Cute market where we got papaya. So good and sweet. We actually came here for the little restaurant which our friends recommended. Came here with the boyfriend and three friends. They recomended the beef gordita and it did not disappoint. They have a small area to sit down and eat.

This place is amazing! Their tacos are flavorful and so tasty. Homemade tortillas and salsa. I had tacos de lengua (beef tongue), chorizo, huitlacoche and pastor.

This is a hidden gem, located in a neighborhood grocery store. It was a great experience the two times I have gone here--got a steak burrito both times. I've had my fair share of burritos from other places, but the ones from La Placita standout for multiple reasons. These burritos are larger than most other places. I attribute this to the fact that they are extremely generous with the amount of meat and cheese they use, which results in a burrito that has a larger diameter compared to many others. Both times I ordered from here, I was only able to eat half the burrito and saved the other half for the next day (and the reheated leftover tasted just as good!). They also do a nice "finish" on the burrito by making a crispy edge which keeps the burrito closed. The flavor is really good too! I should also mention the prices are really reasonable! A huge steak burrito for just under $9...you can't beat that!

They have a vegetarian burrito option!I ordered on a Sunday night, and it was ready in about 10 minutes. The burrito was SO good and flavorful. And the portion was huge, so it was definitely worth it.The beans and rice are also good here. Sometimes I just order that when I get a random craving for it. I definitely recommend this place!There is street parking. And if you're going in quickly to pick up something and there's no street parking, there's also a Walgreens parking lot right next to it that you can probably park at if it's a quick pick up.There is no outside dining. It's strictly to-go right now.

Delicious Mexican food! It's a hidden gem. Staff is friendly & service is great. The taco dinner had so much flavor. Very nice portions. The salsa was also very flavorful. The ambiance is also super authentic. Makes me feel like I'm in Mexico. I love it! I would highly recommend this place!Deliciosa comida mexicana! Es una joya escondida. Fast service, cheap prices & good food.The ladies behind the counter are nice always busy cooking the food that has an authentic flavor.Plenty of parking available on the street or the parking lot on the side of the building.

This place was great. It looks like a family restaurant and the service was great. The best chips and salsa I have had at a Mexican restaurant in Chicago. I highly recommend. Doesn't look like much from the outside but typically that's how you know the Mexican food is good.
