Ciccio Mio was one of the best dining experiences I have had in a very long time. The entry foyer greets you with sultry vibe with a plush sofa and walls lined with bottles of wine. It is a great sitting area for those waiting for a table and an introduction to the overall ambience of the restaurant. The dining area has a throwback setting that is warm, elegant, and inviting. The decor and low lighting is reminiscent of an a classic small speakeasy filled with velvet banquette seating and leather chairs, adding to the intimate experience. The perfect soundtrack of music was playing at a level that was a lovely addition to the overall feel without being loud and distracting. My wife and I loved that it was small and intimate with great acoustics which kept it quiet enough to have good dinner conversation. We dined with another couple and started with Antipasti of Burrata and Truffle Mozzerella Sticks, both of which were delicious. Our entrees consisted of Spicy Vodka Rigatoni, Orecchiette Pugliesi, and Lasagna Bolognese Rotolo. We paired the food with 2 bottles of Italian reds. All of the entrees had amazing flavors. Some lasagna can be very heavy but this was light, creamy, and not at all filling. It was an amazing take on a classic. The waitstaff was well dressed, knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. My wife ordered a special of Lobster Ravioli and the server told her she was in luck because they only had one left. He returned a short time later and apologetically informed her that the last one had just been served and the offered her a free entree of her choosing. Of our 3 evening and lunch dining experience in Chicago, (all at Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurants) Ciccio Mio was head and shoulders above the others and was a prefect dining experience.

We wanted to try a fancy restaurant since we are from out of town and the ambience in this place is at 10 out of 10. I would recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a nice date night reservations to go very quickly so just be sure to set an alarm to schedule a reservation as soon as the date opens we were able to get a very nice table inside. Our server was extremely professional and hospitable. He answered all of our questions and made great recommendations. We had the braised beef, short ribs with polenta, and I have to say that it is some of the best beef I've ever tried. We also had the lasagna which was delicious.People were wearing a mix of attire. Some people came in jeans and tennis shoes others were dressed up a little bit more so I would say dressy casual would probably be your best option.

NEW FAV !!! If you haven't been, you must do yourself a favor. First of all, get the burrata. They import it weekly from Italy and you can taste the difference. Second, you can't go wrong with this menu and I highly recommend doing courses and sharing because you must try as much as possible. The patio is cute but the inside of the restaurant is stunning...intimate and romantic - perfect for a date night or anniversary. Will be back. 10/10.

It's an upscale Italian restaurant with delicious food and very good wine. We had the Caesar salad and the truffle mozzarella sticks as an antipasto and it was mouthwatering. We also had the gnocchi and then a special lobster ravioli, which was super delicious. My favorite though was the tiramisu. This one is probably the best I've ever had. The staff were super friendly and attentive. The decor was beautiful.

WOW!! I married into an Italian family and have been having amazing Italian food for the past 15 years and have high standards for food and service regardless of the cuisine. BUT Ciccio Mio is above and beyond anything I've ever experienced... here's the run-down of our dinner:We had an early table, we didn't plan well but were lucky to snag the reservation. Showed up on time and greeted by name, seated in a mostly-full dinning room with a 'happy birthday' card for the birthday-guy we were celebrating.Welcomed, in short time, by our server and ordered a dirty martini and a puccini. Both were delicious and exactly as you would expect. BUT get this... I was drinking my martini on the slower side (trying to behave through the evening) and another server brought me a second chilled martini glass so that my drink would get warm. I've NEVER had this offer made and it was a delight! Not only was the attention to detail noticed but I felt so cared for.We started with the antipasta platter - where I found, for the first time, that I like burrata. I've tried it a dozen times, but this burrata was special and different and delightful. We ordered the following mains:* ORECCHIETTE PUGLIESE - which was loaded with sausage and the right amount of spice but more importantly the orecchiette was perfect. It held the meat and oils so well.* LASAGNA BOLOGNESE ROTOLO - a TREAT! The pasta is so light and the sauce so delicate.* RICOTTA GNOCCHI - the best item we ordered. Light. Airy. The gnocchi are pan fried on one side giving them the texture that you want and the sage butter finishes every bite.* MUSHROOM CARBONARA - what in the holy moly was this delight?! Button mushrooms, bacon, etc. Serve this side with some polenta and I would be done for the night. Then there was dessert. Since we were celebrating a birthday, there was a birthday gelato delivered to the table, which was such a wonderful gesture. We ordered the TIRAMISU and again, best ever. The lady-fingers were perfect. Not soft not hard. Just. WOW!

