The food service and ambiance and atmosphere were all great. Some of the best soup I have ever had in my life. Truly. And while you might call me biased as I have been a JeonJu practitioners for years I would give you my word I am not biased and has nothing to do with those matters. I recommend.

I feel like this is going to be our go to place everytime we want something soupy. I ordered the Soy Bean Paste Soup. I liked it. Very flavorful. Service was great as usual. And the place is very cozy. I do want to try some of their rice dishes next time. Definitely coming back.Happy Eating!!!

Solid Korean restaurant in Morton Grove. We ordered several dishes and for the most part everything was a solid 7.5/10 or higher. We feel like they skimped a little with what they offer in the banchan. Could've been a little more quantity for sure. The service was friendly and a bit better than what you'd expect from a typical authentic Korean place. I'd still return!

Came here with another couple on a cold winter night. But it was packed to my surprise we got the very last table as others that came in had to wait after us. It's not a big place so if you have a big group it'll be challenging. We had the lamb stew, which I believe is their specialty and a seafood pancake pajun. I thought the pajun was good, lots of seafood and ingredients. The lamb stew I thought was ok, seemed like every table had it as well. Once boiled down, we had some rice tossed in and turned into a nice rice complement with the rest of the drippings. It was good but thought a bit pricey for what it actually was. I thought we were kind of rushed out, as we wanted to order another stew after mid-way thru our initial one. We were discouraged from getting another dish. Oh well no worries it was just a try experience.

Small and quaint mom and pop store. We came in at 1:30, so it was an off hour and the staff was all having their lunch. Felt a little bad, but they were very accommodating and didn't make us feel out of place. Our server was having her meal but still checked on us periodically to make sure we had enough banchan refills and we felt well taken care of. Hubby and I each had a bowl of goat soup. We usually get something different and share... but their goat dish is their specialty! We didn't do the bokkeum, which comes in a pan and is cooked on the table. It would've been a more fuller, complete meal, with fried rice at the end... but we weren't overly hungry and I don't eat rice anymore (keto). Anyway, the soup was right on the money. Very, very good. The banchan was also very good - not overly flavorful, but just enough to be complementary to the meal, which is how it should be, and how we make it at home. Portions are on the smaller side, but I still had leftovers of my dish to take home, despite not having touched the rice bowl. Small portions of banchan is fine, since they'll keep coming back to refill it for you. I was very pleased with the meal and plan on coming back to try their eel soup, which I've been told is also very good.

Omg, God bless this place; if you're looking for basically what I would call Korean soul food, this is the place. It felt like a home away from home. I wish I lived nearby because I think I'd stop by every week.Be it the food or the service, everything was really comforting. I got the Seol Leong Tang (Ox Bone Soup), and it was PERFECTLY seasoned and hearty. It came with a decent amount of meat and a ton of green onions. The sides were okay, but were healthy. The rice was cooked perfectly. I actually liked how they used everyday dish-ware that you'd use at home (perfectly sums up the whole small family business vibe).

I've had the food here once in my three times I've been. It's alright, what you'd expect from a mom and pop Korean restaurant. However it's the service that's awful. No other resturant in the area treats customers as badly as JeonJu. The first time my sister wanted to order a more traditional Korean dish and the owner wouldn't let her. Told her to get bibimbap or kimchi soup. Literally would not let her order what she wanted. The second and last time they wouldn't even serve us because we came once at 7:50 and most recently at 8:10. If you're going to refuse to serve customers after a certain hour you should change your hours. Extremely rude and unprofessional. I would steer clear unless you like bad service

I was in the area and was craving some good, authentic Korean food and this restaurant popped up on my list so I thought I'd give it a try. JeonJu is a small, but a very cozy restaurant. My mom and I were easily seated and had our orders taken. They serve hot tea to you right when you are seated which was fitting to drink on a cold day. We ordered the Par Jeon (grilled green onion pancake), Bul Go Ki, and the Jeon Joo Dol Sol Bi Bim Bap (hot stone bowl mixed with beef and vegetables). You also get free side dishes of kimchi, bean sprouts, potatoes, and pickled radish. Everything was delicious and ingredients were fresh! The owner himself greeted every table and asked if the food was okay. I thought that was sweet of him to do so. If you're ever craving Korean food and are in the area this is the place to go!

It is conveniently located off of I94 with a parking lot in the back. It is a simple clean Mom and Pop shop. The menu is simple and laminated for easy cleaning. We ordered the green onion seafood pancake which came out fried instead of pan fried, so more evenly crisp by different from the traditional way of making. We ordered their House Special Spicy Goat Soup for 2. I like the perilla leave in the soup. It is a little bitter, but very refreshing. The cucumber and daikon bonchons are fresh. The Kimchi was a little old. The Goat Soup Special comes with a Kimchi Fried Rice that they will make in front of you. This was plenty of food for 2 people. Price seem very reasonable considering inflation. Service was quick. When I return next time, I'll want to try the other meat dishes and stews on the menu.

GREAT bibimbap! The bowls are smokin' hot ensuring a wonderfully crunchy/crispy texture treat when you get to the bottom of the bowl. Weirdly, non-crispy rice with this dish seems very common in many US Korean restaurants. This small family restaurant may look unassuming or lacking visual flare, is a gem.
