This is my second time ordering from this restaurant with my partner. We got the quesabirria tacos with consomé. Reasonably priced and tasty compared to several other restaurants selling the same item. We ordered for pickup so not too sure about the difference in service. Had to call several times to place order this time compared to the first time. Parking is not so easy in this area and usually crowded if you plan on dining in. The inside is not really upscale so not suited if you're going on a date but just for more casual hang outs.

Me and the hubs were in the mood for both tacos and jibaritos. Luckily we found this little gem and decided to check it out. It has a little parking lot so didn't have to worry about finding street parking which was an added bonus. The staff was so nice and welcoming! The food was DELICIOUS. We had rellano de papa (didn't get to take a picture), tacos and jibarito. We shared the dishes so we both got to taste everything. Everything was phenomenal. The dishes were so well flavored. We got some desserts to go as well! My husband couldn't stop raving about the food on our way home. They even have weekly specials. The chef/owner even gave our son a popsicle to go (so sweet). We'll definitely be back to try more things!

We came here for lunch and the owners were so friendly and kind. We got free chips and salsa for the table and the salsa was so tasty. We ordered an horchata, quesabirria, and tacos. Husband thought the consommé wasn't too spicy or salty, which was great. I thought there was a lot of filling in the tacos and the al pastor was very delicious.I like that there's a small parking lot so that I don't need to figure out parallel parking. Everything was so good. Very fresh and tasty! I hope to come back more often!

I've driven by this place a ton of times and after seeing a post from them on a Facebook page, I had my boyfriend stop in with me for lunch. Parking was super convenient in the little lot out front. We were the only ones dining-in when we sat down, but by the end of our meal, more tables had filled up. I was pretty hungry so I forgot to snap a pic before we dove into our meals but it was delicious! Chips and salsa were amazing and unique! I don't know how tortilla chips can vary so much between restaurants but these were my favorite kind. The tampiqueña was juicy, flavorful and had a perfect char grill aspect. I forgot exactly what my boyfriend ordered but he absolutely loved it. The menu seemed to be a cross between Guatemalan, Puerto Rican and Mexican dishes. The best part was the staff! They were so friendly, attentive and took time to explain their recommendations on the menu. These are the restaurants we need to support, truly a hidden gem!

Summary (TLDR)I don't know if Los Altos de la Sierra has a large team of people with different specialities, or a handful of extremely talented people, but they're making better food than restaurants that specialize in one domain. Review I'll be honest, I tend to skip restaurants that offer multiple Latin American cuisines because I'm usually let down. I was raised on Mexican and Puerto Rican culture, so I had the privilege of tasting some of the best foods directly from my abuelitas. I'm not lying when I say that Los Altos de la Sierra's food is the closest to my family's. It's so good! The Location & HospitalityThe location is kind of hidden, but there's a little parking lot attached. There's also free and easy street parking. The restaurant itself is bigger than what it looks like from the outside, but small enough to where you won't be forgotten. The hospitality is top-notch and I instantly felt welcomed and appreciated. You can definitely tell they keep things clean too. The FoodFrom savory to sweet, this place has it all. There's a lot to try, but everything I've tasted is amazing. The tacos, jibaritos, and Puerto Rican rice is a great start if you're not sure what to get. I also highly recommend the green salsa. Lastly, don't overlook the desserts. There's nothing worse than finishing a great meal and then being let down with the dessert. We didn't try the desserts during our first visits, but I'm glad we eventually did. They definitely have someone who knows how to bake in-house. I can definitely see this as our new dessert spot too.
