"I have been craving surf n turf sushi ever since I tried it at Sprouts. I heard this place had it and wanted to try it fresh. I walked into a completely empty restaurant and I had to ask if they were open. They were fully staffed but no customers. It was nice to have the restaurant to myself to take pictures of my menu and food without other people looking, however. I started with the Kani Poppers. They were AMAZING! I love the crisp of the crust and the crunch of the jalapeños. The cream cheese added some creaminess to the mix and the sauce on top added the sweetness that tied all of the flavors together. It was a well balanced and filling appetizer. Of course for my entree I got the Surf n Turf Roll. I must say I expected a lot more flavor wise. The flavor of the filet mignon on top fell flat, and they stuffed the roll with a lot of avocado which I am not a fan of but I don't mind in sushi because usually there is only a small amount. The cold roll that I bought at Sprouts was way better and a lot more affordable which was disappointing to me. I will have to keep looking for a better surf n turf roll in Denver. I will say the service was good and the staff was friendly."

"3.5 stars. Met a friend here for lunch one day, though parking wasn't any easier in this neighborhood on a weekday afternoon. Service was great, but the experience overall wasn't very memorable. I'm sure the fish was fresh, but what really stood out was the fish:rice ratio as shown by photos of their sushi. Generous portions for a reasonable price, which is even better at lunch.On that note, check out their lunch specials specifically. Okinawa seems less busy than nearby restaurants so it's an obvious choice in terms of wait and crowd. Or just get it to-go or delivered. Can't remember what exactly I ordered but enjoyed the variety in types of rolls and fish. Humble little spot right on Tennyson. Worthy contender for "everyday sushi" in Denver."

But so far it's the top spot in Colorado and it's definitely good.I will continue to try and find better but also I may return because I've tried 10+ and this is ghe best out of those.The ambiance is nice for being in a little strip mall, nothing super upscale but nice and medium sized.The service was good, tge waiter was nice. "Beautiful, delicious sushi!Osaka Sushi is a huge winner in the sushi department for having an amazing selection of rolls, reasonable prices, beautiful presentation, and awesome desserts!Had the opportunity to finally check out Osaka Sushi after a friend of mine raved so much about it. I may be weird, but I actually love fruit in or on top of my sushi so whenever I'm at a new sushi place I scan the menu for a) rolls with any fruit like mango, strawberry, or kiwi, b) spicy rolls with spicy salmon or tuna, and then c) tempura rolls. Osaka Sushi has a great selection and some very unique rolls as well. I ordered the tropicana roll and ichiban roll which satisfied my fruity and spicy sushi cravings, respectively. The tropicana roll is one of their newer rolls and includes shrimp tempura, crab meat, cucumber, kiwi, kiwi sauce, tempura flakes, and red tobiko. The ichiban roll is shrimp tempura & crab meat topped with spicy tuna, spicy mayo, and sweet eel sauce. My friends ordered the avalanche roll, oh baby roll, and two others that I don't remember the name of. The avalanche has baked salmon, crab, shrimp tempura. Oh my goodness, I absolutely loved the ichiban, tropicana, and avalanches rolls! The two other rolls I tried were also great. Despite being fairly full, of course we had to try dessert.I ordered the berry paradise cheesecake, while our friends had the tempura ice cream and creme brulee. All of the desserts were beautifully presented, with beautiful plate art. Not only beautiful, but they were also delicious. I love the care in the presentation that Osaka delivers for both their sushi and desserts!Friendly staff, plenty of seating. Five stars! Definitely one of my favorite sushi restaurants - wish it was closer!"

We enjoyed omakase here for dinner & absolutely loved it.We arrived at Sushi Ronin and were seated at the sushi bar. Marin, Ethan, & Larry were the masters behind the sushi and it was awesome to see these sushi chefs at work. All three of them were so fun and attentive during our dinner service. Manager, Ida ensured our meal ran smoothly and checked in periodically.For cocktails I started with the seasonal, Pineapple Express made with vodka, gin, basil, simply syrup, & yuzhu. The Pineapple Express was vibrant green in color and refreshing in taste.For dinner we did the 'Ronin Omakase' which was the culinary experience left up to the chef. The omakase is always changing and is a dine-in only option. I highly recommend trusting the chef and partaking in omakase. Our omakase experience began with a palate cleanser - the Mandarin Elixir.The Chutoro Crudo was made with mid belly bluefin tuna, pomegranate zu, dragonfruit, golden beets, lemon zest, maldon salt, and micro chives. The dish itself was a gorgeous kaleidoscope of colors. The mid belly bluefin tuna offered a luxurious texture without being overly fatty. The smooth, buttery taste of the tuna went well with the sweet pop of the pomegranate and the mild earthiness of the golden beets.The Mukozuke was the Chef's choice sashimi accompanied by wasabi yuzhu, chive oil, chili crisp, rice puffs, chili threads, & pea shoots. The presentation of the Mukozuke was stunning. The sashimi was so fresh; I loved the texture variation of the smooth fish against the delicate crunch of the rice puffs.I enjoyed chilled sake with the rest of dinner.The Bluefin Tuna Flight included sashimi pieces from fatty to lean. The otoro tuna sashimi featured intense fat marbling which resulted in rich flavoring (far left). The leanest tuna was very low in fat and had a striking red color (far right).The Salmon Nigiri Flight included fresh Scottish salmon, New Zealand salmon, Tasmanian salmon, and seared Scottish salmon. The nigiri flight was exceptional. The New Zealand salmon was balanced and herbal. The Tasmanian was light & clean. The seared Scottish salmon was my favorite - it melted in my mouth with a gorgeous richness. The Canadian Crab sushi pieces were topped with black caviar & garlic butter. The lump crab was sweet with tender chew and the crown of black caviar really took this sushi piece to the next level.The Itovori, Threadfin Bream and Hiramasa, Greater Amberjack were served on ice.The Scallop nigiri was complemented by olive oil. The scallop was excellent - sweet & mild in flavor.The Godzilla roll was made with tempura shrimp, avocado, seared NY strip, and black garlic butter. Larry fired up this roll and we could see why it's one of Sushi Ronin's most popular.The Matcha Trifle was a Japanese take on Tiramisu - lovely in looks & taste."

