After hearing so much hype about this place, I can finally add my name to the growing list of Chubby Cattle fans. What's there not to love about an AYCE spot that delivers on its promise of great hot pot + sushi + appetizers? Usually, AYCE doesn't deliver on quality, but this place gets it right on everything. Ordering food is delightfully convenient with the help of the iPad, and service here is pretty quick. For appetizers, our faves were fried chicken and scallion pancakes. Their sushi and sashimi were also surprisingly fresh and good. I loved everything we ordered, especially their salmon nigiri and dragon roll. For hotpot, our group was seated at a table with individual pots so we get to try different types of broth. I ordered the Sukiyaki broth and I was addicted. The sweet and rich flavor of the soup complemented so well with the meat slices that I simply couldn't stop eating. The house-made ponzu sauce was also next-level. Can't wait to go back!

My family went here to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. It was supposed to be an enjoyable experience. It was not.First off, booths need to be replaced or reupholstered. My child kept complaining about the seating making her thighs uncomfortable. Secondly, the sushi was subpar. The rice was cold and texture didn't seem freshly made.Third of all, the "wagyu" hot pot meat did not look or taste like wagyu. Seems like they advertised it as wagyu when it's probably fatty brisket or ribeye. Such a shame. Finally, my last straw is they charged adult price $40 for my 7 year old who is 51 inches tall. Unbelievable. They charge by height, but even so he did not eat anywhere near an adult's appetite to be charging that much. For my 4 year old they charged $20, even that is a bit absurd to me. It's a little shady that they didn't bring out the ruler before we started eating. Had I known, then we definitely would've gone elsewhere. Overall, this is not a kid or family friendly place. I would much rather spend close to $200 at another establishment and get quality food and enjoy a nicer atmosphere for the amount we spent here. Will not return and will not recommend this restaurant to others. There are so many hot pot places in Chinatown, Philadelphia. Very disappointed I chose this restaurant for our celebratory dinner.

I like this place! This was my first real hot pot experience, so I was definitely excited to dine here. For one price ($40 if I'm not mistaken), you get all the ingredients you want plus unlimited sushi. I mean who can resist? The sushi was pretty good for being all-you-can-eat, and all the cuts of meat they provided us with were super flavorful and cooked well in the broth. I was pleased with their selection of ingredients as well, and there's something for everybody, from carnivores to vegans. My only complaint was that one of the seats at our table was broken, and the temperature/thermostat was not working correctly for that particular hotpot. Luckily that was not my spot, but obviously you always want everyone in your party to have a good time.Overall I did enjoy my experience here and hope to be back.

Came here for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. Not busy at all and we had the restaurant all to ourselves. Ordering was easy as we were provided a tablet and the food came out really fast. We did the all you can eat hot pot and sushi for $38.99/ person. There is a conveyor belt that goes around for the sushi, although the choices on there were quite limited. If you want other options, you would need to order from the tablet. I'm not sure if it was because it was a slower day, but something to keep in mind if you go during the same time. There were a few different soup bases for the hot pot. We posted the tomato ox tail and the sukiyaki. First thing I noticed with the tomato ox tail was there was no ox tail. No ox tail in both the flavoring nor the actual ox tail. It just felt like a regular tomato broth. The sukiyaki was extremely salty. Options were plenty, with wagu, brisket, pork belly, different mushrooms, different tofu, seafood options, noodles, the list goes on. You can also order appetizers, fried rice, etc, all of which are included in the price. Also, the sauce tray they bring out is quite convenient. Overall, we had fun and a great place to go with friends or on a date. Service was very friendly and accommodating.

Where I live doesn't have any hot pot restaurants, so I had to drive to Philly for this place, but it was definitely worth it! On rainy days like this one, I crave a nourishing protein & veggie packed soup & what an awesome place this is to offer all you can eat Wagyu Hotpot AND Sushi for only $39.95/pp!They're located in the Chinatown neighborhood of Philly surrounded by tons of tasty looking boba shops, markets & restaurants. We had no issues finding street parking & there was no wait for an early dinner. They have an iPad for ordering as much as your heart desires - just be mindful of having excessive waste because you'll be charged by the pound. You can also grab ready made sushi rolls from the conveyor belt! I loved all the rolls I tried & even got an unagi (eel) hand roll as well as some sashimi. The hotpot beef selections all consist of domestic Wagyu so every bite will be tender & melt in your mouth!

This was my first hot pot experience and won't be my last. As a lover of soup, I enjoyed this experience. This review is solely on the hot pot experience as I didn't taste any of the conveyor belt items. The ingredients were fresh and the broth base was flavorful. Be careful not to over order as there is a surcharge for food not eaten. Our server was not as attentive as we would have liked. After taking our order, we barely saw him again.

So worth the money! The place was roomy and the food was good. We got 2 shabu and then some sashimi. The sashimi wasn't the absolute best but it is an all you can eat joint. The shabu was good and the meat was good tho they don't have a ton of choices but enough. We ordered meats and seafood. They have a few soup bases to choose from and that was good. Our waiter was nice and explained everything since we had not been there before. Again, the price is right and the food was good. We were full.

Service 10/10 Food 8.7/10 Interior 9/10 + Clean Bathroom Overall for $40 this place is a great deal. Though - the sashimi was inconsistent and cut kind of weird . There isn't many options and some meats are cut really thick - the tastes of them all kind of merge. The soy sauce was super sweet like sugar was added making the sashimi difficult to eat. They have a nice variety of condiments and a good variety of seafood and veggie options.

I recently visited Chubby Cattle for a hot pot experience and left quite impressed, especially with the quality of the meats. The wagyu beef, lamb, and tongue were the stars of the meal--each slice was tender, flavorful, and cooked beautifully in the broth. Speaking of the broth, it was average, lacking a bit of the depth and richness I've enjoyed at other hot pot restaurants. The side sauces also didn't quite hit the mark for me, with fewer customization options than I'd hoped for. The servers had to get some of the spices to the table to make the side vs going to a counter like other places. Despite these minor letdowns, the excellent meat selections make Chubby Cattle well worth a visit. Solid four stars.

A Party of 2 dined in on Friday evening Around 5:15 pm, I called to see if we could reserve the table but was told that reservations are available for only four or more groups of people And they were not busy at the moment. My friend arrived first while I was struggling to find a park since it's street parking in busy ChinatownThey told my friend that there was one hour and half limit for dining and they would start the clock 10 minutes after she sat. I wanted to sit on the first stair but they said there was about an hour wait for the first story, but in the second story, there was some sitting available. We had no choice but to sit there. (there is no conveyor belt upstairs) At each table, there was a tablet that you could use to place an order Upstairs was set up more for family, so the hot pot was not individually set up. My friend and I picked a pot separated into two parts to have individual broth on each side. We placed a bunch of orders, but regardless how many portions we ordered, they brought small quantities. I had to ask them to get extraDue to a system error, our sushi and roll order did not go in, so they had to fix that There was sauce platter that goes around to serve all tables.... so the server had to take it from us to serve other tables and bring us back, etcThe table behind us was there longer than us, but the server came to us and informed us that the time was over but would extend 15 more minutes and wouldn't charge a fee for leftover food.I usually would have been more upset about inconvenience, rules and restrictions,But the service was good! She tried her best to make sure we got what we ordered and to make our dining experience pleasant For that, I gave more stars The choice was limited, but The food was decent for the price as well.
