I've worked in downtown Denver for over 8 years and Shondiz has always been a staple. I've been going here since before they were a permanent fixture on 16th Street Mall. The breakfast burritos are the best to be had, hands down. For $4.50, you're getting fresh eggs, potatoes, grilled veggies, spicy sauces, and cheese if you like. And it's a lot of food, definitely could fill you up for the entire work day if you're having a late breakfast. Of course there are a ton of breakfast burrito options in Denver, but for both the quality and the price of this, it's hard to beat. If you're open to spicy foods, ask the owner to make it as spicy as possible. He'll bring the heat which makes the food even more appealing, since so many places say they can make their food 'spicy' and it still falls flat. The falafel is also incredible. Freshly fried falafels are added to a warm pita, with tons of additions. Just a word to the wise, call ahead to avoid having to stand in the long lines that form around lunch time.

YES. YES. TRIPLE YES.We landed in Denver for another great weekend adventure for Adventure Club in the Red rocks, and first order business: FOOD TRUCK FOOD. On yelp, indeed this is walking distance from our Le Meridien Hotel, so BOOM. Lunch-time hour together with the rest of the locals who probably work there line-up in enthusiasm doing our good-food-dance, and ordered a combo! The guy who cooks inside is very polite, he will even ask if you want extra of any of the sauce, or how hot you like it to be. *make it burn*--yum! I love Denver and it's great downtown area/city, we placed ourselves in the middle where chairs and table were available for city-travelers and tourists. Shared a combo meal and a Shawarma and Wallaaaaaaaah! Tummy happiness level: 9k.

Fantastic vegetarian options and an outstanding falafel sandwich. Always super friendly and super fast. Vegan or vegetarian, you should stop by...Don't let the fact that it is a food cart worry you, he whips of a fantastic meal...

Got the lamb kofta, with salad and hummus, the lamb was dry and not very flavorful, once I ran out of hummus it was nearly not edible.I mean the best thing on the plate was the pickled onion...Granted that food in downtown Denver seems to be sub par overall, there is really no excuse for bland middle eastern food. Staff was nice, just the food was lacking.

Being a genuine doner fan, this wasn't it. Call it shawarma sandwich not a doner. Sweet and helpful guy who works there makes up for the weakness though.

Unhygienic place, horrible stench. Not sure how this place passes inspection. The meat tasted like road kill.

THANK YOU EDDY! first time in Denver and so happy we stopped here. Not only was the shawarma amazing but also Eddy and his customer service :) I felt like family eating there and will be back before I go back to California. We got two shawarmas with everything on it. Added garlic and spicy sauce and they were so generous with that and their protein :) would recommend to stop and eat at the picnic tables around there. Thanks again , Eddy!!

Having lived overseas for a bit and falling in love with the doner kebab, I have been eyeing Shondiz for a little while. Thanks to a slower week at work, I snuck out today to grab a sandwich. I was hoping they wouldn't be closed with the holidays and thankfully they were not. Of course I ordered the doner kebab sandwich but without onions. The sandwich was a big one with shaved lamb, tomatoes, lettuce, pickled cabbage and a spicy sauce that pulled it all together beautifully. The lamb was fatty but in a delicious way and the pickled cabbage helped to undercut a little of the fattiness which is a perfect harmony in your mouth. The sauce had a hint of spice to it which again married beautifully with the lamb. While this isn't an exact replica of what I had overseas it was delicious nonetheless and I would definitely keep going back.

I've been looking for a kebab since we visited Berlin. I dream about it. Finally found it in downtown Denver. Get it with garlic sauce.
