We needed a specific Chinese liquor and they were the only ones who carried Baijiu, a funky feet or farm animal smelling liquor but it's what someone requested. Our journey led us here. First, I must tell you, don't be offended when they follow you. I'm Asian too and they follow me. They do that to everyone. They do this in China too. Accept it as a culture thing. From my experience in China they hover and stare. No difference here. Take it as authenticity. Besides having exotic Chinese liquors they also have a wide selection of whiskies but ready to shell out a hefty price.

Very clean and very well lit. A lot of variety of wine, cognac, sake, and international selections. They have a few beer selections in the back but not much. This is my go to for sake and cognac. They have rare bottles so if you're looking for that, I would check here. There's really not much to say but straight forward. Staff is nice and don't hover but are there if you need help. However, there may be a language barrier.

Hub and I did a shopping day in the area and wandered in. What a lovely, clean, and upscale store. You know how most local liquor stores are just FUSTY inside, you know, that cross between funky, musty, and definitely dusty? Not this place. I was impressed by the high end selections and happy to see many options that were reasonably priced as well. The western style wines and spirits are well represented here as well as many interesting Asian options that tickled our fancy. Darcy, the salesperson who worked with us was lovely, lively, and knowledgeable. I wish every store had someone like her to work with. Honest. She recommended a spirit to us that we purchased a really good price and are now holding on to for a fun occasion when we can uncork it with friends. I will definitely come back by, especially if I want a gift for someone special.

Beware of expensive liquor they carry. Check if it has a seal but most importantly the taste, they are known for counterfeit alcohol here.

I wonder why I bother with China Place Liquor City. It has shorter store hours and very few selections. Because it looks so fancy, I wonder Washington Ho shops here.I came here for a regular sized rum. A very friendly lady greeted me spoken in Mandarin with Cantonese accent. She showed me the shelf where rums are sitting. They got huge bottle of Captain Morgan Spiced Rum for $20-something and huge bottle of 1888 Rum for $39.99. nothing in between.Prices are reasonable but... Not for me.

I've always wanted to go to that Japan country, and that Korea area, and also that China Place. Well you can come to China Place and get drunk now, so yay. It's the typical liquor store located right in the heart of Chinatown, which offers several different types of liquor, including a lot of imports, which is super fun.I love using local stores instead of the usual corporate crap, and this is a great example of a good one, which also sells some Asian Goods which are excellent.

rude ladies who stare you down as you shop, don't know how to do math, overpriced drinks, clearly do not know the state's laws regarding selling alcohol products.

Overpriced. Prices for asian wines are 2 to 3 times higher than grocery stores nearby.

This is def a 5 star spot. This place is clean, well organized, and I will be coming back. The inside is like a diamond jewelry place. Very nice displays. When I walked in I thought their prices were gonna be high because the inside is so nice. It's like walking into a ferrari dealership. Needless to say, the prices are on par with every where else I shop. I live in Austin but next time I'm in Houston I will go out of my way to bring my wife here. The total experience. Keep it up!
