"i love fuegos - it was my go-to spot in college station when i was in college. i always get the el presidente or southern comfort tacos. the el presidente is packed with chargrilled chicken, smoked bacon, fried avocado, pico de gallo, jack cheese, and chipotle ranch - seriously, it's life-changing. the southern comfort is hand-breaded fried chicken with chipotle cream corn, crispy potatoes, grilled onions, and fresh country pepper gravy - so flavorful. the portions are huge, so i always wish i could order and eat both! you order at the counter, and they bring the food out fast - super easy. it's been too long since i've had it, and i'm so happy they have one in san marcos - the perfect place to eat after shopping at the outlet malls!"

"If you are in Port Aransas in need of some Mexican food, look no further than La Playa!! This place has it all, Mexican food, Tex Mex, and Mexican-Seafood! They will have your traditional Mexican food, but a lot of the menu is a mixture of these foods with the local seafood! My all time favorite plate is the three seafood enchiladas, with shrimp, crab, and crawfish!! By far the tastiest item on the menu!! Their table-side guacamole is a MUST, it's so fresh and tasty! - the food is a 10/10, which is why I am rating this 5 stars, but the other aspects of this establishment you must look past in order to keep that 5 star rating. - the wait; there are NO reservations, so you must arrive at the restaurant (only one person in your party) between 3:45-4:00, In order to get your name on the "list", because when they open at doors at around 4:55 your entire party must be present when they call out the names to be seated. This time is extremely early to be ready for dinner, so you kind of have to revolve your whole day around getting ready for dinner so early. But, I'm okay with this earliness because the food is so good!! - The service; usually the service would be a 10/10 for me, because in previous times we've eaten here we had the delight of being seated and served by Susan, the best waitress I have ever had the pleasure of being served by!! She is the sweetest, kindest, most attentive person I have ever been hosted by, and she calls everyone things like "darlin", "young lady", and "sugar"! She's amazing at recommending items on the menu and constantly refills your chips and salsa!! But this past time I went, we were served by Adam. Don't get me wrong, he was an okay server, but he just wasnt as good as Susan. He talked in a very monotone voice, as he listed the daily specials he made nothing sound appealing because all of his words kind of merged into one long drowsy sentence. Every time chips or waters were refilled he would never grab the bowl or glass and fill it up away from the table, but rather he would happen to reach over my head to fill waters across the table and refill the chips. Pretty annoying! And I'm not sure if it was him or the kitchen, but it took about an hour for our main plates to arrive, which didn't make sense because all of the tables seated next to us at the same time we're packing up to-go boxes and leaving! Your experience at La Playa will definitely be made-or-broken depending on who you are served by! - one last thing is the payment: CASH ONLY! we did not know this our first time, but thankfully they have an ATM inside the restaurant! Just something to think about prior to arriving! - The bar is great! They have probably the most extensive selection of tequila (over 75 different bottles) in probably a 300 mile radius! They have probably 6 bottles of Clase Azul, so take advantage of that!! Also, parking is super tight, you will have a better chance of getting a spot at the baseball field 100 ft down the street than at the restaurant, so just find what you can! - All in All, this place is very good, so don't let the payments or severs alter your amazing Mexican Seafood dining experience!!"

"Perfect place to fill your belly after a long day of water activities in the Texas heat! The margaritas are PEREFECT. Everything you're looking for in a frozen margarita. Or if you choose, get a huge mug of draft beer to wash down your chips. Now I'm not one to get food that isn't the type of cuisine of the restaurant, however, my husband tested the chicken fried steak topped with Queso and pico, and both of us agree, it's the best chicken fried steak we've ever had. And that's saying a lot coming from two home-grown Texans. The batter is so perfectly light and crispy, steak tender, and the jalepenos on top add the perfect kick. My quesadillas and enchilada were perfectly satisfying, and overall, we left with me complaining I ate too much. When in New Braunfels, eat at Adobe Cafe."

"I've been going to Garcia's since I was a teenager and it NEVER disappoints. The food is incredibly simple Mexican dishes done REALLY well. If you come in expecting anything else, you'll be disappointed, but I never am. I love the salsa! Always getting lots of chips and salsa refills. The crunchy taco plate is usually my go to, but last time I tried the Combo Plate and I think it's my new favorite. Service is pretty good, but it gets busy so just have to keep that in mind. And it's super laidback atmosphere. Very casual which I love! Plus you really can't beat the prices!!"

