"When it's over 45 minutes to get a table for four but all I have to say is it was so worth the wait. Who would have known that Chicago had this hidden gem.Ordered:*Fried Chicken Nuggets -KarAge-*Sashimi Carpaccio*Original Tonkotsu*Spicy roasted garlic ramenHonestly the food was really tasty. Expect a wait because its definitely a tasty spot. Service was really good. The place is clean with a modern vibe. If I went back to Chicago right now or even in the future, this is one of those spots that I would definitely come back to. This Yelper gives it two thumbs up. You gotta trust my recommendation on this one. I brought my two kids and there was no issues.Tips:*Dim lighting inside. *indoor seating only. *Offers alcohol. *Street parking. *Restroom for customers only.* Closed Monday* First come first serve only and at most can comfortably Seat 8 to 10 people. * No delivery on online orders only for pick up* You can also purchase gift cards"
"Great sized patio and fun vibe. The food was good and the beer was reasonably priced. Service was friendly and quick. Great spot for lunch or to watch the game."

The place has an impressive selection of wines from different countries! I cannot comment on the food as we didn't try any, but the bottle of wine was definitely good. The place has a nice patio and indoor space as well. The server was quite friendly; overall, it had a good vibe. I would try this place again if I'm in the neighborhood!"
"Came across this place in Bartlett when visiting the coffee house next to it. It was an unexpectedly good surprise. Le P'Tit Resto sounds like it has lots of French stuff, but it's more than that though. Actually because it's not French at all. This turned out to be a Spanish tapas bar and restaurant. A fancy sounding place to be sure, but it turned out it really wasn't that bad. Instead of sitting in the coffee house, we came here and sat at the bar for some drinks and tapas. Things were a pretty good value. It's about $6 for a pint of one of the interesting sounding beers. They had one from Vera Brewery called Pistachio Cream Ale, and this tasted like it. As for the tapas, we got the cheapest we could. It's about $9 for the White Bean Hummus. This was cannellini beans and extra virgin olive oil, topped with giardiniera and served with naan pieces. For sure I could go here again. It's pretty affordable for a tapas bar, to be honest. This is a great option if not feeling hungry enough for big meals, and need something a lot simpler."
"Ahh! This used to be Cesar's, remember that? This is the same size as Cesar's but a whole new look. They have drag shows every weekend. The staff and service is fantastic."
"This place was delicious. It was located in our hotel and the food was delectable. I loved my Serrano Benedict. It was savory and creamy with its hollandaise sauce that glazed over the benedict. The Gambas Ajillo (garlic shrimp) did not disappoint either. We also got their Escalivada Omelet were not too shabby."
"Came here for a Sunday solo brunch. I sat at the bar and the service was great. I was surprised how empty the bar was during brunch time. I ordered the Huevos Estilo Valencia that was tasty. The reason for 4 stars is that the mimosas were super heavy on the orange juice and not worth the price. I would return for dinner sometime."
"Absolutely fantastic! Whether sitting at the terrace section or inside. The service is superb. Professional and friendly staff. Prices are good and portions, too. Flavors are amazing.Make a reservation, this place can get busy.Good location, easy paid parking nearby. Food and drinks are phenomenal. Hostesses were extremely helpful too."
"Cozy, beautiful and delightful! Everything about FIGO surpassed my wine bar expectations. I was here with a group of 7 and we absolutely loved our experience here.We were greeted with friendly smiles as soon as we walked in and were seated within minutes. Originally our reservations was for 5, however, we had 2 additional people and the staff accommodated us without any issues. They even offered the private space, since we were celebrating a bach party, but we opted to stay in the main area. Service throughout was exceptional. They also brought out complimentary champagne and cheesecake to keep the party going. OMG the wine selection and food menu?!?! STOPPPPPPPPPPPP. I went for the Merlot/Cab blend and it was smooth and delicious. Not as bold as I'm used too and I'm OK with that! It was sooooooo good! They also have cocktails, mocktails, spirits and beers. For food we ordered arancini, truffle fries and created our own meat and cheese board. Everything was fresh and divine. 4 apps + the meat and cheese board was the perfect amount for our group of 7. We left satisfied and not overly full. This is the ideal spot for a girls night out or date night. I really enjoyed my time here and can't wait to come back. =)"
"The staff was super nice and people seemed to enjoy the drinks. The food was just meh. Most concerning to me was their cleanliness or lack thereof. See photos. Not sure what that is on one of the swinging seats upstairs but it looks like old dried vomit that has been there for a while which causes me to question how well (or often) the place is cleaned. It was gross and I was genuinely reluctant to eat because of it. Made me wonder if this is what the dining and bar area looks like...what's happening in the kitchen?"
