attentive - your water glass will never be empty! The food is high quality dim sum (loved the soup dumplings and pork buns), and with the happy hour deals you'll leave with a full stomach and a pretty full wallet. I will say that the larger entrees are a little pricey (~$25), so I stuck to the small plates. The Rittenhouse location is also really conveniently located ~3 blocks from the square and has both indoor and outdoor seating. Would highly recommend Jane Gs!

The service is at an avg speed for a busy night, not complaints there, but the attitude of the staff was lacking. I walked in and asked for a table of two and the hostess just glanced at me and starting walking to our table. We followed her and sat down at our table and she left the menus at our table. She did not say a single word to us during this whole exchange. We didn't really feel welcome. Anyways it didn't really bug us, but I feel like it would bother other people who want to feel happy and welcomed while eating. We ordered a ton of stuff on the menu and everything was pretty average and expected. There's not really any unique takes on the cuisine except for the extra hot har gao. And I need to warn you guys that thing is VERY hot, they're definitely not kidding. It surprised me because most dim sum items are not even spicy at all. It was so spicy that I didn't want to eat it, but I forced myself to because I didn't want it to go to waste. Another thing i'd like the comment on is that the sticky rice was bland with a scarcity of filling. Authentic sticky rice (lo mai gai) usually has dried scallops/shrimps and shitake mushroom which would have brought more saltiness and flavor. This one however didn't. The dark soy sauce in it was also lacking too.