We had an absolutely delightful experience at Ciccio Mío! The food was delicious, and the service was top-notch. Here's a quick rundown of our meal:- **Pasta**: Perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The sauce was rich and creamy, and the portion size was just right. - **Chicken Parm**: A classic done right! The chicken was tender and juicy, with a crispy, well-seasoned breading. The marinara sauce had a wonderful homemade taste, and the melted cheese on top was just the right amount.- **House Salad**: Fresh and crisp, with a nice mix of greens and a tangy vinaigrette. It was a great start to our meal and paired well with the heavier main courses.- **Toasted Almond Gelato**: This was the perfect way to end our meal. Creamy and smooth with a delightful toasted almond flavor that wasn't too overpowering. Overall, Ciccio Mío is a gem! We will definitely be back to try more dishes. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience.

I've now been here twice, both for what I would consider to be special occasions, and the food has exceeded expectations each time. It's tough to get a reservation, so set an alarm for 30 days in advance and book what you can find. I managed to get some normal times when I've come here, but this place is worth a 9:30pm dinner if that's what you need to do to get in. Honestly the restaurant is so dark inside it might as well be 9:30 even if you're there at noon, but I guess that's the intimate romantic vibe they are going for.Everything from the appetizers (the burrata is my favorite), to the pastas (spicy rigatoni is amazing), to the entrees and desserts is so good. The only items I may not recommend are the truffle mozzarella sticks (yes, perhaps I could've seen this one coming ordering mozz sticks at a classy restaurant, but no it was not my decision to order these) and the asparagus (was fine, but rather bland). The service was a bit disappointingly slow the second time I was there, but I don't put too much weight into that.Go give it a try - it's not cheap, but the food is fantastic and you likely will not be disappointed.

Came here again and I just love it! Our waitress was so sweet and overall great vibes!Started with meatballs/caesar salad and bread service. The salad was great, crunch with lots of parm and great flavor! I would get again! Meatballs were also great. For my main obviously had to get the spicy vodka rig. This is just the absolute best in the city. Nothing compares.Last time I came here I really wanted to try the gelato. They were out. This time they were out again. One day I will try this gelato!!

W-O-W is how I would overall rate this restaurant! Everything from the experience and ambiance to the food and service was immaculate to say the least! We got lucky because we attempted doing a walk-in (without reservations), and were fortunate enough to snag a couple of seats in their front room (the main dining room was for reservations only). I'd say if you're planning ahead, you should definitely make a reservation because the front room probably can only fit 6 - 8 guests comfortably. Our host immediately offered to check our coats for us and checked in with us throughout the dining experience! As for the food, their Chicken Parmesan was probably one of the best ones I've ever had (definitely shareable)! Crispy yet cheesy, with a tender and juicy inside. The Lasagne Bolognese is a classic dish and cooked to perfection with 3 huge rolls of pasta. Although the Spicy Shrimp Pasta was delicious, it didn't really have a spicy kick to it, so we asked for some red pepper flakes on the side to enhance the spiciness. Finally, don't be fooled by the side of Vesuvio Potatoes because they come in a huge portion (also very shareable) and paired very well with the rest of the dishes -- crispy on the outside while soft on the inside!I'm so grateful we came here for our 1-year anniversary dinner, and the classic ambiance (with jazz music playing in the background) will provide a romantic and unforgettable experience -- I have no doubt you won't be disappointed! :)

The ambiance in this restaurant is beautiful. Very intimate & romantic with an old time feel to it. It is very tiny on the inside & the tables here are in very high demand. After two attempts of setting an alarm on my phone for when the new reservations open up, I was finally was able to get a spot here. My favorite part of the night was that Ciccio Mio put out a little "Happy Anniversary" sign for us and brought us out a free dessert for our ~celebration~ This really added to our experience and made it a more memorable and special one. I appreciated the thoughtfulness a ton. Our food was good, but I have to be honest this was not the best Italian I've had in Chicago. My favorite thing we ordered was the focaccia bread. We finished the whole loaf between the two of us - it was so good. It came with a whipped ricotta, but I honestly thought it was better with just butter. I wish it came with olive oil, parmesan, and black pepper because I think that would have been better than the ricotta too. We really liked the two pasta dishes we got, but weren't blown away. My boyfriend & I agreed the Ricotta Gnocchi should have been an appetizer or something you share with a group of people because it was soooo rich. We both only had 2 bites of it and then couldn't stomach much more because it was so heavy. Still really good, just a lot to finish with only two people. We like the spicy shrimp better it wasn't as heavy, but still very flavorful. I have to say I was just a little disappointed after my experience. As hard as it was to get a reservation, I thought this was going to be the best restaurant I've ever been too, but it wasn't :/ I think the only and main reason I would recommend coming here would be just for the ambiance inside.