"opened last week : SUPER authentic & now my favorite in Chicago. I swear , Chicago has almost zero authentic Thai restaurants. Every Thai person I meet (you know who you are!) doesn't eat out because they get disappointed.I've been on the longest journey trying to find the best authentic Thai restaurant in Chicago and I might've found mine! HIGHLIGHTS 100% Thai chef, owner, & waiters. Please say hi to Eicq and welcome him to Chicago! He just moved here 5 months ago and the day we met him was the first day he was on the job!authentic ingredients, spices & herbs . Exactly how it tastes in Thailand, even the thai tea (less sweet), and mango sticky rice Thai spicy available! The owner made the Pad Cha for me, at 70% spicy SO GOOD and the papaya salad at 100% Thai spicy. Absolutely perfect. Crying like I did in Krabi note; EICQ orders his 200%-300% spicy , so if you're Thai this is an option! If you can't eat spicy, you should get 30-50% Absolutely PHENOMENAL grilled items. Im already craving the Moo Ping & grilled Steak. Seriously charcoal grilled to perfection with super tender meats + amazing flavor Super cute Thai dishes & cups, traditional & so pretty! With big portions Amazing seafood , especially if you love it the Pad Cha Cha Cha had tender octopus, scallop, mussels, shrimp, fish, and 2x mushrooms + all the peppercorns, chilli's, and basil I could dream of They have DURIAN Or MANGO STICKY RICE YESSSWhat we got:Nam tok $12.99 Grill beef +$4Tom Tard big app with Som Tum papaya salad $45.99Side sticky rice $3 x2Moo ping grilled pork $12.99 Pad Cha Cha Cha $28.99 Mango Sticky Rice $9.99Thai iced tea less sweet $6 x2Chang beer $5.95"
"For my last review of 2022, I have to say I do love this location. I believed a second location was opened, I had visited the original location on Ashland. It turns out that location had closed. Which was told by our server, which was phenomenal he made our experience amazing. Hats off to him.Very clean and spacious location, plenty of space. With seating at the bar. Friendly staff as I mentioned. Our server went above and behind. The food was top notch, the sangria was amazing. The taste is one of a kind. The pitcher is the best option, perfect for two people or more. I am thankful for the new location, about an 8 to 10 minute walk from the western blue line stop. I am thankful for the experience, I will be back soon. They will open a Rooftop section over the summer. Something to look forward to. I can't wait."

I got the Hakata Red Ramen and thought it was pretty good. People are nuts for saying this is the "best ramen they've ever had", but it was good. My critiques and why I give them a 4/5 is the stinginess. I've never been to a ramen place that charged you extra to make the dish spicier. I love my spicy food, but i'm not going to pay extra for it when every other place i've been to keeps chili powder or chili oil on the tables to adjust it to your liking.I also paid for the $2 "butter + corn" and i swear to god they give you like 10 kernels in a little container you'd put ketchup in. the butter slice was also the skinniest little sliver of butter. was definitely a rip off.now for the dish, i thought the broth was rich and tasty. i would personally give the spiciness level a 2.5/10. the noodles were great though! i came here on a saturday night and the wait was an hour and a half. the parking is absolutely horrendous and i drove around for like 20 minutes before i found a spot on Maplewood and Fullerton. I would recommend going to those cross streets first since i found quite a few spots on that main road, then i walked through the neighborhood next to the restaurant. the parking i found on those cross streets was free btw. i would come back if parking wasn't so stressful.

Great dog friendly patio and good bar food. The buffalo chicken salad and buffalo wings were decently tasty, as was the spinach and artichoke dip. The jalapeño cheese sticks were essentially just mozzarella sticks- nothing special. They were out of several wines as well. The bathroom was very dirty, especially since it had seemed that someone had an accident- but otherwise the service was great.

