Moody and jazz ambiance. Service was awesome; never had an empty water glass! Food was prepared fairly quickly so theres not much time waiting.Food: 4.6/6* Lobster Mac & Cheese: 3.5/5- Good pasta-Lobster ratio. It's cheesy but the sauce isnt too thick.* Vin Scully Fries: 5/5- its really good. Would 100% get it everytime. It is slightly salty from the cheese but its really good. They use this sweet sauce to counter balance the saltiness.* Spicy Salmon Crispy Rice: 5/5- would probably get this every time too. Its not as crispy as the other salmon crispy rice I've had before but its still really yummy* Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail: 5/5- i keep saying this but i would order every time as well! These jumbo shrimps were ACTUALLY jumbo!* Pasta Za Za: 4.5/5- statement pasta! Its good.

I recently visited Drake's Hollywood Steakhouse in Dallas for the first time to celebrate a friend's birthday. Unfortunately, what I had hoped would be an enjoyable evening turned into a highly disappointing experience due to misleading menu information and a complete lack of customer care. The issue began with the restaurant's menu, which advertised that caviar could be added to a pizza for $30. This was both on their physical and online menus, so I confidently made the selection. The bartender said there wasn't caviar on the menu, and I had to go back and point it out to him. He still insisted it couldn't be done, until another bartender corrected him. He then advised this wasn't apart of the happy hour menu, as if that was all I had budgeted for was happy hour items. He never explained the menu or what was available for happy hour, so I am not sure why that piece of information was relevant. He then went to the back of the restaurant and came out to speak further with me. To my dismay, I was later informed that this price was a typo and that the actual cost was $130--a dramatic and unexpected increase. Which was also mentioned to me is a typo or a mistake that has been here since it's been reprinted. As a first-time customer, I expected the restaurant to acknowledge their error and provide a reasonable solution, such as honoring the listed price, offering a discount, or even a goodwill gesture like a complimentary dessert. However, none of these options were extended. It was evident that the bartender had shared our conversation with most of the restaurant staff but the Manager specifically approached me and said "Someone had a question about the caviar?" Although I did not request to speak with a manager and thought the exchange was over, the manager outright told me that I could not have the menu price honored, nor my meal comped, canceled, or receive anything complimentary for a future visit. She cut me off several times during our conversation in attempts to have to last word, and I decided to just say ok to avoid further upsetting myself. This was disappointing enough, but the experience was further soured by the behavior of the staff. Throughout the evening, employees were whispering and making uncomfortable eye contact with me, which made me feel singled out and unwelcome. Another bartender said right in front of us to the original bartender who served us that "your night will get better later on" insinuating that we put a damper in his mood. Unlike the rest of my party, I was not offered drink refills or attentive service. I had to request a plate and napkins when my food did eventually come out. I lost my appetite and only ate one slice of pizza. I was excluded and ignored until it was time to pay the bill. As someone excited to try Drake's for the first time, this experience was a major letdown. I understand that mistakes happen, but how a business chooses to address them says a lot about their commitment to customer satisfaction. Unfortunately, Drake's Hollywood failed to meet even the most basic standards of courteous customer service in this situation. I left feeling disappointed, disrespected, and certain that I would not return. For a restaurant with such a glamorous image, I expected much more professionalism and care.

We had an incredible experience visiting Drake's! Service was excellent - from the ease of complimentary valet to the attentiveness of our server and the staff. Food was fun and flavorful and I loved the slight Asian-inspired flair on their menu. The seafood is where they really shine, but everything we tried did not disappoint. The ambiance was cozy and old Hollywood style, from the red leather doors and booths to the music they played inside. Loved our entire experience and would 100% visit again!QUICK FACTS:- Parking? Complimentary valet is offered. There is street parking around the area as well.- Reservations? Yes, recommended. The restaurant has a max capacity of 99 people. FOOD RATINGS:- Grilled artichokes (5/5): These were tasty and unique. Loved the pistachio mixed with the garlic honey sauce and that the artichokes were peeled before being grilled so you could just eat the entire thing.- Ginger sushi roll (3.5/5): This was the special roll for the night. The sauce was good but the roll itself was pretty basic - just tuna and avocado. Still good though and thick pieces!- Caesar salad (4/5): Generous portion and I love little gem lettuce. Perfect amount of dressing in my opinion and good flavor. Would love to try the spicy one next time!- Hawaiian ribeye (4/5): Love the char on this. Adds a nice smoky flavor. The marinade is fantastic. Perfectly cooked to order.- Jumbo lump crab cake (5/5): A 1/2 LB crab cake! Seared and served with a basic beurre blanc sauce. The cake was mostly crab vs. breading which is amazing, and super fresh. - Lobster mac and cheese (5/5): My favorite side dish. They did not skimp on the lobster! And the cheese was so good. Some mac and cheeses are hit or miss. This was definitely a hit!- 24 layer strawberry cake (5/5): The best ending to the meal. Basically $1 per layer, but worth it! Genuine fresh strawberry flavor and not overly sweet. Served with an alcoholic strawberry sauce (we opted out of). I loved this cake!

