I went to ROOH recently to try their new tasting menu "Roop" which means beauty in Indian. First off this restaurant is stunning! I was shocked how different each section was decorated with rich colors and beautiful murals. The food was just as delicious and beautiful. They are now serving two different tasting menus (Vegetarian and Non Vegetarian) during dinner service Wednesday - Sunday. For $95/pp you're really getting your monies worth and you actually leave full. Each dish is presented so beautifully and it is a collaboration with a Michelin Star Chef. I actually loved each course but my favorite was the scallop course and when asked if I wanted to add caviar I said Ofcourse. I also tried Indian whisky for the first time and loved it. I will definitely be back!

We stopped in for a late lunch at this cute, progressive Indian place. We didn't have reservations so our only option was to sit at the bar. Everything we ordered was good, but it was definitely on the pricey side, and the bill came with a 4% restaurant surcharge on top of the high prices. We shared the Paneer Pasanda ($30), Green Pea Kulcha ($19), and a small piece of Gulab Jamun cheesecake (an astonishing $16). The entrees don't come with rice, which is always surprising to come across. If you don't mind the cost, Rooh is a fun option for upscale, modern Indian food.

I dined here on Mother's Day and let's put it this way, it met my mom's seal of approval and she gave it 5 stars. 'Nuff said? . On a more serious note, the food and service were both on point. I had one of their bourbon cocktails and we got the pea kulcha, jackfruit cutlet, lamb keema and butter chicken (not pictured). Everything had unique flavors and tasted really good. This was my first time trying a jackfruit dish and it was rather unique and unexpected. Similarly although you can get lamb keema elsewhere too, the foam that it came with was totally unique and a nice compliment. I had dined at ROOH for brunch years ago and found the meal 'heavy' but this time around I didn't feel that at all. Sure it's rich but I didn't feel too guilty after this meal. A must try if you're looking for an elevated Indian dining experience with some of the staples and some innovative fusion food.

If you're looking for a unique dining experience, this Indian restaurant is an excellent choice, especially for special occasions. The ambiance is elegant and welcoming, creating a perfect setting for celebrating milestones or enjoying a refined night out.The service here stands out for its promptness and professionalism. From the moment you step in, the staff is attentive and ensures that your dining experience is seamless and enjoyable. The cuisine is a delightful twist on traditional Indian dishes. The chef's creativity shines through in every plate, blending classic flavors with innovative techniques that elevate the dining experience. The quality and presentation of the food reflect the restaurant's commitment to fine dining. It's worth noting that reservations are recommended. Although we managed to secure a table at the last minute, the restaurant does get quite busy, reflecting its popularity and the high demand for its exquisite offerings. As this is a fine dining establishment, the prices are on the higher side. It's not a place for everyday meals, but rather for those occasions when you're looking to indulge in something special. One area where the restaurant could improve is the variety of vegetarian options. For an Indian restaurant, the vegetarian selection is somewhat limited, which might be disappointing for those who prefer or require a vegetarian diet.Overall, this restaurant is highly recommended for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience with a sophisticated take on Indian cuisine.

Rooh presented a great fusion of classic Indian flavors with modern twist. Dim lighting and beautiful chandeliers added to the grandeur of the place. The staff was super attentive and suggested the Prawn to us which was the highlight of our night. The coconut flavor coated every bite. Meat was well marinated, flavorful and not spicy. The dahi ke kebab were well made but in my opinion lacked a little bit of texture as it was dry. All of the main dishes had superior taste and great presentation.

One of my favorite Indian restaurants in the city!! Rooh is more of an upscale, modern take on Indian food and the ambiance is amazing, the servers are friendly and the food is incredible. Been here several times and would definitely bring out of town guests here. For apps - The Chili cheese kulcha is my favorite thing and we never come here without ordering at least one of these. The sweet potato chaat is also a must try - so unique and tasty. The garlic naan with Paneer Pasada or butter chicken is delicious and you can't go wrong with either of these options. The gravy in these dishes is sooo creamy and the chicken is cooked perfectly. The cocktails are really good and have fun Indian twists / ingredients in them, and for dessert the mango sorbet tastes just like frozen rus (alphonso mangos). Everything is so so good 10/10 recommend!

Came here for birthday celebrations and had a great time. They gave us a pretty large both for us two people, it was nice to have the space to spread out! The waiter was super sweet and walked us through the whole menu. Here is what we got:Drinks:- Malabar old fashioned - great drink, alcohol forward with good flavors delicious - Road to Kerala - (not a fan of banana) so was worried about the banana but you couldn't really taste that flavor, would definitely recommend -chili cheese kulcha - very tasty and a lil spicy, if you like bread and cheese (who doesn't?) get this - sweet potato chaat - this one kind of surprised me and was honestly one of my favorite dishes that we ordered - kerala chicken - perfectly crispy and spicy -bagara baingan- pretty good, was giving Thai peanut curryThey also brought out a birthday ice cream, which was also good. Really enjoyed the meal and would come back when we visit Chicago again.

Went to Rooh for dinner and not bad for Wednesday night. We made reservations and never a bad idea to do so for this place. It was packed mostly after hours office crowd and business meeting related dinner crowd. We reached early and were asked to wait at the bar. We sat in the bar and ordered the drinks. The drinks were non alcoholic so relally didn't enjoy them much. Will give 2.5/5.Food. Small plates, cheese kulcha: 5/5Jackfruit Cutlet: 4/5 tip this should be made in 2 portions instead of one. Might make it easy to eat without destructing the dish. Mains:Paneer Pasanda: 5/5 nice gravy and cottage cheese was soft and well cooked.Saffron Rice: 3.5/5 nothing extraordinary. Just regular boiled rice with saffron strands.Garlic Naan: 4/5 very small size but good. Dal Makhani: 4/5 nice dal but was little watery. It is supposed to be thick.Dessert: paysam( rice pudding) 5/5 best part. It was perfectly sweet. If you are looking for a light dessert less sweet this is the best options. Served chilled with fruits on top( little modernized than traditionally done paysam. I would rather prefer nuts over strawberries and berries) Good food. I will recommend but probably may not go back soon since there are so many more to go and try and menu is also limited.

This restaurant has progressively declined in quality and each time we go is so disappointing. Their menu has reduced in the available options and while their decor and staff are fine, dining here has become less than enjoyable. The food and drink are less than mediocre, while their prices are too high for the portion sizes. The most recent time we went, we tried the majority of vegetarian options, and I can't even deny that there was not a single dish that we actually liked and would recommend. We ate the food because we were hungry during dinner and ended up having to order so much to barely fill our plates and were left with an unreasonably high bill. The cocktails are served in these martini glasses that only provide three sips before the drink is done. Their desserts are unoriginal and unimpressive. As far as Indian restaurants go, this one is not worth your time or money.