One of my favorite places here in the neighborhood! The owner is SO nice and knowledgeable. You can tell how passionate she is about her space and she's always supporting local businesses in the area too. Happy hour: 1000% worth it. Tastings: also 10000% worth it! We did a private tasting with our family and our sommalier was so kind/patient with our crazy family. We learned a lot and had some great wine. You can buy snacks in addition to your tasting experience. The private tasting would be such a great gift. Also, the tasting room is seperate from the restaurant and it is super cuteFood: the menu is usually on rotation and you can't really go wrong with whatever you get! Every vegetarian dish I have had here has been some of my favorites (even though I am a meat eater). The argula & fennel salad + charred rappini are very good. The portion sizes for the short ribs and lobster cakes were generous.

A wonderful place for five-star food and drinks, in the heart of downtown Bartlett, of all places.I like the concept of tapas, bringing to mind the ability to have a 2 hour+ meeting with great food, good drink, and most important: engaging company. And since you order the food in multiple rounds, you can graze like you are at a buffet, especially if you are dining with others. What's obviously important is that the food needs to be prepared quickly (one can't wait for 20 minutes for a dish to come after ordering). Le Petit is the place! It shares a large parking lot with other restaurants in the area, and since those were also busy on a Friday night, the lot was pretty full but we were able to find a spot close by. We didn't have a reservation, but found a place near the door, and was promptly engaged. We were given menus and a complementary montadito (small slice of french bread with EVOO and olives). They have a strong wine collection (which my brother-in-law perused) and a decent selection of draught beer. We ended up getting pints of estrella and chimay grande reserve, which at $7 was very much appreciated. Then we began to order, doing 2 - 3 dishes at a time. Pimento Del Piquillo ($7) - seafood stuffed pepper (2) - each pepper was 2- 3 bites worth. The first munch of this for me, was the best bite I've had in a very long time.Grilled Octopus ($14) - a smaller dish, with two tenacles, pounded and marinated. It was tender, not chewy and the accompaniments and relish really added so much flavor to each bite.Seafood Paella ($15) - ended up ordering this twice. As expected, it took a little longer to prepare/assemble...but still short enough to order it as a refill without waiting too long. This is my favorite Spanish dish, and it was good rendition, topped with separately prepared shrimp, salmon, and octopus. It reminded me that people are trying to serve paella in smaller portions, and CAN work as a tapas.Meat and Cheese Platter ($15) - recommended by our chef, so ate it towards the end. Very good quality meat and cheeses, and would be the right amount for a party of four.tenderloin-avocado blt slider ($9) - probably the one fusion dish that we ordered. Tastes exactly like as you would expect reading the title.Because we were raving about the food, our hostess brought out the chef/owner so we could meet him. Rakesh "Sunny" Chopra is the origination of these various dishes on the menu, and obviously takes a very hands on approach. Service was good throughout, and they will provide a bottle of tap water to serve yourself, if you ask.I think the term fusion in the name would apply more to the mix of different dishes. rather than a particular dish that melds different flavors/ingredients within itself. This was clear when my dining companion who grew up in Spain, had very complementary things to say about the Spanish tapas (including the ultimate, "my mom makes this"). Surprisingly, we really didn't see or taste any Indian influences, considering the chef/owner's ethnicity or history of his restauranteering in the Bartlett area.Note the location is in a historic, rustic barn that has been restored and has quite a bit of space for seating, without having to squeeze every bit of space. It is drafty in places.Their website is very good, giving accurate information about the menu and history of the ownership family. This is when I realized that I had dined at one of Sunny's restaurants before: d'licious Crepes & Roti...remembering it to be excellent. i really need to keep an eye on this place, recommending it wholeheartedly to everyone, and seeing what Sunny has planned next.

I went with my family here and we had a blast! The ambiance was amazing. It is beautifully decorated inside and cute for pictures. The chef really went above & beyond! The food was so flavorful and filling. It was not too pricey either. The vodka pasta was a must! If you are ever near Clark street and are craving some good food, this would be the spot! I will definitely be coming back!

