I agree the decor is not that great but when I was visiting in Philly walking through the Chinatown section I decided to check this place out. Typical chinese "take out" or just good for lunch specials type place. I got the general tso's chicken and chicken with broccoli together as combo type deal. It was not that expensive and it served its purpose. I was pretty hungry. I missed out on the other food option I was really looking forward to in the Terminal Market but this was a good last minute replacement just to eat something. I am sure there were much better chinese places around (Even some that had the PEOPLE LOVE US ON YELP STICKER) but this was good just for the money value though. Defintely not that attractive looking inside to sit down and eat.

One of most economical Chinese American food in china town Philadelphia. They have average prices, nice welcome host, not a fancy place. Also not a super duper nice food, I would say " if you have only $10 bill and want to eat Chinese, this the Place for you .

This restaurant totally sucked. I ordered lamb soup and only got lamb fat on bones. Maybe I'll give it another chance. Service kind of sucked. Soup bare. Major disappointment.

This place deserves more credit. Authentic food at an affordable price, owners are super friendly and definitely felt that they were genuinely trying to continue the traditions of proper Fujianese food (try out their signature fish balls). If you're looking for a fancy, posh looking restaurant, then this place is not for you. But if you're looking to be a local to experience something new, a snack or some sort, at an expendable price, then China King is the place to go.

China King is a Fuzhou (Foo chow) restaurant that also serves "standard" lunch specials. For those of us trying to go Atkins, this is the place to be! They tend to load their lunch specials with more meat than most other places. So, you can just skip the included rice and still have a filling meal. I haven't tried the Fuzhou food yet, but there appears to be a nice selection for people who like it.American menu: http://chinatown.adampowell.com/ChinaKingA.htmFuzhou menu: http://www.adampowell.com/chinatown/ChinaKingF.htm

This is a local spot that all walks of life came in to grab a bite. The service was like your aunty is the owner and was super sweet. The tea was fantastic (Oolong) and the fried rice was so good, we ordered some to take back on our trip home. The spring rolls were not as great but they were not awful. It had an old school charm, from the plates to showing Lunar New Year celebrations in China from previous years on the tv. I will definitely stop by for a bite when I'm in town.

We were out with my sister in Chinatown and wanted to grab dinner. As we wandered toward the place we ate last time (bc I'm a creature of habit), we stumbled across China King. A quick peek at Yelp on my phone showed Yelpers gave this place an A-OK. The place isn't in top shape; quite the contrary, it's a bit divey and run down looking but the woman working there was nice. There was a bit of a language barrier but we managed to place our orders without a ton of difficulty. I thoroughly enjoyed my steamed chicken and broccoli with fried rice. In fact, I ate nearly my whole plate (which is really uncommon for me!). The food tasted fresh and came out at the perfect temperature. The only downside is that the fortune cookies were stale. I don't usually eat them anyway though. And it can get very loud in there if a big group comes in. There was a table of about 4-5 that came in while we were eating and they were so loud; we couldn't even hear one another. Oh, they are cash only as well!
