Janellie’s Kitchen

We stopped in Janellie's for a bite to eat before the Puerto Rican day parade. The food was absolutely fantastic. Everything is homemade. Do not skip the Jabarito sliders! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Also very cute vibes and super clean. Would recommend anyone visiting the Humboldt park area stops in for a bite. Also it's BYOB! Incredible!

Was able to taste them during a Blackhawks game night - themed for Hispanic Heritage Month. There were 4 different stations to choose from and this was one of them.I literally had came from Puerto Rico days before so being able to be taken right back was super cool! The ladies were kind enough to give my friend and I a bunch of different tastes of everything as we were there pretty early. Appreciated that! The 2 I pictured I actually didn't get a chance to try in PR so I was excited to do so. I will say that the (Not pictured - empanadas + chicken) were GOOD! The alcapurria was a little over cooked for my liking. The sorullito was sweeter than I expected - not sure why they suggested the ketchup/mayo with it lolOverall cool experience and would definitely go to their shop for a taste of something else if craving PR food

Absolutely loved Janellie's Kitchen! From the beautiful interior of the restaurant to the amazing taste of the food. The service was great and the Puerto Rican music playing throughout the restaurant reminded me of amazing times on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico! Thank you!!

We got the jibarrito sliders with steak. 3 for $6 y'all!! This is a no brainer! The tostones were crunchy and fresh, the steak was juicy and abundant, and condiments were perfect (lettuce, tomato, and sauce). I can't believe the value of this meal! We ordered to go and it was ready in about 10 minutes. I'm not sure if this is newly opened since it has so few reviews but definitely check this place out!

I recently moved to the neighborhood and had been meaning to try this place ever since. I'm glad that I finally decided to stop in for lunch. The service and food both exceeded my expectations and I can't wait to go back. I ordered the pincho which was a stick with lightly fried chicken thigh and plantains. Delicious. We also had the beef empanadas that came with a sweet spiced aioli which were good as well. For our entrees I had the baked chicken and my boyfriend had the jibarito sliders. All of the food was amazing and they had music playing which made for a fun and relaxed atmosphere. The owner came by herself to ask how everything was and she was very nice and genuine. Will definitely return!

I was happy to finally visit as I've followed them on Ig since their opening. Puerto Rican food is akin to soul food in that it is a really tough sell for restaurant fare and is usually best homemade. I definitely got a homemade vibe from my experience. Food was great. Service was sweet. I'd definitely come back!

Loved this place. Clean and great vibe. We had the wings and the shrimp mofongo. It was all excellent! I will return.

The food was delicious! Service was great! Janellie (the owner) was very sweet. Felt like your sitting in a restaurant on the island. I loved the nice decor and the music was nice Ambiance was was amazing. would definitely be going back and recommending fam and friends.

First of I would like to point out how good the food was and that is coming from someone who's wife has had food features on food network. There is another restaurant I like in the area but this has now replaced it. They reserved the restaurant four our group of about 120 people coming through over the course of a few hours. They were extremely accommodating and even though it was a set menu, she even made requested foods. The restaurant is Very clean and great decor. On top of that, you can explore the great neighborhood. This is now in my list of must go to stops whenever we are in Chicago.

Delicious Puerto Rican food, Janellie's service was awesome, I totally recommend this place.