My friend and I came here for a Saturday brunch. We had a reservation for 11am and were seated upon arrival. The restaurant is located within a hotel, but the signage to get to the restaurant were clear. Food:We both had a mimosa to start, and they were tasty!I ordered the eggs & potatoes for breakfast along with the croquettes. I asked if I could upgrade my potatoes to the patatas bravas, but that was unavailable. The eggs and potatoes were still good. The croquettes were small, but really good. I would order them again. My friend ordered the eggs benedict and a side of bacon. She enjoyed her food. Service:Service was friendly and quick. We were given the mimosas on the house because we were celebrating a birthday. That was nice of them! When our food came out, the kitchen put my friend's bacon on my plate for some reason. Since I am vegetarian, I had to send it back. They were happy to remake my breakfast. They remade my friend's bacon as well, but they asked if she still wanted the bacon from the plate, so double bacon! TL;DR - Good food with some miscommunication for food, but overall good service

I highly recommend coming here for tapas. They have a wide selection of tapas which I love. They had live music when I went which was on Friday. The service was a bit slow for my liking but the food was delicious! This is one of the better tapas place food wise. I loved the datiles con tocino, patatas bravas, and the and the Empanada de Buey, but everything else we ordered was declined as well. I would have loved to try more items on their menu but I was so full. Their sangrias are also delicious and reasonably priced as well. For happy hour, they have half off tapas which is a good deal as well. I wish I lived a bit closer even though I walked here but it was a very long walk. The walk was more so to feel better after eating so much but it was worth it.

The ambiance was nice. I really enjoyed the plants and the artwork. We started with the Cha Gio (crispy shrimp and pork roll) and the Banh Uot (Sesame Beef Ravioli). Both were pretty good, but not out of this world. The roll was pretty classic and the ravioli was definitely more unique. The signature fried rice was better than I was expecting given that it had broccoli which I thought would be weird, but was actually really good. The Shaking Beef was by far the best dish and I would go back just to have more of it! Two apps and two mains was a good amount of food for two people and we went home with a little bit of leftover rice.
Visit Restaurant Page"Everyone and their mothers were hyping up Aba being the best Mediterranean restaurant when I visited Chicago this time around. Even though it's been open for several years, getting a reservation at a reasonable time is still pretty difficult. I was here with five others last Sunday for dinner. Even though the reservation was made over a month in advance, we were only able to snag the 4:15 PM slot.Wanted to make the note -- the complementary pita bread was absolutely phenomenal. It was so soft and fluffy and well seasoned. Very yummy and definitely ask for more!CRISPY SHORT RIB HUMMUS - 18.95This came with a large pita that I thought was fluffier and tastier than the complementary pita bread. The hummus was super smooth and the beef jus on top gave it more of a "mashed potatoes" appearance. This hummus has got to be the best thing we got the entire dinner. It was so creamy and flavorful, and the shredded and tender beef mixed with sherry was a wonderful combination. I would highly recommend.MUHAMMARA - 15.95This dip was slightly spicy due to the roasted pepper and isot chili. The walnuts gave it a nutty and crunchy flavor that was great. The pomegranate molasses made it a bit sweet, so it was sweet and spicy. Delicious dip that all of us enjoyed, we'd definitely recommend.BRUSSELS SPROUTS - 14.95Crispy and crunchy without being too oily. These were topped with nuts and some harissa honey which added more to the flavor. They're not too crunchy on its own, but the nuts help. This was good but nothing mind-blowing.GREEN CHILI SHRIMP - 18.95Each order comes with 6 jumbo shrimps inside an escargot plate and topped with garlic, parmesan, and breadcrumbs. Pretty good toppings, and the shrimp was juicy. We liked it, but it's a bit pricy for sure.PORK BELLY - 24.95Each order comes with two small strips of pork belly and decorated with some nectarine and drizzled in vinaigrette. The nectarine was pretty sweet and enhanced the flavor of the pork. One of our pork belly was super fatty and the other was pretty lean. I ate a bite from the lean pork belly and it was OK. I want to bet that the fatty one was a lot tastier and denser in flavor.PRIME SHORT RIB KALBI - 33.95These were charred pretty well and had a sweet flavor, but expensive for one and half pieces of kalbi. I think we each got one small bite and tendon from the bone. Flavor was great, but I don't think it's worth the price point. The ambiance and interior is beautiful. The bathroom was fancy. Service was also speedy and helpful with recommendations. Aba was definitely the best meal I had during this trip! Their dips are a must and what they're known for. The pork belly and kalbi was good, too, but too expensive for the portion size. This 5/5 review is definitely for the dips."
