i think this place is closed now....hasn't been opened in weeks...Hmmmm. Last time i had it, it was solid tho. Got the mango chicken with rice and broccoli. It's "mid" but for the neighborhood it works. Or "worked".

Passing by multiple times, I was surprised to see a new restaurant open where many have failed: at the corner of 40th and Chestnut. Taking the place of the failed Winterfell Bubble Tea, I thought, "Well they're probably going out of business." But when I took the chance to actually try it, I've never been so wrong. You're going to want to trust me here. This is legitimately one of the best value places in Philadelphia, if not one of the best Fried Chicken places. Starting off, we had an amazing service from the staff. They helped guide us through their menu and was patient as we went back and forth between the numerous enticing options. We had finally decided on getting two of the lunch bowls with shrimp and teriyaki chicken, alongside the 20 piece fried chicken. I gotta emphasize the prices here: around 8.50 for each bowl, and 11 dollars for each 10 pieces of fried chicken (which also comes with a large bag of fries).In each bowl comes a delicious mixture of rice and vegetables that fill out the rest of your container. The smokey aftertaste that come with the vegetables push your expectations for vegetables to an all-time high. Each bite left me on my own cloud in vegetable-heaven, only to be met with teriyaki chicken angels dancing around me as it rained down white rice (don't get the brown rice, it's way too dry).In University City, there's not many places to get GOOD fried chicken for a reasonable price. Chix & Chicks changes that. 100%. The wings filled my large appetite as I felt the stunning crunch of the fried wings against my teeth. The spicy garlic sauce stunned my tastebuds to get their saliva buddies to digest everything down as soon as possible.There is nothing more amazing then the feeling of satisfcatioin after a well-valued and well-timed meal. Support this place. Go out there and get that CHIX.

Never went because I thought it was just a normal chicken place, but my friend convinced me to go... not disappointed! Chix & Chicks is more so chicken/seafood/sandwich place with some Asian fast-food options. As a group, we tried the tenders, wings, and rice bowls. The tenders were super juicy and crisp; the wings were super saucy and well coated. The rice bowls were pretty balanced if you're looking for some veggies in your meal. Our favorite sauce was the sesame garlic. Perfectly sweet and umami. We also got fries, which weren't my favorite. They had a great hearty flavor, but it wasn't as crispy as the fries. The owners are super kind and even knows my friend on a first name basis! They know how to run a small business well, both with customer service and food quality. Will be sure to drop by anytime I'm craving tenders/wings!!

This meal had really good value, and might just be a new gem in University city. For such affordable prices, you get a full decently sized meal that is quite delicious.I had the chili garlic chicken, while my friend had the crispy fish and fries. Both of which were just delicious. I had been to one of their chains in the past in center city - chix and bowl, and it was just as good.This is definitely a spot I can see myself coming back to in the middle of classes or at the end of the day. Come here to support a new local business in the University city area!

The food was okay, perfectly portioned for lunch but while waiting for my food i saw too many customers complain about their bill, extra charges for items that should have been included , another customer complained she didn't receive the correct change (she paid $40 but was given change for $30) , the menu prices were different than the posted signs and the wait time was longer than anticipated. It's a new business so hiccups are expected but what isn't acceptable is rude service.

I've been there for so many times, the food is really good and price is good the server is very nice and talkative, I like their service and professional attitude

Cute place. Had been to their CC location previously. Went for the first time this weekend and had a spicy garlic chicken, brown rice bowl with steamed veggies. Chicken was tender, flavor was great. Woman working the kitchen and counter was upbeat and charming. Will be back!

I always get the fish rice bowl here. All I have to say is fantastic. The rice bowl will come with the veggie + free sauce on the side. I will come back every day for lunch.
