What an absolute disaster! My wife ordered a margarita and instead of the $16 price on the menu the waiter "upgraded" the tequila to make it $26 without telling us. She ordered a second one, same result. We ordered starters and mains. Three servers arrived with everything at the same time, furiously moving things around our table. I ended up with my wife's half finished coctail and one component of her starter on my side of the table. We finally got our waiters attention and got the main course sent back to the kitchen. I picked up my knife to slice into my burratta stuffed heirloom tomato, but couldn't cut it because the knife was dull, like a butter knife. Also tomato wasn't ripe. I had to leave the table to find someone to get a knife sharp enough to cut the tomato. I the tried the lukewarm mushroom soup which was inedibly salty; waiter and kitchen agreed. Waiter was unfamiliar with menu: Blackened snapper does/does not have shellfish? Ordered with snapper with sauce on the side but couldn't stop server from pouring sauce on dish. "No," "Stop" "Para" "Arret:" nothing worked. We had to wait for the dish to be redone. My terrine of foie gras was actually delicious, but not much of a dinner. Worst of all, the Maitre d' Sylvain Denis was standing by the bar enjoying a drink, watching this clown-show unfold and did nothing to fix it.We had been so excited to come to this restaurant after wonderful experiences at Le Mistral. Cocody could not have been more different. We left having spent well over $200, 90 minute and tremendous aggravation and frustration. Luckily for me, we had leftovers at home. Please learn from our mistake and don't repeat it. FWIW, i've reached out to the restaurant twice without response. I don't think that they care It appears from the website that Sylvain and David are not owners and have nothing to lose. I hope the owners read this in time to fix things or at least start coming up with a replacement concept.

I came here for a birthday dinner and it was great. My dinner and drinks were delicious. I had the tiger prawn and I would totally order it again. Our server was very helpful when we asked questions. The restaurant is very pretty and it seemed like everyone was having a great time.

I was torn between giving 3 or 2 stars. Honestly the service we received killed it for us. We had a large reservation for a group of us. The waiter was rude and made rude comments. I had to ask for a straw several separate times and he said to me "you asked me three times I'll get it when I take everyone's order" about 15 minutes had gone by since the first time he asked to begin with. It doesn't take 15 minutes and a smart comment to get a straw. His attitude got better through the evening. But a few other comments had been made to our guests that were unnecessary. The food was good the scallops were phenomenal! The Lamb is good the gnocchi not so much it was fairly dry. Are mini baguettes were hard as a rock. The drinks were extremely strong and not well balanced in my opinion, several members of our group didn't like the drinks because the flavors just didn't go together well. Overall food presentation is great, the restaurant is beautiful. Parking isn't terrible because it has valet. But rude service can truly ruin an experience. Our group in total cost over $1300 so it was unacceptable to have unwarranted poor service at that cost.

Best New Houston restaurant. amazing, amazing, amazing. Gorgeous interior. Insane presentation of food. Perfection of french classics. Professional staff and accommodating for my grandmother who needed a quieter section in the restaurant to hear, one con was the bathroom was upstairs and without an elevator (hard for her to get upstairs). Highly recommend and can't wait to come back and try other dishes!

Unsure why this place is getting a bad score so early on. Came on a week night with a girlfriend & we absolutely loved Cocody. The interior is stunning from the moment you walk in, the service was great. The manager even came over to check how I liked my mocktail (I'm pregnant). For starter we split the potato & burrata apps, clam pasta for an entree & sorbet trio for dessert. The pasta was delicious, will absolutely order again! Def give this place a try if you haven't yet.

What a lively fun place with excellent ambiance and presentation of dishes. Fun experience and the food was more around B+. Still very good and accessible to more people versus even more upscale exclusive places. Fish was excellent, tried halibut and the snapper. Great polenta. Wild mushroom soup was very good. Bone in ribeye with the French name was also very good and marbled. Loved the presentation, steam, decor, design. Fun place to share dishes with a small group.

My friend and I came in for the first time, with open expectations. I came in first and was welcomed and greeted immediately as they literally opened the door for me. I was taken to my table quickly. I would recommend a resy, the place is busy. The decor is certainly asethetically pleasing. Someone with an eye for design did this place. And while looks are important, it's never as important as the food, at a restaurant, for me.Service - Tyler was our server, and he made a good first impression. He shook our hands and ensured he learned and used our names and used our names throughout the meal. I appreciate that he took his time and checked on us frequently. There was a lot of staff present in the room. There were drink runners and bussers etc. A lot of wait staff/managers were just observing in the dining room. Drinks - we had what we were told a sommelier in training. But she didn't seem to have much knowledge. My dining partner and I ordered a bottle of champagne. Food - we decided to try their tasting menu, called Dsiscovery. I did this so I could try more options and get a real sense of the direction from the chef. The only caveat with this choice is that the entire group must do it. If you have a party of 6, then all 6 must order. But we had a party of 2, so it was easy.Course 1- Hudson Valley Foie Gras Terrain. I think the brioche bread and the pate were a slight mismatch. The sweetness of the other items didn't help.Course 2- Open-faced East Coast Lobster Ravioli. This was my least favorite dish. The lobster was not poached well. The emulsion was fine. But the ravioli was not good, soggy, not even al dente. I could not identify the artichoke ettouffee. Maybe it was reduced in the emulsion? This dish needs a total re vamp. Course 3- Roasted Domestic Squab. This was my favorite of the entire meal. Well composed dish, tasty mushrooms, and panchetta underneath. Course 4 - Carmel & Chocolate marbling comb dessert. This had a cool design, but the chocolate did not leave that richness of dessert. I would have rather had my friends cheese plate instead. One thing I noted is that we never got a bread course? I'm not sure if it was not offered because we had the pre fixed menu, but I would have liked being offered this? As I saw other guests next to us getting a bread course prior too there meal. I think this is an IG focused place. It looks great for pictures, etc, but if you're looking for food, it may not be it. But give it a try. You may love it.

Sometimes you want to treat yourself, enjoy delicious food and be pampered by the experience. If you agree, you should try Cocody. When I walked in I felt like I was stepping into an era of Glamour. The hostess greeted me right away and since I was the first in my party she gave me a choice to be seated or wait for my dining companion. I wanted to wait so I could observe the bar. When my dining companion arrived we were seated and they came to offer drinks and answer questions. We were told the kitchen prefers to know our appetizer and entree choices to plan service. Also the Sommelier also stopped by to offer assistance. We decided on the Table Smoked East Coast Scallops (cooked to perfection and the sauce was so tasty) and French Mini Baguettes (crispy outside and soft tender inside, pair with spreads... so good). For the Entrees we selected House Bucatini (it was almost too pretty to eat... but I did and every little morsel, the pasta was just right and the dish was full of flavor) and Free Range bone-in roasted chicken Breast (dining companion commented it was one of the best chicken dishes). I also ordered a GiGi (very refreshing). To finish I ordered the seasonal Anjou Pear Carpaccio (it is so nice to see dairy-free options on a menu, delicately sliced pieces of pear that were loaded with flavor and topped with a cube of sangria sorbet.. I wanted to lick the plate clean). This is a good date night restaurant or night out with friends. Don't forget to make a reservation. For the most part, service was attentive. There were a couple times we had to call the server. I would come back. Apologies this is a late review.