"Cute sportsbar. We did the $30 burger and all you can do special on a Friday night. Burger was good. Drinks were decent. Felt the first drink was good and then became weaker and weaker. So we switched to beer. All-in-all a good time out. Several board games to choose from and the TVs played a variety of shows."
"Every dish was delicious. My favorites were the hanger steak and potatoes bravas. Gluten free dishes were done well for our coworker with Celiacs. Friendly and helpful service. Our server was knowledgeable, attentive, and knew how to pace our dishes. Ambience was dark and intimate but very lively with the buzz of conversation. They also were able to accommodate our large group of 10 on a week day evening."
"Bar Avec is a vibe!!!! We came here for cocktails during sunset, which I highly recommend! One, make a reservation because it's not a super large space but it's worth it. It is a roof top with an incredible view! If you come pre sunset and stay through it, you'll see the city go from day to night which is absolutely gorgeous. Our waiter was Micheal who had an incredible personality and graciously explained to us the meaning of the cocktail names. The cocktails were delicious!! I highly recommend coming here especially if you're visiting Chicago this is a rooftop vibe you don't want to miss!"
"I finally had the opportunity to try Avli last night. It was Monday night and walking up you could see that there wasn't an empty table or bar seat to be found. Upon entry I was immediately greeted by two Greek Hostesses. While awaiting my guest I was also able to meet The GM Stefano who gave me a brief rundown on their brand. We had an assortment of drinks, enjoyed all four of their homemade spreads, the Pork Gyro and The Braised Lamb Shank. All were delish! The patio, which is West of Wells is nice and fairly tranquil given its location away from heavy traffic. The Greek Hospitality was omnipresent. I know I'll be back again soon."
"A few girl friends and I came to for dinner Barcocina during our recent trip. We had an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. We booked an outdoor igloo for $75 per person (+tax & tip) which included huge portions of food & unlimited drinks for two hours. This was an incredible price in my opinion. First off the igloo was super cute, kept us very warm and the highlight was the speaker inside for us to connect and play our own music. This would be so perfect for a birthday, bachelorette party or any special occasion. The food was so so good! My favorites were the steak quesadilla and shrimp tacos. Those were must orders for sure! The cheeseburger was probably my least favorite but I loved the unique option. The spicy marg is a must if you like spicy. It had the perfect amount of heat. To top off this experience our server, Abby, was the best. She consistently made sure to check in on us and ensure the heat, food & drinks were all great. She also helped us take the best group photos. We also met the GM, Cisco. He made sure we were well taken care of too. Super awesome all around!"
"Authentic. Chinese. Street. Food!!! Here you can indulge in the flavors of food from ChenDu, which is the capital of Sichuan, in China! The spices and flavors in the dishes are so tasty. Here's what I tried:Tempting Bon Bon ChickenFiery Spicy Fries DelightsHot & Sour Fern Root NoodlesWholesome Wonton Chicken SoupSingle Choice Hot Pot w/imitation crab meatThree CannonsChengDu Osmanthus CakeMango Soda Drink 芒果少女心The Bon Bon Chicken was my favorite! It was so many flavors at once with the chili oil, soy sauce, slight sweetness and sesame oil. The Wonton chicken soup is so warm and comforting and the dumplings are made in house. I love how airy and modern the space is; there is room for big groups - which I really like. Put them on your list to visit and tell em that Bri from Planes and Plates sent you!"