"Came here with family to celebrate two early birthdays, it's my last night in town and we wanted to have a nice dinner to celebrate. For drinks we had a large hot sake and one large beer. We started out with a couple simple appetizers, edamame, crab cheese wontons, and they were executed perfectly. Salads next with miso soup that came with our meal. The ginger dressing was delicious, worth finishing the salad just to get some more of that dressing in my face. We ordered chicken teriyaki and rice for the kids, sushi and sashimi deluxe with an ichiban roll for the adults and some extra sushi items to round out the meal. Good sized pieces of sushi, well prepared- and we enjoyed everything. My 3 year old niece destroyed the tuna and salmon sashimi. I loved the ichiban roll, the sushi was all delicious and my personal favorite is the inari- fried tofu pockets stuffed with seasoned sushi rice. All three children are well, and shockingly enough ate plenty of sushi and apps. The desserts didn't last very long at all. As I was still debating eating more, I decided to order one more order of crab cheese wontons and an order of takoyaki to go. Delicious. Service was great, for a Monday night they weren't crazy busy so we got to eat very quickly. For dessert, we ordered two mango mochi ice creams for the ladies, and one tempura vanilla ice cream for my nephew/the table. Destroyed everything. A jewel in a small town, this is a great place with fantastic service and food that is great quality. Support small owned businesses!"

I felt bad for being ' those people' who walk in shortly before a place closes and they are trying to clean and wrap things up. Whoops, sorry guys!We all order some sushi burritos (rolls) and sat down while they made them. They came out quick and asked if we needed anything else. We got some wasabi and started chowing down. I got the hamachi crunch poke burrito. I would have ordered mine as a build your own but my burrito would have easily been over $20 so I stuck with the hamachi one. The fish was fresh and the roll had great flavor. I loved all of it except that it wasn't rolled tightly enough and just fell apart. I ended up having to use utensils to eat it as everything kept falling out. But great flavor. After we were done, which was past their closing time, the manager greeted us at the door and you could tell was really grateful we came in, even if it was late. He was really nice and asked us to spread the word! I hope more people hear about this place and check them out. Great sushiritos!"

"This is some of the best sushi you're going to find in Denver. The quality and freshness of the fish is exceptional, even reminding me of some of my favorite west coast sushi joints. The bluefin tuna tasted like the ocean, which previously I only thought possible when eating sushi on the west coast. The size of the rolls and handrolls are substantial, so you can get full eating here and spend very little relative to other sushi places. The ambience here awesome. It's a really tiny place, seems like they can fit at most 20 people. It smells and looks great in there, and during the evening they have nice dim lighting. The sushi chef and the rest of the staff are very nice and attentive. It's a great experience eating here. And it's the kind of place you can come anytime without reservations (still very little people know about this place, not sure why). They also offer delivery which is definitely something I'll take them up on at some point.If you're familiar with Sushi Sasa downtown, I think this has the same owner and the food is similar. I would say though that this place edges out Sushi Sasa slightly because the fish tasted fresher and the rice was warm right out of the rice cooker. I've ate at all the sushi institutions around (Sushi Den, Uchi, Matsuhisa, Temaki Den, Makizushico, etc) and this is legitimately right up there with all of them."

My experience has gone from A-OK to Wow, this is a really good place at an affordable price.Service is very pleasant. The kind waitress seated me about 5pm on a weekday. I was in the area already and decided to catch a quick bite before heading home to watch the Buffs play SDSU. (Go Buffs!). I ordered a couple things to go but also ate there too. I try to mix things up when I can.I had a salad and drunken tiger roll while I are there. Then I took a yellowtail handroll and playa roll to go. Everything was excellent. Taste and texture surprised me with many familiar flavors. Whether you want a quick bite or gather with friends, this is the place for you.I saw a number of people drop by for pickup orders and many others shuffle through for bigger parties. They seem to get a good number of return customers. I will certainly be back. Ding Tea and Beard Papa's are in the same shopping strip. One of my favs is the Volcano Roll with crabmeat and cucumber topped with white fish, spicy mayo, masago, scallions and sweet sauce. Rolls seem to be on the smaller side. I couldn't resist the Key Lime Cheesecake special being promoted that day, and it was the perfect modest-sized slice of tart and sweet to end the meal. They had a great selection of specialty rolls, lots of vegetarian options and some unique rolls, like the stuffed & sliced jalapeno roll. They offer both filtered and unfiltered sake, either hot or cold. I opted for the filtered sake cold and it was great, nice flavor and very light. They also had multiple domestic and Japanese beer options. The sushi was very fresh and the specialty rolls had great flavor combinations. The presentation was as pretty as it was mouthwatering. The restaurant is fairly small, but as previously noted, we walked in and were seated with no wait. The service was very attentive. Just a great experience. I will definitely be back."
