This place is situated in a not affluent neighborhood but quite a large store and neat inside. The checker is fridndly and the checking area also caters snacks from Indian Region of Kerala. Most items are similar to any other grocery store in Houston. The items of my interest were, unique culinary ware, regional packaged snacks that are fresh since the regulars buy them often. The Meat & Sea Food is sold in a separate area which is clean and culturally specific for people of Indian Subcontinent and I was impressed. I bought 1 large Fresh Mackerel and 2 pounds fresh King Fish. I went home and fried few pieces of each fish to go with my beer before Texans game and it was delicious. I plan to go here again. They also have frozen single packet of most fish which are pan ready for stew or fry. Also have Halal cur fresh Beef, Goat and Chicken already cut in cubes for stew or fry. Amazing Store. Gave a 4 because it was far away.

Close to Kerala Kitchen(recommended). A good place to find more brands than many indian grocers and its well laid out and not hard to explore on a well spaced out floor plan. Recommend.

This store was fully stocked, and staff very friendly. They sell a wide variety of spices, rice, henna, snacks, etc. They also have ready-made snacks, which really weren't that tasty, but were decently prices.

I usually come here to get alot of my indian groceries. It's not the closest store to my house but it does have a lot of variety with their products. Their is a large parking space so you will definitely find space. They also have some fresh & hot snacks and drinks available for purchase to satisfy any cravings you may have. There is also fresh fish for purchase also. All in all not too bad of a store for my indian cooking necessities. :)

I would consider this the best Indian Grocery store in my surrounding area but unfortunately it is the furthest away from me , so I don't get to go there enough .Compared to other local places , it has the largest real estate area, items are fresh (Not Expired) and in stock, and is surprisingly clean (can't usually say that .about these places). The store has all the standard items you would expect in any Indian Grocery store. The difference is due to the larger store , there are more varieties which is helpful if you are looking for a particular brand or obscure masala. The other plus point is the pricing of a majority of the items is reasonable than the bloated prices of other local stores.

We were in Stafford, and did not want to drive over to Hilcroft so I found 2 places on google, using my blackberry. We walked-in and the smell of fish hits you hard, may be a new ventalation/exhaust system is needed. As we walked around the store, they had a large variety of items that we use, however the prices were almost double the price, compared to the New India Market place on the other side of Avenue E. For example, there were cookies, $.49 at New India Market and $.99 at Discount Grocers. When we went to checkout, the cashiers seemed to be into their movie more then the customers. In front of one the cash registers, is a little television, and there was a crowd of 4 people around it, while we waited.Other then that, the products are all the same, no matter what desi grocery store you go to.

We made a trip to Stafford all the way from The Woodlands, the main motivation being- to shop at a Kerala store. Let alone finding Kerala items, it didn't even match up to an average Indian store. We were looking specifically for vegetables, fruits and frozen food like puttu, idiyappam, etc. There was green chillies and butternut squash as vegetables. That is it! We bought green chillies. Frozen food section had some ready-made idlis, we got that, though we didn't really need it, just because we had made that trip! I did not like the idli- it crumbles and also has a smell that puts me off even before I put it in my mouth. So, as you figured, we are not going back.

This store is unsanitary and sells perished meat! I would never recommend anyone to shop at this store. In fact, I would say don't even step in you will smell bad when you leave, given that the bad fish that sell at this store reaks as soon as you walk in! The manager and whoever owns this store are crooks and do not know how to handle customers when they are confronted with the truth of their expired goods. DO NOT SHOP HERE.