"I wanted to take my birthday girl for a birthday drink and this was a place that intrigued me! We actually met the first time on the ground floor where jaleo resides. The Spanish tapas theme was delicious when we tried it. Pigtail lounge is in the basement of the same establishment and featured a infused cocktail list with pig inspired bites. The birthday girl ordered a very unique cocktail in which the drink itself is warm and the foam on top is cold. Being a Negroni lover and seeing the cute pig logo next to the drink name I opted for a clear Negroni which hit the spot. Our server was so knowledgeable and professional . He even brought a surprise flan with a candle lit for my friends birthday. What's even more awesome is that it's a new spot on the in kind app!"
"Good service and great views! Located on the 22nd floor of the Hilton it has two outdoor terraces with city sweeping views and a main dining room with a bar and tons of tv's to catch a game. Service was good and attentive Jacques was my server and made recommendations I had the mix green salad with had a corn bread crouton with fresno peppers and cherry tomatoes. For my main I tried the bucatini pasta which had muscles, shrimp and white fish in a green sauce. I paired that with a glass of albarino white wine. Overall great service and food with city views from the south loop!"
"Ema's ambience embodies a luminous and airy aesthetic, imbued with a touch of Californian nonchalance. This bright and breezy atmosphere sets the stage for a delightful exploration of the Mediterranean. My initial foray was the "spicy toothpick lamb" ($19). This dish featured tender morsels of lamb redolent with cumin, artfully presented alongside a house yogurt. The lamb itself was commendably supple, boasting a subtle yet piquant kick that awakened the palate.Next, I ventured towards the house-made labneh ($15). This creation showcased spring peas in their verdant glory, complemented by diminutive thumbelina carrots and a bed of lentils. The labneh, a delightful yogurt cheese, served as the foundation for this symphony of textures and flavors. A lemon vinaigrette added a touch of refreshing acidity, further elevating the dish. The accompanying fresh-baked pita bread deserves its own accolades - it was demonstrably some of the most delectable bread I have ever encountered, boasting a perfect balance of texture and flavor. My final course was the grilled chicken ($20). Succulent segments of chicken, marinated in a yogurt concoction, emerged from the grill imbued with a smoky essence. A vibrant condiment of sweet peppers and zhoug, a Yemeni hot sauce, provided a delightful counterpoint. The basmati rice, infused with a pronounced lemon essence, served as an excellent textural and flavorful accompaniment.Overall, Ema offers a vibrant and flavorful exploration of Mediterranean cuisine presented in a stylish and contemporary setting. The quality of the ingredients and the culinary finesse are undeniable. While some may find the portion sizes a touch wanting given the price, the overall experience remains highly commendable."
"Came in around 10:30pm in a rainy cold day. Staff was extremely warm and friendly and comes up with their personal favorites and touch on some selections. After a few drinks, I preferred the more boozy ones:Chicago fire extinguisher - a very smoky cocktail, not only its smoky appearance but how the drink itself was able to contain all those smoky flavors. Would recommend to drink with some speed as the flavorful profile gets washed out by the melting ice but either way it was a very lovely drink. There's also a page dedicated to "traveling old fashioned" which I thought was extremely unique. The base remains the same with the liquor, bitters and syrup, but adds a regional twist based on the city you choose. Had a hard time deciding who to choose! I tried the Tokyo, which was iwai, toki, sake, plum bitters and goji berries. The taste is exactly what is described on the menu and gives you a hint of the city's vibe. Amazing experience!"
"What an absolutely delightful experience! So glad my cousins introduced us here and made a reservation two weeks in advance! It is definitely a popular spot, so it's recommended to make reservations if you intend to visit. Lines start to form throughout lunch and dinner service well into the lobby area. I ordered a non-alcoholic called the psych which was delicious. Bit of a fizzy and fruity drink, which was lovely to sip throughout the meal.We ordered a small chunk of cheese (humbolt fog) which I thought was quite nice. it reminds me a bit of the funk from blue cheese. They served it with a peach type marmalade and olives mix and some bread. Flavours complimented the cheese quite well and I enjoyed having a taster. We ordered grilled broccoli starter and the mushrooms 3 ways - highly recommend both. Lovely taste and texture. For mains we tried out the halibut, turkey leg, and lamb shank. We also tried a pasta which I believe was orecchetti. It was a cheesy one and it sort of reminded me of the thick nacho cheese you'd get at the theatre. Quite a comfort food. The halibut was very well cooked and I loved the sauce it was in. The lamb shank was very rich and heavy. Meat eaters at the table were huge fans. I loved the bed of sweet potatoes it sat in. The Turkey Leg was probably my favourite. Lovely caramelization on the leg and the bed of veggies soaked up the sauce. It was sweet and tangy from the vinegar used to create the sauce. Beautifully balanced. I wish I could eat it again!Definitely recommend checking this place out. And it's all meant to be shared which always makes for a lovely meal time with friends and family. Service was also quite fast!"
