Always a good time when I come here. This time I came for a double date with my family and my bf (cute, I know!) for Valentine's Day. This is my third time coming here with my bf so we were accustomed to calling in our reservation which we made a couple of weeks in advance. As soon as we came in, you are instantaneously hit with the yummy aroma of cooked meats and veggies. It's honest to God, a scent that is drool worthy. We ordered up the Chungkiwa special which is a lovely mixture of meats and seafoods. We got our ban chan and our kimchi fried rice.As usual, the customer service was prime as the sweet, young lady was our sever. She was so quick, attentive and kind. We never felt like we were a burden to her as this restaurant was pretty busy tonight. All in all, this place is amazing. The main reason my bf and I treated my family here was for them to get a slice of Korean bbq heaven and what better time then for Valentine's Day?!? They thoroughly enjoyed the food and the customer service. The food was plentiful and tasty. You can tell that the quality of meat is good and not only that, we absolutely love the cast iron grill everything is cooked on. It helps to ensure that everything is cool evenly and it cooks the meat fast which is much appreciated. This place has an old school charm to it which I really enjoy. The meal ended with a Haagen Dazs bar which was super yummy! Overall, I've said it before and I'll say it again; this place is awesome! When in doubt, try this place out and I can promise you won't regret it

this place is a prime example of "big fish, small pond". not many kbbq places outside chicago, so i'm assuming that's why this place has such high ratings. 4.7 stars is a HUGE overshoot in my opinion.nobody on yelp had taken a pic of their recent menus (so i did, ur welcome), and they don't have a website with it either. i'd assume a kbbq place (like every single other one), would have brisket. it's the most basic, simple kbbq meat. but this place didn't have it. there also isn't any nice sides like corn cheese. in lieu of brisket, i decided to order bulgolgi. and while its listed under the "kbbq" section of the menu, they're not bringing out the raw meat for you to grill like kbbq. it just comes out on a hot plate. i didn't mind this, but it's a little deceiving to list it under this category. the bulgolgi was okay, but nothing special.my boyfriend ordered yukgaejang since there weren't many good meat options for the kbbq, and it was a little subpar in my opinion. had barely any spice to it and the meat wasn't nice and shredded like how the dish is supposed to be. it was more-so just little chunks of beef and some of them had some fat on it. the dish didn't seem like a spectacular, spicy yukgaejang that i'm used to tasting anywhere in california.the staff was friendly and they gave hagaan daaz ice cream for free at the conclusion of the meal. the place is a little tiny, so id recommend a reservation if you choose to come here (it was pretty dead for a weekend when i went though). overall, i wouldn't come back here and would try to find a more authentic restaurant for soups or a place that has traditional kbbq meats, sides & dipping sauces.

This a special place he had a very good time it was packed when we got here and when we got seated they where very apologetic. The food was very good and the place was very clean. The person who seated us kept a bowing and apologizing...very humble...when we paid the bull he turned out to be the owner of the restaurant and even gave us a tour of his collection in the other room...this was really a bizarre and very memorable experience and we are definitely coming back. Thanks

A la cart korean bbq place. (No AYCE option). The decor is very interesting and entertaining. The service was great. Very friendly and helpful. The banchan was good. We each got a carb entree (cold buckwheat noodles, seafood noodles, etc). And then split a combo bbq tray. The meat platter had a good amount for 4 people. The meat was well marinated and cooked well. Even the chicken was dark meat and super tender and juicy after bbq.Highly recommend this place! Would love to come back and try more off their menu.

From the outside looking in, I didn't think this place looked like it would be a good kbbq location. I was pleasantly surprised, though. I went here with a group of four and was seated rather quickly. The combination grill platter has a selection of nicely seasoned meats, including some seafood options. I'd say that with four people, you may need to order two of the main dishes with it to feel really full. For a party of two or three, this option would probably be enough, though. Though I didn't take a picture of the stone pot bi bim bap, it was probably my favorite part of the meal. Each of the side dishes was well portioned and tasted pretty good as well. The dumpling soup comes with the combination platter and actually had a nice flavor. There were two bowls total that came with the main entree. Another thing I did not expect was that I'd be getting complementary Häagen-Dazs ice cream. I didn't do any research on this place before going, so this was pretty nice. I am taking a star away because one of the servers kept getting really close and personal. Normally, I don't mind this, but it happened quite a bit and felt kinda awkward for the people on the edge of the booth. Would probably still come back, though.

Was driving past the place looking for place for a quick dinner. Place is presentable, and the deco has various South American figurines, and I almost mistook this as a Latin American restaurant if not for the words 'Korean BBQ' on their store windows. Ordered a Beef Stew soup with rice that came with various side dishes. They even offered me a Häagen-Dazs ice cream at the end of the meal (free). Great service.

Great food honestly. If you want Korean food this place is great to goto. AYCE is always good which most people want at a Korean BBQ place but if you want quality food/meat and are willing to pay for meat that is still has good portion. This is the best place to go-to. Service is great and accommodating. I strongly recommend

Yummy food we tried for lunch today. Had previously come on a Fri night without a reservation (not smart, do not recommend). Had soy bean sprouts, cucumbers, kimchee for banchan. Refilled on request. Wish there were as one other options because banchan is my favorite part of the meal. We don't eat red meat so no bbq for us but everyone else was cooking away. It smelled good! I got the cod in the hot pot. Good but wish it had more veggies (a bit of squash/zucchini, green onion, onion, and jalapeños). The chunks of tofu were delicious. My kiddo had spicy ramen. He took home a giant container for leftovers. The pancake was a little greasy but good. The spicy shrimp bokum was surprisingly spicy enough for my husband. My son had octopus bokum leftovers (as a teenager) so the portions are large. They all went crazy for the Oreo ice cream bars. VERY nice and responsive staff.

The food was absolutely amazing. The staff were very attentive and kind. Truly made us feel at home, the service was some of the best I've experienced. The ambiance was perfect. The portion sizes are huge, we accidentally ordered way more food than we could eat, we didn't expect portions to be as big. Everything tasted delicious. My favorite was the "yook gae jang" the broth was so flavorful and felt like it healed my soul. We will be coming back.

***** just left a review last week and saved my best meal in chi town for last day here ... kalbi did not disappoint. Ordered the regular Korean galbi #3? And the LA Kalbi. LA galbi I thought was crazy good, wasn't expecting it to be so tasty. Their Ssam jang (Korean bean paste comes with galbi to eat with lettuce wrap) tastes like my grandmothers back from Korea. Can't compliment this place enough... service is outstanding as well. They deserve a Michelin. Thank you for an awesome last night out!!!PS my dogs loved the galbi bones ... they gobbled it up
