My family and I are native New Yorkers, but every year we go out to Philly to visit. Our trips to Philly would never be complete without a trip to Dimsum Garden! The first time we ever had Dimsum Garden, it was at their original location near the bus terminal, so we've been supporting them for quite some time. Like other reviews mention, it is cash only, so be prepared with cash. I'd also recommend coming at an off hour to avoid crowds- but the good thing is, if you are stuck on a like waiting for a table, it does move relatively quickly. We came in for dinner at 5pm, and our group of four was seated right away. We were given water and attended to quickly as well. The waitstaff is very good at refilling water without you needing to ask, which is always a good thing. As for the food, it never disappoints! Back when I ate meat, I used to indulge in the pork soup dumplings, but it's something my family still enjoys. They also got the beef brisket noodles. I've had the noodles without meat, and they're made fresh, and are super soft and chewy. The cucumber salad is always a hit- they toss it in a vinegar dressing, which reminds me of German cucumber salad. We also got the scallion pancakes, veggie dumplings and shrimp with broccoli. As someone who grew up going to Chinatown and eating Chinese food, I'm very particular when it comes to scallion pancakes. Other places I've had, sometimes it's been too crispy or too oily, but these scallion pancakes are perfect. Even though they're fried, they're not oily, and they're so nice and chewy. I'd say they're perfect, heaven, if you ask me! As for the veggie dumplings, they don't skimp out on filling. It's full of veggies, and also has little cubes of tofu. The dumplings themselves are so soft and easy to eat. All the dishes are large enough to be shared, so definitely good for group dining. And, occasionally, there's food left over you can take home. This is also one of the few places I've been able to find veggie buns, because I usually just am able to find pork buns. I love this place and would definitely recommend it to those visiting Philly! They have plenty of options for both meat eaters and non-meat eaters, which I appreciate. Definitely come here if you're looking for some great Chinese food!

Really crowded but fast paced! I had a delicious tofu noodle dish in a brown soy sauce with bok choy. Very happy with my decision. The waiter, Ryan was ultra polite and asked how I liked it!Thumbs up!!Most of the people shared an assortment of dim sum!

I ordered on door dash Everything I ate was so good. I ordered too many dumplings. These were super filling but also big for the size of soup dumplings I'm used to. The inside is sooooo goood though especially with the dumpling sauce. Melts in your mouth yumminess I love vegetables and the beans are really well done. Steamed but still have a crunch they're not limp at all and seasoned so well. The red bean was the perfect finisher. Highly recommend!!

Dim Sum Garden is one of the bests!! There are no reservations so you have to take a leap of faith that they aren't too busy. The service is fast and the food comes out so quickly! Everything is always fresh, flavorful and delicious! The Bok choy is a staple that I can't get enough of and the the rice is so good! A great place with a great staff! It's a must visit!

my go-to spot for 小籠包 (xiao long bao) ! i've been going to dim sum garden since it was still a hole in the wall restaurant and can say w confidence that these are some of the best XLB you can get. I always get the crab and pork XLB + 生煎包 (shen jian bao) and they never disappoint. I also recommend getting some shanghainese style side dishes as that's their specialty! service is usually quick and I never have a problem getting seated even with bigger groups. just a note that they are cash only but there is an ATM at the restaurant if you need it.

Lovely no frills restaurant in China town. Food was delicious and quick service. We had the spicy pork soup dumplings, shrimp dumplings, sesame chicken and Shanghai duck noodle. All dishes were packed with flavor. I did not find the spicy pork soup dumplings that hot, but my significant other did. Either way I would order again. The noodles were phenomenal with great texture and tender duck. I also ordered a taro milk tea. It was a bit sweeter than I would've liked but still flavorful. Overall we will be back.

good spot for some quick dimsum. The soup dumplings are good but I think I enjoy the Nan Xiangs at NYC better. The wonton in chili oil was also a good starter and I love that it wasnt too spicy hehe Pan fried soup dumplings were nice and plump and held a good amount of"soup" while not getting soggy. Ho fun was tasty and was a group favorite and the sweet and sour fish was also a nice change from our usual orders. we also got the red bean cake which was surprisingly good and filling. Good ending for our dimsum dinner.service was nice and quick but I do wish they start accepting cards soon.

The food here is really solid and the standout are their pork soup dumplings. Do NOT miss these! There are some specific things to know when eating here:1) this is a very touristy destination, so if you're going for dinner it's going to be pretty crowded with mostly out-of-towners. This isn't an issue but just be prepared this isn't a super authentic experience.2) they don't cart the food around so you'll order on a menu to a server. If you want a really authentic cart experience, I hear there is a Chinese food hall in northern philly that does Sunday brunch.3) you need to bring cash or prepare to use the ATM in the restaurant. Not hard to use but could be a line depending on when you're there.4) they do offer takeout and are available via delivery (we tried doordash and the food was equally as good as dining in)We tried multiple items, I had the pork soup dumplings that were amazing. The pork buns are also fantastic. The shrimp shumai is good so is the egg pastry. Everything that I ate here was knockout and the multiple times I've had it since then have all been great. Definitely worth a visit if you haven't been!

This is what I like to call "my go to chinese spot." The service is quick, the food is good, and I always leave needing to be rolled down the street because i'm so full. The chicken and broccoli is my go to and i've noticed it's not always consistent with the flavor, probably due to different chefs, but it's still good and they give you a decent amount of chicken. I recently tried their fish filet in hot sauce which was the best risk i've taken here so far. It was delicious and had so much fish inside. The only downsides of this place are how busy they get so you may have to wait, the inconsistencies of the taste, the fact that rice isn't included ($1-2 add on which I think is ridiculous when the dish is already ~$18), and that it's a cash or Zelle (no more venmo) only business but they have an ATM. But despite all of that that I keep coming because it's always good.