"Came to another of these hip sushi places for a dinner. It's only open for dinner times so it's kind of limited. Nononomo is a pretty nice place conveniently close to the California and Western Blue Line stations. For sure this area attracts lots of hipsters. The prices are actually pretty good considering the portions and quality. After going by here a few times, we made plans to come. It wasn't that busy inside. The place has a low key classy hipness to it, a cool vibe. As for what to eat, we thought to get a bowlthe first time being here. I got the Vegan Udon Noodle Bowl, which was a lot. It's about $15 but almost worth it though. Had a lot in it. There were big pieces of tofu. Have to make an update about this business. It seems to have closed. The doors have been locked and it says it has been "temporary closed" forever seemingly on the website."
"Such great food here! Upscale but large portions and hearty food. Different from the ravenswood location but equally good and fun. Great ambiance and casual for groups. Carrots were awesome, burger is a juicy smash burger, burrata is creamy, cheese plate doesn't look great but tastes awesome! Salad was a bit heavy on the vinegar so not for all palates but I enjoyed. Not pictured is the ranch chips which are incredible and a must have. We are so quick there was no evidence. Service was a bit slow but we weren't in a Hurry. Great work!"
"As always Tapas Gitana continues to be my favorite tapas restaurant. A lil bit of everything. Scallops with Israeli couscous, Garlic shrimp, meat balls, queso de cabra, charcuterie board with THE MOST AMAZING OLIVES, lamb chops, chicken skewers, banana chocolate bread pudding with Dos Nueces. I honestly go there when I crave their olives. Bonus is the amazing things that come after.Saving the best for last. Alberto the server has been there since I've been going. Sigh... aging myself.... Probably about 20yrs now. He stays on top of it all, remembers minute details from the last dinner conversation and your orders. Fun and a jokester, takes his time to converse while not taking too much time. Just pleasant conversation while still making sure you and his customers are well taken care of. This is probably the longest review I've posted, but it had to be said.Thank you Tapas Gitana staff!"
"What a beautiful cocktail bar. On a bright, sunny spring afternoon, it was so perfect. The Gwen hotel has always been a special hotel to me, but I'd never spent time on the terrace. With a friend in town, I decided to finally go there. It would have been too cold for me, but there were fire pits, heating lamps, and tables with fire to keep you warm. Because of these warming features, it's open yr around. I need to come back during the winter and go curling up here. A winter date night idea. The drinks were quite good. Pretty in Pink had pink grapefruit and pomegranate and I could have ordered several more of those. Especially because my friend liked my drink so much, he kept taking sips of it. Hey, order your own. He ordered the Last Thyme. His was good and I don't even love gin, but I wanted to order more Pretty in Pinks. Calories be damned. It was early and we had 3 more bars to go to though. I need to come back when I can order freely off the menu The tuna tartare was good but very small. Not a great choice before a night of drinking and on a previously empty stomach. To be fair, it *was* listed on the "small plates" section of the menu. They weren't kidding. It was small. And $22. But it was good. Loved the caviar on top. He had the good sense to order fried chicken before our night of fun. -the Chicken Milanese. Dressed generously in arugula and manchego and fried to a beautiful golden brown, my only complaint is that it was a just a tad bit dry. Still good though. I had reservations here a few weeks ago, but canceled because it was pouring rain. I'm so glad I experienced it first on a perfect spring afternoon instead."
