I believe this restaurant was the first Indian Restaurant opened in the Middletown area. And we're very much appreciates its presence in the MOT area. It offers both dine in and take out options. We prefer to dine in as the entrees tastes much better fresh out of the kitchen. The atmosphere is quite relaxing and soothing. The staff is attentive to your needs. Most importantly, all of the dishes are prepared and flavored authentically. We have not had a dish that we didn't enjoy. Portions served were plentiful, and pricing was reasonable. You may want to avoid peak time over the weekend as it can be busy. It's good to add this place to dine in the MOT area as it offers a terrific diverse culinary option.

The food was great. I had the chicken khadi.and my friend had the lamb curry.I asked for a mocktail, but it wasn't good. I should have sent it back. I was charged $12 for the drink. The service left a lot to be desired. Our server gave us water, after we were sitting for a while, and then we had to ask another server to get him so that we could order. When the bill came I noticed I was charged $4 for my naan, which was $3.50 on the menu. Very comfortable, clean, environment.

My friend made a reservation for this place a month in advance. They called her back to inform her to change her reservation from 2pm to 1:30pm since they close their kitchen from 3-5pm every day. No problem we don't mind. We arrived around 1:30pm and sat down promptly. I was about 10 mins late but my friends ordered their drinks before I arrived. For some reason the chai martinis came out and my other friend waited on her cocktail for awhile. We ordered some appetizers and got samosas which were good.My two friends are vegan and she asked if the chai martini had dairy and the waitress originally said it did not. Once it arrived, I took a sip of her martini since it looked like milk was in it. It was later confirmed that there was dairy involved. This can be very dangerous if she was allergic to dairy products instead of being vegan. We waited on our food for atleast 40mins. It was not 2:20pm. My other friend still didn't get her cocktail that she ordered yet. The waitress then came us to inform us that the restaurant will be closing in 10 mins, apologized that we needed to leave and offered to bag all our food up.We were shocked! Why let us make a 1:30pm reservation if you don't have the staff or time to make our food? So essentially we sat for an hour and got two cocktails and two orders of samosas...and now we were getting kicked out. The waitress kept apologizing that she didn't realize what time it was and went to the other table to also essentially kick them out too. If they couldn't handle our order and let us dine in why didn't they tell us ahead of time? I've never had this happen before. If we knew we would have left and went somewhere else to actually take our time and eat our food. We then paid our bill and left with our take out. They combined our rice portions into two boxes instead of individual orders (same with our garlic nann orders) and we found an alternative place to sit and eat. We also had to ask the waitress for utensils, take out containers to split our meals up and napkins to go (instead of placing it in the bag for us like regular take out). My two friends also got their cocktails they waited an hour for and had to chug them so we could leave. The food was okay...I got the mixed grill which should have came with chicken, lamb, and shrimp. I'm pretty sure I just got the chicken and shrimp and no lamb. Flavor overall it tasted the same and wasn't that great. Seemed like they rushed to make our food just to pack it up for us.Overall very disappointed in how we were just thrown out after spending all this money and the food was mediocre. Suggestions for next time: Tell your staff to inform the customers what time they close and if they don't order right away it will be placed in take out containers. If you can't make the food in time for people to enjoy at the restaurant then don't take the order (but they would lose money so they did what they did). Very disappointed. I've dined in many restaurants all over the country and have never been treated like this. Diners beware!

Another friend wanted to try Curry & Cocktails. We had more appetizers this time; an Indo-Chinese fried cauliflower in a spicy red sweet sauce (recommended!) and samosas. I thought the chatnis that go with the samosa could be more flavorful (they do lose punch over time) but that cauliflower, I'd go back for just that. It's kind of chewy, a bit like "General Tso's Chicken" but with cauliflower. Lots of flavor. We ordered extra mild because one of us can't eat ANY spicy food any more and had a yellow lentil soup (dal), butter chicken and saag paneer. Extra mild WAS extra mild, too mild for me in fact. I like some warmth even though my own doctor says "no to spicy foods". If you are customizing your heat, somewhere between medium (which is spicy but tolerable) and mild would give you some flavor. As it was, the saag paneer was not flavorful enough (it's bland due to being essentially creamed or buttered puree of spinach with homemade fresh cheese cubes) and the butter chicken could have used some spice for me. My dining buddy was very pleased with the soup and the chicken as he could not have spice. The moral of the story is; if you have people with you who can't tolerate spices, the kitchen can easily accommodate them. I found out I really do need a level of some spiciness even though I can't eat "hot!" anymore. The bar is in a semi-enclosed area with nice lighting so if you are going just for exotic cocktails, you can sip some kind of fruity boozy something in a pleasant space. We didn't get the drink menu but they have a separate list of beverages. The restaurant can accommodate larger parties at tables; we were

