Wow...very disappointed with this place. Ordered beef & broccoli for lunch and it was the most bland Chinese food ever. Beef tasted nasty like cardboard...broccoli was hard and the sauce tasted nasty. The fried rice was hard like it was overcooked or cooked hours earlier. Will not be ordering from this place again!

So I've tried it twice because someone in my office loves their "K"rab shrimp eggrolls but I just can't dig it. "K"rab isn't my thing so the eggrolls weren't great to me. I can't remember what I got the 1st time but was underwhelmed at the time and usually pass when this is the office lunch option. (Doesn't happen often because it isn't really close by) I did however partake this time and got the chicken egg foo young.... and it was literally the worst egg foo young I've ever had. The egg part was just egg and huge uncooked onions that were still raw with something that was more like an extremely thick unseasoned brown gravy you'd serve with a roast. This was bad y'all like completely inedible bad. I gave 2 stars because the other person in my office still loved her eggrolls and said her chicken lomein was just OK. Sorry China Chef Express, I tried again but this is a never again for me.

I have enjoyed the food here for many years until 6/6/23, when China Chef Express gave me the wrong order for pick up? Luckily, I also ordered an egg fried rice the part that was correct in the order. I decided to ask for a refund today and was told I had to drive back to the restaurant and bring the uneaten food back to the restaurant, in order to get a refund? Well, I live no place near this dive and feel like I took a chance on my life even entering this grungy, dusty, pot hole invested shopping center? or whatever you wanna call it? Keep the $12.71 since you seem to be hard up for money!! It's the principle for me, you give me the wrong order & hassle me about requesting a refund? Good food, Horrible Service, Grungy location & store inside ggrundgy too, same old ragggggedy stuff inside for 20 years.... oh yea here is the pic of the food you asked for china chef express!

I had ordered my food at 1:15 for delivery. Around 3:30 I received a call saying my ordered needed to be picked up. I stated to the young man I placed my order for delivery and already paid for it. He apologized and said they will deliver my food. My food shows up at my house around 4:30 and the delivery man insisted that my husband pay. I had already paid for my order when I ordered it. I called the restaurant and after arguing with the lady on the phone for 10 mins they left the food with my husband. The delivery driver was very rude and of course after waiting 4 hours our food was cold.

Always trying to find "traditional" Chinatown-style food like Chicago or New York, I'm always disappointed to find there are very few places in the Denver area with Egg Rolls in the thicker, bubbly wrappers (same dough as wonton wrappers). In my opinion the best around are way over by Lakewood at The Empress. Piper's Inn is reminiscent of good egg rolls, although their take on it is a little different. There used to be another excellent New York style restaurant at Parker and Quincy, but sadly the owners retired a few years ago and now it's Thai/fusion. Add China Chef to the very small list of really good egg rolls. Not just acceptable, but really good! I've tried two entree/combos so far, their wonton soup, and egg rolls. Not only are the egg rolls really good, but also hands down the BEST wonton soup I've ever had. In today's economy their prices are a bargain, the servings are huge, and if you like traditional Chicago/New York style Chinese food, I think you'll be thrilled. I haven't tried any of the more contemporary "Asian/fusion" dishes that are all too common, so I can't comment on them but for old school American-Chinese food, this place gets 5 stars.

Use to be good food. Ordered sweet and sour pork for lunch. It was so over cooked, the pork looked burnt. Couldn't get a fork to work. Had to use my fingers. Was going to take it back, but couldn't be bothered. They must have changed cooks. Won't go back.