A fellow customer overheard me tell her this was our first time getting puffy tacos and she told me that this was her FAVORITE place for puffy tacos. She has been coming for YEARS. We ordered 2 puffy taco plates, one with the tortilla soup and then a few puffed tacos on the side. We all agreed that the puffy tacos were AMAZING. The soup was just ok. I offered for chicken to be in it but I didn't see any. I added some of the salsa to it to make it more flavorful.As for the free chips and salsa... wow. The salsa is SPICY. I like spice and it was hot. The interior and the restrooms were the nicest. Felt more "dive" or "hole in the wall-ish." We're not fancy though. We'll definitely return when we're in town next!"

We were seated promptly and tended to with a lot of attention. We each had the cheese enchilada plate along with some grilled jalapeños. The enchiladas were delicious although the cheese was very Tex-Mex. I don't know even know if it was cheddar or American, but the flavor was good and the texture of the enchiladas was solid. The beans were excellent and reminded me of a good homemade meal. The rice wasn't bad although it was a bit tomatoey. But that is one way of making it - it just wasn't to my taste. Overall, though for a great meal at a very reasonable price, this is the spot."

If you order some breakfast items after 11 a.m., there is an additional charge. They provide small cups of vanilla to add to your coffee, and it sweetens it perfectly. Ask for the vanilla cups if you don't automatically get them with your coffee. The salsa for the chips had the perfect spice to it, and I could not put them down. It unfortunately ruined my appetite for my actual meal, lol"

Restaurant is located just a little outside of town. Parking is not as good especially during peak hours so get there earlier than usual. Mexican, Tex-Mex, and American food is offered so a pretty good mix. Canned and bottled drinks available. They offer Mexican drinks. I have ordered different dishes and all the meals are pretty tasty. Tacos are good. In this visit you can see what was ordered. I believe that the portion sizes are good, pricing is decent, and the staff are very friendly and courteous. If you are looking for a fast, simple meal in the area, come here and get yourself taken care of. My to go meal here is the tortilla soup but they don't serve it on Saturdays. Overall the food is great, sitting is good, staff are cool, and the bathrooms are clean. Good job Palm."

They have Tex-mex, as well as traditional Mexican dishes, and great seafood options. Everything they have is worth trying. My parents love this place and stop by regularly. I was off work and on the island; had a delicious lunch with them here. Dad had told me good things about the Mexican hamburger. I tried it. Wow! A large fresh made beef patty, Monterrey jack cheese, avocado, lettuce, tomatoes, and served with a side of waffle cut fries. I want to stop by and get another one soon. I followed it up with their flan for dessert. They make the best flan. Has a great thick and creamy consistency to it and just right on the sweetness. Love it! If your in Galveston and want some delicious Mexican food for lunch or dinner you must try Los Lazos restaurant. Highly recommended!"

I noticed that they have Saturday lunch specials which is rare to see at restaurants since specials are usually Monday- Friday. That was a plus!! So when you think about it Zamora's has special mon- sat. My husband had the fajita plates. As per my Husband good flavor, good quantity but would have liked less bell peppers and onions. I had the caldo de res, good portion very good flavor if you are looking to eat something that your mom would make this is it. The only thing I would change a bit was leave the meat a little bit longer cooking to be a bit soft, but that's just me. Price : very reasonable, our tab was about $21 which is not bad for the lunch we had. We are definitely going back and trying more of their food items"

The place is narrow and some tables are tight but where we sat was easy to move around. Service: ladies were quick to bring us drinks, take our orders, and bring out our food, but they did not check up on us. Not the most friendly staff.Food: I ordered the asada and egg taco. We were offered chips and salsa as we waited. The salsa had a good flavor, but the chips were a bit stale. My asada egg taco was very generous portion and the asada was tender. We were given 3 kinds of salsa to eat with the tacos. They were all delicious and the creamy one was the spiciest. If I had one compliant the salsa are either too runny or too thick. Bathroom: old with a need of a refresh. It was hard to tell if it was dirty or just old. Fair cleanliness"

I ordered 2 small tripa (beef tripe) tacos with a side of Charro beans. Most places give you a different cut of meat when serving fajitas. This place actually served fajita meat and it was Delish. The tripa tacos were good but I would of liked them a little crisper.Overall, everything was excellent including the service. The waitresses regularly asked if we needed anything and the portions were spot on. If craving Tex Mex while in Victoria, this is the place to go."
