Stopped by during construction and had the most delicious gumbo and fried catfish and snagged a bottle of Superior Crack Smoked Sea Salt. The outdoor seating was the perfect ambiance for gumbo. The owner provided the type of service that makes you want to remove your shoes and stay for a while. This place is a staple in Atlanta and I'm trying to be a regular!

I decided to order the "Fall Hash with Baby Kale" from Chop Shop as a side to bring to Thanksgiving. It had butternut squash, rutabagas, sweet potatoes, and onions with garlic, creole mustard, rosemary, thyme, baby kale, and olive oil. One quart was $24 and I got 2. The assortment sounded amazing but the dish fell flat for me. When I went to pick up my order I saw they had a selection of fresh, hot hand pies. They were out of the Thai chicken curry one but had some frozen ones available. The hand pie was good but again nothing particularly memorable and felt a bit overpriced at $10.On the positive side they have an extensive selection of meats and it's a cute space. I'd be willing to go and try something else as they had some other items that sounded promising but likely only if I were in the area. They have a small parking lot next to the store and turnover in the shop seems quick so if the lot is full chances are someone will be coming out soon.Note: Take my review with a grain of salt as ultimately this is a butcher shop and I didn't order any cuts of meat.

A GREAT BUTCHER SHOP IN ATLANTA!chop shop is the sister company of the pine street market in Avondale estates. i think the chop shop has a better meat selection than PSM with more variety. if you're looking for anything in particular, i recommend calling beforehand to see their stock. usually they have a pretty good beef and pork selection. I've gotten a variety of cuts and they're always really good. you can really taste the difference between conventional meat and high quality local meat. yes, it is more expensive, but to me it's worth it. they also carry some local brands which i really love. additionally, they have a small fresh produce selection along with farm eggs, homemade broth, and other provisions. if you're ever at the chop shop during the week, they usually do some lunch specials like specialty sandwiches. i know in the past they've done meatball subs, Philly cheesesteaks, etc. I've never had them, but they look delicious! if you're interested, follow them on Instagram for more info. they also have popups near the store. right now la chingana is popping up there regularly from thursdays-saturdays. the sandwiches are delicious and i highly recommend stopping by for that!parking is not an issue. there is a parking lot near the store, and I've never had a problem with finding a spot.

The staff was nice and the meat was very fresh. Kind of expensive however. They had good cuts of meat but for the price there should be higher grades of marbling and more rare cuts like Japanese or Australian wagyu and different dry aged varieties

Finally we have a neighborhood butcher. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and informative. I'm pretty ignorant in regards to different meats types, and never felt judged by my ignorance. They also have spices available for purchase. Don't forget to try out their lunch! It is delightful.

Best place in town to buy your stuff their meats are good the sausages are good. Nice guy that runs the place I highly recommend them you need to go.

I got a fresh cut steak from them and it was tge best steak i have ever grilled. They have a good selection of sausages and other meats

Wonderful butcher! We moved from Midtown and were sad about leaving our butcher there. This is a gem to the Kirkwood/East Lake area. The meats we've gotten from here have been top notch. On our way there now to get ground meat for dinner. So happy this place is here.