We've been supporting curry & cocktails since before and during the pandemic. Since then, we have gone to eat at the restaurant a few times now and consistently have a service issue. This last time we sat 20 mins before we had a waitress approach us about taking our drinks or order. Once we did get one, another 20 mins passed without receiving waters. I approached the wait staff and let them know we still don't have any waters and if we could get an ETA on the food, they said it will be out shortly and they will check on the status of our food. It was around the 40 min mark when they were bringing us waters and was told the food would be another 30 mins. That's when that we decided it was time to go as we needed our LO to eat. I want to point out that this is the not the first or second time this has happened. The last time this happened, we again sat without being waited on for some time, no utensils, drinks, and very slow to approach us. We know things are hard right now for some restaurants and we wanted to give it another chance. We kept thinking it was maybe just off days, but it seems that it's the same experience anytime we come. Again, this review is based on the service, not the food.

Food is good and service is on par too. I just feel that the pricing is a little high when you compare to other places and it could be more budget friendly to come again and again. Ambiance is good for an Indian restaurant.

The photos don't do the food justice! It tasted too good to worry about a quality photo! Super clean establishment. Alexis our waitress was great, very knowledgeable about the menu, super polite, and provided great service. The prices were amazing too. Very affordable for a large family, or for someone like me who doesn't want to cook all week!

Preface: I am not an expert at Indian food. I'm a firm believer that if something is in the title of the restaurant (Cocktail) you need to go with that.. hence the CURRY MANGORITA (tequila, margarita mix, mango juice, mix of curry masala powder and a dash of cayenne). I was being brave as I wasn't sure about that combo. I am so glad it did, it was amazing and I even had two! I got the mixed appetizer for two which was combination of vegetable samosa and vegetable pakora (my favorite, a crispy little fritter). The seasoning on the appetizers was extraordinary. The Paneer Pakora seemed dry and the spring rolls very doughy. But as I said, I'm not an expert. Two of folks at the table thought their chicken dishes were mixed up but we were assured they were correct. They looked and tasted too similar to me. I think the issue was that they mixed up the mild and hotness. However, I ordered Chicken Malai Kabab a spicy dish, so my tastebuds were already off. It said it was boneless chicken breast pieces marinated with ginger and garlic but it was covered in something red and super hot, even for me ( I love spice as long as it doesn't overpower the flavor, it did). So I can really only speak to the texture which was perfectly moist and tender. The garlic nan bread was perfect! The service... had to take it down a star here. It wasn't that the food took long, but actually getting served. When we arrive we were the only ones there. But still attended to very slowly and had to ask several times and still didn't get silverware or napkins until halfway through the appetizers. I think later on more help arrived because we started getting waters refilled. We were not asked at the end if we wanted dessert. I actually didn't think they had any until I looked here.

Unfortunately, my experience was not like the people who gave them more than one star (really should be a 0). The food was not good at all. I ordered the garlic naan, chili naan, malai Kofta, and samosas (all came to about $33, I left a 3 dollar tip for the takeout order). The only thing i ate was the samosas. they were ok, but the rest of food was not good. I tried the garlic naan. It was hard and brittle. after trying that I did not try the other naan. i dipped my fork in the kofta sauce and saw it was some type of curry which i cant eat. the picture did not have a curry sauce it was red , this was very light green and obviously different (which is why i ordered it to begin with). After taking it back to the greeter at the front desk, i was told WE DONT TAKE FOOD BACK UNLESS IT WAS OUR FAULT AS IN IF WE DONT MAKE IT RIGHT. wow. It's really the principal for me, ive been in plenty of restaurants where the food was not good and I've let the waitress know and the bill was comped or an alternative was given to make it right. As I'm speaking to her, I see the manager peeking through the back instead of coming up to the front to explain. The waitress even had an attitude when i told her the food was not as presented in the picture and I couldn't even eat it. Nevertheless. THEY WILL NOT SEE ME AGAIN, WE SHOULD BOTH BE GLAD FOR THAT. Just off of that the ambiance was terrible I'll be sure to visit a different restaurant close by as they do not value their customers experiences.