We had an amazing experience at Drakes. The ambiance and service was incredible and everyone loved the food we got. Between the pizza, chicken parm, mac and cheese, and other sea food entrees, I would recommend almost anything on the menu. This has been one of my favorite meals in Dallas and I would certainly come back.

I've been wanting to try this place for years but needed an occasion and reason to venture to Dallas. My husband and I decided to have our anniversary dinner there. I love the vibe of the place. Very intimate and spacious enough at the same time. We were greeted and sat at our table. We had an excellent server who had plenty of recommendations. Started our meal with the spicy Caesar salad and crab Rangoon. We each got a steak, he got a tenderloin and I go the Shep's hawaiian ribeye. Then we split the macaroni. Everything and I mean everything was delicious! We can't wait to return for happy hour or a nice dinner!!!

Birthday Celebration #2- We headed to Drake's for the man's second celebration of the weekend, marking our second visit there. The menu had changed a bit since our last time, but the ambiance remained fantastic. We continue to love the attentive service and live music. For appetizers, we ordered the shrimp cocktail and crab scampi. The shrimp (4) were massive, and the cocktail sauce was spot on. The crab claws (5) were absolutely delicious, and the accompanying sauce was so good I saved it to use on my mashed potatoes. For our entrées, I had the crab cake, and he chose the ribeye (medium well), and we shared a side of mashed potatoes. The crab cake was outstanding, with a perfectly crisp top layer and plenty of flavorful crab. The ribeye was cooked exactly how he likes it--tender, flavorful, and just juicy enough (though I would have preferred medium).Drinks-wise, I enjoyed three Bogart's Gimlets and a shot of Don Julio Añejo, while he had three Manhattans, a shot of Michter's, and we split a beer. The drinks were tasty, but neither of us felt tipsy--interpret that as you will regarding the pour strength. We did mention we were celebrating a birthday, but there were no special treats or mentions for us. We noticed other tables receiving birthday cakes, cotton candy, etc., so it seems you might have to request or pay for those. Not a big deal, but worth noting for anyone expecting a complimentary celebration gesture.Overall, we had a great time and will definitely return for the ambiance, live music, and excellent food. The total cost was $436, including the tip.

Visited Drakes on a Thursday night with some friends for my birthday. I made a reservation ahead of time for a table of 4, the place was pretty crowded so I am glad I did. There is valet outside, and nearby street parking if you are up for a short walk. The restaurant itself has a dark, swanky ambiance. It gave old Hollywood vibes, which I liked. It was loud, but not necessarily by the music, there was a lot of people and they were having fun - not a bad thing! We ordered the loaded fries, cauliflower and drinks to start. The dirty martini and espresso martinis were good, but nothing to rave about. The fries were great, large enough for the 4 of us to pick at. I appreciated that the fries didn't get soggy while we ate. The cauliflower was good and carnivore approved! For the mains, we got the Cesar salad, jalapeno pizza, and the spicy vodka pasta. The pasta was my favorite of the three, although all were great - we were in carb heaven! We got the famous layered cake, I appreciated them cutting it for us into manageable portions. It was tasty, I loved the strawberry cake! It was pricey, but a great place to celebrate with a group of friends, or a special date night!

Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, Steak Tartare, Escargot, Shrimp Scampi, Spicy Caesar Salad, Creamed Spinach, Lobster Mac & Cheese, Classic Pizza, Pasta Za Za, Dry Aged Delmonico, Lemon Meringue Pie, Chocolate Silk PieThis meal was delightful! Really fun beautiful interior. We had a long table for our group on the couches, which were comfy and fun. The food was delicious and we were so lucky to get to try so many dishes!!! biggest highlights for me were the pasta za za (so nice and spicy and al dente!), the spicy Caesar salad (which is ginormous and great to share), and the chocolate silk pie (mindblwoingly good with some sort of magic crunch in it that is amazing). My delmonico steak was kind of dry tbh, not that impressive. Drinks were yummy!

Absolutely loved the decor in this place and the food was also incredible! The pasta za za is the best pasta I've had in Dallas. We got the spicy caesar to start; I loved the crunch, textures, and flavors! I also tried the shep's hawaiian ribeye and appreciated how well the tropical flavor complemented the steak. Finally, their classic mac & cheese is a must get side! I will say the guy at the host stand was rude, however - not only to me but other parties too.

Ambiance and service: 5/5 Pro tip!! Get an early reservation on a weekday!! Completely different experience in my opinion in comparison to a 7pm Saturday reservation. Especially if you want to take pictures. Went on a Monday for early dinner, and basically had the place to ourselves. It was probably us and three other tables in the restaurant. The lighting and decor 5/5! Our waitress was amazing and truly made it into an experience! Food: 5/5 We got the crispy rice, which was good, probably not the best I have ever had, but that is to be expected. The cauliflower dynamite was delicious! Both the pasta zaza and honey truffle chicken was delicious as well. The cake was also so yummy! Overall: They are very strict on dress code, so keep that in mind! Also, recommend getting a weekday reservation versus weekend.
