Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Went on a Thursday because I wanted the turkey and dressing special.The waitress was extremely nice.The turkey portion was smaller than I remembered but it was surprisingly filling. They had run out of green beans and it wasn't even noon. What? Opted for fried okra.Everything was delicious.

I placed a catering order online. The confirmation email and text both directed me check in at one of the curbside spots. You'll even get a link to check in with the spot #. There are signs directing you to those parking spots. However, apparently, you're supposed to go to the back of the store to the white sketchy, not labeled, closed storage unit instead. I followed the instructions and checked in. 20 minutes later, I called the number they gave and no one answered. Grabbed my kids and went inside where they told me to go around back to the "white tent". #1, update your email and text instructions. #2, add signs for catering if you're supposed to go to a different location. #3, why didn't anyone come tell me this OR answer the phone??? If I didn't go inside I'd probably still be sitting there because no one CARED enough to tell me where to go.

Never disappoint for breakfast but now I have discovered their southern fried chicken omgggg so good

Good food as always but very LOUD! The kids were screaming everywhere. Our waitress was not the best. We had to ask for bread and refills on our drinks. Not at all the usual customer service we've had in past.However the cashier was extremely nice.

Our server Tia was phenomenal! We hadn't even sat down yet & she had already greeted us. Throughout our entire meal she was friendly & took care of everything we needed. We had just driven in from San Antonio & checked into our hotel. We told Tia my sister was graduating fr college the next morning. Before we left she came to the table with a dessert w Congrats written on the rim. She wasn't just an excellent server, she was a kind server who went above & beyond. I always take photos of our food but we had been so busy all morning/day/evening & had just driven in to Katy. So, I snapped some half eaten photos ‍ Everything we ordered was freshly cooked. It was all hot & delicious. We ordered the chicken pot pie, fried fish, Mommas breakfast, chicken tenders & a trio of appetizers. The mozzarella bites serving was tiny but they were really good. The dill pickle ranch that came w the fried pickles was so flavorful. It was so good that I want the recipe! My nieces best friend was in love with the Pot Pie. The chicken is chicken fried & then put inside the Pot Pie. She gave me a bite & you guys... it was scrumptious. This is a home cooked, mama's cookin' type of country restaurant. If you are opposed to country cooking... Get a salad. I have had a lot of salads in my life. When I come here I want their biscuits & slow cooked pot roast. (My mom had just made me pot roast for my bday on the 7th so I didn't order it but that's my favorite dinner here) I have never ordered anything here that wasn't good. When we go on family road trips across the US we look for Cracker Barrel's. Btw, the young man at the host stand was friendly also. All of the other staff was great. This was a wonderful dinner! Tia even saw me taking photos by the tree w my best friend since 4th grade (she lives in Katy & drove over to see us) and she offered to take photos for us. Total sweetheart. My sis is going to strangle me for posting the photo of her w Tia bc it is a BAD angle bc I was right next to my sis but I couldn't post without sharing a pic of Tia. If she is working, request her. You will not be disappointed bc she is amazing. Not just a 20% tip amazing.... She is far above that & I believe you should reward people for being amazing & working hard. Went on Easter Sunday. Put my name on the waitlist at 1:50 P.M. and got a text saying we were 34th in line and the wait was around 50 minutes. Got there at 2:25 P.M. and checked in. We were not seated until 3:45 P.M. I understand it was a holiday and they may have been short staffed. But the wait was way to long and no communication has to what was going on. As for the food, it was okay. My wife had chicken fried chicken and said the gravy tasted like a mix. Her fried okra was mushy and just didn't taste right. Others said their meal was okay. Service was slow but I'll chalk that up to being short staffed. Who knows? Maybe next time they'll get a higher rating.

Apparently this place opens at 7am. However at 7:35 on a Sunday the doors were locked and the person inside said they were closed. Didn't say if this was a fluke occurrence or if this is a new hours of operation. Just simply told me they weren't open and to leave. Clearly some disconnect here.

Pretty decent breakfast spot in Katy. I must say that I prefer it here over dennys or IHOP. I went on Good Friday and it was a packed house here. The server was pretty slow bc there's so much tables they have to attend to, but the food came out pretty quick. They have amazing soft biscuits that you must try. Loaded Hash brown casserole was also one of my favorites. I probably would come back if I'm ever feeling breakfast.

It's been a while since I've been to Cracker Barrel, and I don't think I've ever gone for breakfast. I had forgotten that they have a little country store that sells everything at the front. If you have kids, this is a great way for them to stay entertained and for your wallet to feel a little lighter when you leave. For breakfast, there was a decent crowd, but the space was big enough to where we didn't have to wait. My favorite thing about this place is the value of it all. I got the pancake plate that comes with 2 pancakes and a side, thinking that I wanted something small and it was only $7, so why not. I could not finish the meal! The 2 pancakes were decent sized, and you get a small side of protein! It was such a good deal! To be honest, I probably could split it with someone and still feel satisfied. My husband got the country boy plate that that was $14 and came out with way more food than we had expected. He got a seared ham, with eggs, and 2 sides. We definitely had leftovers to bring home. The quality of the food was okay. It wasn't mind blowing, but it does the job, and honestly, it was a pretty kid friendly place.
