Cuevas Mexican Restaurant

I placed an order to go so I can't comment on the dine in service. When I picked up the order, the staff was very nice. The food was delicious. I had the beef enchiladas.

Idk how anyone can eat for $10, maybe you just ordered lemonade? It was an awful experience! The server didn't explain that the pancakes were gigantic when I said their for my three year old! The food needed seasoning. My menudo was basically just the juice... in everything $55! Could've gone somewhere else...

We ordered a few dinner entrees from here. Our favorite was the beef fajita meat and the crispy tacos. Also ordered the chips and queso, which both tasted very fresh. Didn't care for the enchiladas or the barbacoa.

Classic, but plain Tex-Mex fare with an excellent view of Wharton's historic courthouse. The service was very friendly.

husband and i like this place, authentic laid back feel like home atmosphere. the waiter was kind & prompt. the price was good for the food being served and served fresh and hot, not to mention some of the best home made corn tortillas. we will be back.

Great Mexican comfort food. Very casual atmosphere. The dining room is a little worn around the edges, but it is clean and inviting. Waitress was polite and helpful, and the food was good. Good spot to choose to satiate my desire for some authentic Mexican cuisine.

Looking for Mexican food while passing through Wharton and Cuevas looked interesting. It is located on the town square. Looks to be a family owned place, and is family friendly. We sat down and we were welcomed by a soft spoken young man who brought us several (3) baskets of chips and salsa which are homemade. We also ordered guacamole which was freshly made and delicious! We ordered combination plates; beef fajitas and cheese enchiladas, tacos, rice and charro beans. Generous food portions, came quickly and were piping hot! Everything was seasoned well and quite enjoyable. The table tops were interesting as they had pictures and businesses from bygone years (some of which I remember from my youth). Also enjoyed the laidback atmosphere. Will definitely be back when passing through this way again. Check Cuevas out...great place to relax and enjoy authentic Mexican food!

This place is good food with quick service. Ordered the El Tejano plate under the Cuevas Specials, the rice and beans were good and the fajita taco had a little too much cheese over it ... however it was all very tasty. They did also bring chips and salsa to the table when we arrived!

Food was okay. Service was not so good. We were the only ones in the restaurant at the time and our waitress seemed like she didn't want to be there. We had to ask for coffee refills and she never came to our table to check on us. Will not be returning.

This excellent. I old Mexico cooking. Chips and salsa were super great. Definitely stopping back by next week