"Chinese doesn't get any more authentic. Da Mao Jia is a place that is what you think of when you go to a restaurant in Chinatown. It's actually in Bridgeport, but that's just about close enough for those around it. How about some of the craziest things you have ever eaten, as in brains and gizzards. There's luckily also things for vegetarians. A lot of Chinese restaurants have Americanized menus so it's less daunting. It's not like this here. They have a ton of authentic stuff. Forget about dumplings. It has way beyond that. Holy cow, literally, as you can eat cow brain. Of course I haven't, so when we went here I got something from the slim but good vegetarian friendly options. It's not cheap. This place is costly but it's so good though. Both of us got the Cheng Du Veggies In Hot Pot. It's $18, so it's pricy. This has glass noodles, mushrooms, seaweed knots, and tofu skin. It actually was a lot of food. The broth was thick, and it was more like a stew. Go for some authentic Chinese. It's the place to go for Chengdu dishes. The food is on the expensive side but this is one of the rare times it's worth all that."
"This is what I'll say: go here when you are not on a budget, looking for creative food, and are good with small portions. This is a cute spot with a nice ambiance and would say good when you are really looking to splurge. We went in a group of 6 and spent 400 dollars (didn't order any of the entrees that were for the table) or any dessert. We did order a drink each though! Not sure how we got that high up there but we were definitely surprised! From our orders we got:* tempura elotes - this is kind of a elote cracker and was nice and yummy with a creamy sauce* red curry lentil dip - flavorful and easily scoopable. Went well with the paratha*hawaiian rolls and chojang butter - this was decent but nothing I haven't had before *scallop crudo - this was honestly really fishy and the least popular entree of the table. We felt bad for send it back, but would definitely skip* Zatar potato - I love potatoes and this dish was yummy! Can't ever go wrong with a little bit of starch!*vegetable and paneer kofta - we got two orders of these and this was really yummy. The portions are way too small esp the bread it comes with but it was flavorful* braised wagyu beef cheek - this was my favorite dish and it was soft, melt in your mouth with a delicious curry. My advice to the chef is to give it with a little more rice! I haven't been to a restaurant where the side is such a tiny portion* roasted asparagus - this was nicely grilled and freshed and I enjoyed the sauce it came with!* banana leaf wrapped bass - this was unfortunately undercooked so we had to send this back, but the dish was okayOverall it was a fun experience to try so many different cool items, but I wouldn't go back due to price and portions!"
"Had pretty great drinks and food at this upscale place in the Loop. It's actually not that expensive when considering quality. 90th Meridian is located in the historic Central Standard Building at Jackson and LaSalle and is popular for lunch weekdays. Maybe the hours could be better, but it's good for downtown workers of course. There's a good variety to choose from including Italian and Mediterranean. A bad thing about it is the hours. It's only open Tuesdays to Thursdays for lunch into the evening and closes pretty early too. The restaurants in The Loop cater to downtown workers. Even so, the hours still are pretty limited. Last time around here it was open though. It's about $15 for a cocktail. Kind of a lot it seems, but not for around here. Since this is by the old Stock Exchange, the menu has a theme. I got the Closing Bell. This was made with Aperol, lime juice, luxardo maraschino, and Mezcal. Citrusy and sweet is a good way to describe it. The food was good too. It's about $15 for an entree. There's meats such as fish, and sandwiches. A lot to choose from. I got the Falafel Wrap. Big one. This had arugula, avocado, cucumbers, harissa hummus, and radish. Good place if around here during the week at lunch. It's just limited for when it's open. There's meaty items as well as ones for vegans and vegetarians."
"Let me just tell you something right now- this place is unbelievable. Been trying to get in here and there for a coupe months and stopped by with the wife on Tuesday and this place rocked my world. Serivce was so good. Had a local highwood guy taking care of us who knew the menus and helped us make some decisions. So the food and flavors are off the charts. We had the classic oven baked goat cheese in tomatoe basil which was exactly what would you would think and hit the mark perfectly. The 19 grilled sirloin steak rocked me. It was bursting with flavors. We also did the most famous 21 shrimp. The chili, lemon, sauce was so good that I was lapping it up with my fork. And then there was the 28 chicken which crushed me. It was so good and also bursting with flavor. After the meal, I had to find the owner to tellHim how good the food was. Good story. Hes a local that spent time in Spain. The portions were great. The food was amazing and the staff couldn't have been better."
"We sat at the bar and had a wonderful evening. The hospitality was amazing. See my pictures to see what we got. All great ! We will be back."
