One of my fav taco spots. Best in Lincoln Square. Cash only, so make sure you're prepared (though there is an ATM! It wasn't working once when I was there.) Delicious fresh tacos.

I was pumped last week when I had some cash (normally low on physical cash on hand) and decided to treat myself to this cash only Mexican spot for some really tasty dinner. I'm normally an Al Pastor gal, but decided to also try their Carne Asada as its what they're known for. I got one of each of those tacos, a side of rice & beans, and a side of guacamole. I thought the guacamole (small, not side) came with chips, but I didn't realize they weren't included until I got home. Not a big deal as I had a bag open I wanted to use up. But something I'll keep in mind next time to check before I leave. (You can always dine in, too, but at peak times it'll probably be busy. There are a decent number of tables with booths, not unlike a diner.) I think I'm a convert (here, at least) for the carne over the pastor! The guacamole is super fresh and really tasty. I liked the pastor but the carne was better. Oddly enough, I really liked the side of rice and beans with cheese. Simple but so comforting! Keep in mind: CASH ONLY!P.S. I'm a baby with spice heat, so get lots of green and red salsa if you like the fire!

THE BEST CARNE ASADA TACOS ON THE NW SIDE OF CHICAGO. PERIOD. Grew up on this place and not much has changed, especially being cash only. May have to do some manual math because you don't get a receipt sometimes FYI. Their crunchy chips and salsa are a delicious blend of heaven. They also offer a variety of drinks including Guava Jarrito- a rariety!I've heard good things about all of their food but I always stick with their carne. Tastes like a summer time block party -fresh off the grill!

We came here at around 11pm on a Friday night. They were pretty busy with a lot of takeout orders. We decided to dine. The crew here was great. It was late at night, they still had smiles and the kitchen was bumping some good music. Don't forget it is also CASH ONLY. I ordered a carne Asada taco and a lengua taco. Both were very delicious. They use skirt steak of their Asada and fill the tacos up with meat. The lengua was cut thick, and was cooked perfectly. Very tender and flavorful. I put some red salsa on the Asada taco and green salsa on the lengua. My wife ordered an Al pastor taco and it was just as delicious. They also give you chips and salsa when dining in. Will definitely be returning when in the area.

This place is the best authentic Mexican restaurant in Chicago! The food is consistent, fresh, and super flavorful! Although pricey, you'll see that every time, it serves and is completely worth it and totally satisfying. Staff is always super sweet and welcoming too!

I was craving tacos and this came up as highly recommended as a hole in the wall taco place in the north side. So we made the drive over and walked up to the register to order. The lady at the cash register was very kind and helpful. The place seemed very busy and portion sizes seemed large as well. Ambiance is a very hustle and bustle type of place. The food overall was decent. I was impressed with portion sizes, but I believe the food lacked that tang of flavor. If the meat was seasoned well, this would easily be a 5 star hole in the wall taco place. If there's anything that can be done with that it would make the world of difference. Also, the chips and salsa were extra which isn't always ideal. Chips were kind of hard and cold as well.I also appreciated the water cooler for anyone to fill up for cups of water. Although, it would be great if there were napkins there for anyone to grab rather than having to ask for extra. Overall, not too bad, quick service and decent portions. Add more flavor and it's a winner.

Came here for lunch as a recommendation from a colleague. It's at the corner of a pretty busy intersection, so parking is limited but theres free spots within walking distance.I ordered the carne asada torta with a side of rice and beans. Exceptional food and service but kind of over pricier compared to other places in the area. While I really liked the food, this place is also cash only which is a bit disappointing. In an age where we have cards, digital payments, etc., places that refuse to take anything else is always a disappointment. There's an ATM inside but who likes to pay for ATM fees, especially when you're already paying for pricier street food?I'm occasionally in the area, so i'll likely pop in from time to time to try some other menu items but only if I have cash on me.

Some great food here!! And friendly service. Had 3 tacos (asada, chicken, and Al pastor) topped with cilantro and onion. All the meat was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. Their red and green salsas also delicious and not too spicy or too bland. My husband had the Chile relleno burrito that also did not disappoint, had lettuce, tomato, onions, & beans. Will definitely be back when in the area.

Moved here from Texas a couple years ago and have struggled to find great Mexican food on the north side a bit - this was really great, casual, quick, fairly priced, authentic, etc. Guac and chips and carne asada were so good and fresh. CASH ONLY don't forget!!!
