I was in the Atlanta-Metro area for Mothers' Day weekend. We were hungry and my niece suggested City BBQ for lunch. I didn't really know what to expect since I'd never been here or heard of it. We placed the Party Pack order that feeds 8-10 people online for pick up and it took about 30 minutes to prepare. It's a 5-7 minute drive so I got there a little early. The interior was high energy to say the least. You can see the staff on the line moving like a well-oiled machine. Every employee was busy doing something. I was asked by 4 different staff members if I had been helped. All of them asked my name, checked on my order and came back to let me know that they were working on it and I should have it shortly. While I waited, I noticed that the dining area was packed along with the patio. A couple people came in with minor complaints and the lady that helped them was very professional and patient. Now it's my turn and the gentleman packing my order gives me a nod to let me know that it's ready. With everything I just witnessed during my wait and the smell inside, I was now excited for this. Upon taking the items out of the bag, I noticed an item was missing. Ok....since it wasn't that far I said to myself that I'll just drive up there with the receipt and let them know. Instead, I called first and a gentleman by the name of Cory (not sure of his spelling) answered the phone. I let him know that I was missing an item from the order. He in a very polite and helpful way let me know that when I have time to come back to the store for that item. He also said that when I arrive, to let whoever I speak to know that I talked to Cory regarding that item. I drove back to the restaurant, got the item, and left. While I was there, the gentleman I spoke with was very apologetic and polite. I'm not sure what I was expecting but I tell you what, it wasn't anything I mentioned above. Coming from Los Angeles, this type of service doesn't exist. Every person I encountered couldn't have been more of a pleasure to deal with. Southern hospitality is a real thing, and you will witness it firsthand at this City BBQ location. I was so hungry I forgot to take pictures of the food and the restaurant. I'll be back for sure, and I'll do better. Lol. Good Job City Barbeque in McDonough. The food was as good as the service.

Nothing to see here folks! Sorry, Team City Barbecue but I wasn't impressed with my experience. The customer service and carry out container were the highlights of my visit. I have to admit that I did go in at about 6 o'clock on Sunday, so maybe because of this they were out of a lot of things. Firstly, they were out of vinegar coleslaw, they were out of smoked turkey, they were out of something else I wasn't going to get it anyway, but I don't recall what it was.I initially went there for the smoked turkey, and ended up getting a combo meal with brisket and smoked sausage. Both were basic, in fact, the smoked sausage was a brand that I bought from Sam's. Nothing special whatsoever about it. The baked beans were blah, and the green beans had some strange seasoning in it that I could not put my finger on, but I ended up not eating either of the sides. My Texas toast was dark and overcooked. So literally I just ended up eating the meat again. The only reason I am giving three stars is because of the customer service, the takeout containers & sweet tea.

Visited this new restaurant and it was totally packed in the parking lot and inside the restaurant. Great modern decor inside! Lots of drink choices and bbq sauce choices. My favorite was the Low Co. (a mustard-based sauce). The Texas Reuben sandwich was really great. The pastrami was lean and tender with a great flavor. The beef brisket was fatty with a lot of gristle... not very good. The Mac and cheese was amazing, especially with the bbq sauce added to it! The collard greens were a disappointment, as they were too salty to even finish. The food was good, but I feel a bit too pricy for the amount you received, as you had to pay extra for any sides or drinks. The service was great, but it was on the louder side in the restaurant, so it was difficult to hear any of the workers calling order names or even the person taking your order. Will definitely visit again, but make different food choices and order ahead via online.

This was my first time here and I had a great experience. This place is still new so it was very busy but the food still came quickly and it was absolutely delicious. I ordered the pastrami sandwich, 1 pound of Brisket, potato salad and the green beans with bacon. The brisket was fantastic. It's was Smokey, juicy, flavorful, tender without completely falling apart and had some decent bark on it. I loved the potato salad as well as the collard greens that I tried. I hope this restaurant keeps this quality as time goes on because they have something really good going.

Drove by here for a late lunch and they were no place to park. I went home and ordered online. I am literally 5 minutes from this place. It cost me about $50 the food was ok. Was not a fan of the Mac and cheese nor the greens. The BBQ was really good and so was the sauce. I also ordered a peach cobble and it was way too sweet, it had more sugar than anything else. The corn muffin was really good as well.

His new location off of Jodeco Road is beautiful clean and has a drive through. However, I could give zero stars I would. They definitely will not have to worry about me going to their establishment again. I waited 45 minutes in the drive-through line only to be told they were out of wings, which was one of the items I ordered when I pulled up. I switched to regular chicken and I was asked to pull up out of the drive-through line. In the meantime, I asked for my ribs, which were cold tasted plain so I didn't even finish them. So I waited another 30 minutes, I still did not have my food so I went in and I asked for my money back. They were crowded. They are possibly going through growing pains since they are newer. The icing on the cake was when I asked my money back very politely I never even got an apologyfrom the manager. It was my first and last time going there.

I got the chicken, brisket and turkey, pretty tasty coming from a Texan who loves bbq, turkey was a little dry and I was a bit caught off guard by the shredded chicken. Baked beans were good, Cole slaw was Meh (needs mores seasoning). Other than that, nice clean place I would visit again!
