Dandelion Cafe

We tried this place last Sunday. I like how you have to order at the counter and then look for a table to be seated. Their pancakes are so moist and delicious. They reminded me of my grandmother's. Not sure if they have a bit of cornmeal but they sure did taste like they did. I also ordered a lox bagel but they forgot to put it on my tab so offered something else since they ran out. I opted for a soft scrambled egg and it was just to my liking. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles. We thought the waffle was a little dry. Nonetheless, we will be back for the pancakes!

Parking is shared with the strip but this is an absolute GEM.Affordable & delicious food is the way to my heart & of course my wallet enjoys it. When I came, it wasn't too packed but I've read other reviews suggesting otherwise.Seating inside can potentially be awkward because you could end up sharing with a stranger. You never know, maybe that would be the beginning of a love connection.

Always a delight, this spot is always light, bright, evolving and always helping me satisfy my daily dose of vitamin D.While you may know them for beating out a local fav with their chicken and waffles, I know them from my avo toast obsession phase. #basicI came for the black ownership and hand painted window decor but stayed for the avo toast and self serve maple syrup. Entering my third year of patronage my taste has finally evolved. I'll dabble in multiple delight, from the lemon ginger cayenne shots to third party local pastries to bagel dots. But the main reason I decided to revisit this review today was the customer service. I drove admittedly a bit out of my way craving a menu item that's no longer available. Instead of prompting me to select another, their team put on their creative hats, realized they have all of the ingredients to create the dish and crafted me an order. The extra touch was beyond appreciated. I wish I grabbed a receipt or that team members name so I could shout them out! I'll be blunt, I know these folks are not paid enough to have to problem solve with customers, but it means the world when they do! Not all items are winners, but the service is. If you've yet to visit, take this as your sign!

Despite being super busy, the staff was kind and attentive - helping bus tables and hand guests napkins and silverware. I ordered The Dandy Classic with scrambled eggs, maple sausage, hash browns, and sourdough toast. The maple sausage was a bit too greasy, so next time I will order bacon instead. Loved the hash browns!! Pancake was huge and fluffy - great for sharing! Overall great spot not too far from the city.

Found this place on Yelp while in town for a weekend and the food was sooooo good! Not only was it good but the portion sizes were huge. We got a pitcher of mimosas for the table and it was enough for 4 people to have 2 glasses each. The butter that came with the chicken and waffles really complimented the meal. There is a decent amount of seating but can get packed really quick. I'll definitely be coming back.

I ordered an egg salad sandwich on wheat bread. The egg salad wasn't flavorful. The small sandwich costs $11. I wouldn't order it again. And if I would have gotten my sandwich with focaccia bread, it would have been more. The small cappuccino was good, but I find a small cappuccino for $5 overpriced. Plus when I went to order, the cashier automatically entered a large cappuccino on the register. I told him, "No, a small." This place is overpriced. I've had a heartier egg salad sandwich some place else. I didn't finish it.

Great breakfast options and bottomless coffee. The tostadas with black beans was excellent. The service was friendly and welcoming. The vibe is bright early morning breakfast, with wide range of customers. There are some people reading/studying but more of a restaurant/coffee shop than a study place.

My friend Lily and I were planning to go to Galveston and first needed sustenance. Thankfully bellaire provides a lot of options in terms of good places to eat. We went to dandelion cafe on a whim and based on the packed inside, it surely must have been a hit. It's not too big of an establishment but the ambiance resembles a moderately crowded cafe in New York. The tables are quite close together and the service is quick. You pull up to the front counter to order, pay, and then they bring it to you. Surprisingly, people dining in are in and out quickly. I got the avocado toast and that bad boy was filling. It came with a bowl of fruit to which I kindly asked to just have banana and they happily did it. The wait wasn't too bad for the food either. This is a good find and worth trying.

A small, cute breakfast/coffee spot that hit the spot!Just visiting town and stopped in for breakfast. The staff was friendly and brought our order out quick!The hashbrowns stood out to me as they were seasoned really well and I didn't add any condiments to my breakfast even though I would typically add salt or ketchup.The only reason I did not give it a 5/5 star review is because it's not very cozy and the aesthetic of the inside and food presentation isn't exceptional. However, I would say it was delicious and would visit again!

Hands down my new favorite joint! The service here is beyond anything I've been to in a very long time! The chicken and waffle is extremely interesting! The added cornbread keeps it moist with soaking up every bit of the syrup they give you! I'm a huge syrup fan, so if you are, ask for an additional one! This along side the chicken was very very delicious! The chicken was seasoned to perfection! It's always interesting to get chicken thighs over the usual strips, and I'm not hating whatsoever! My wife got the biscuits and gravy but ended up paying extra to go with the chicken and waffles. She wasn't a fan of the gravy even though it was VERY tasty over the biscuits. To each their own. Lastly, the ambiance of the restaurant was sweetened by the Vanilla Latte that we had. There were actual bits of vanilla in it that were evident bye the black dots on top. I thought that was a very nice addition to the latte. #starbuckswho?10/10 will definitely be returning soon! Also, the older gentleman who was literally walking around talking and helping everyone was fantastic! He was so quick to check up on every single one of the people there!
