Iversen's Bakery

Pros:First of all, the customer service here is wonderful! Seriously, they have some of the nicest staff.I asked what something was and the lady described it and even gave me a sample! It was some small cookie and it was delicious, so I ordered a few to go. My BF ordered a donut and he loved it. Cons:Unfortunately, they run out of things or don't make things regularly- like certain breads. So, make sure you call ahead to confirm they have what you want before you show up and are disappointed- which is what happened to me.If they had simply run out, I would say that's just my luck, because the item is probably delicious, but in my case, the woman said they didn't make any and she didn't know when they would make it. That was a bit of a surprise. I figured the bread was a staple since so many people comment on how good it is.I also ordered a cupcake, and it was okay. It wasn't something I'd go back for.But those cookie were good! Next time, I'll call before going and confirm they have what I want and I'll try some other pastries.

I live in Texas and called an order to be delivered in blue Island-they didn't know me from Adam and went out of their way to have cupcakes delivered within the hour to a friend of mine that lives there last minute-I believe the lady's name was Janet and Susie they both helped me and they couldn't have been more helpful and I just have nothing but good things to say about this company in this day and age this is rare! Five stars across the board!

The donuts, rolls, danishes, ETC are soooo fresh and perfect! I ordered a dozen for my office and everyone raved about what they picked. Customer service was awesome too. The woman who helped me WANTED to help me and was happy to suggest items or go back and forth in the store to show me everything she had. I can't wait to come back again for another dozen!

LOVE THIS BAKERY!!!!!!.....The customer service is so-so in the afternoon...mainly because you're dealing with 18-20yr olds that don't look even the slightest but interested in having a frickin job!!!....But in the mornings...when the older ladies are there...sooooo sweet & niceThey have DELICIOUS pound cakes & the peach pie slices or the apple pie slices are my FAVORITE things to get from there!!!!

I love to go to Iversons after the library and get some cookies. The customer service is amazing. Sometimes when I bring my little cousin they give her a free cookie which makes her happy. The Iversons family knows us well. 10 out of 10 highly recommend.

Classic bakery. Very nice people. Will definitely return when in area. Friendly and knew customers by name. Everything tasted fresh. Apple and cherry squares were awesome.

Absolutely wonderful experience with the "new" Iversen's. I belong to an organization that has relied on Iversen's baked goods for a large Scandinavian fundraiser/celebration held in Geneva Illinois for many years. The new Iversen's has the same recipes and I'm told, many of the same bakers. The owners were professional and went out of their way to accommodate our large order and were responsive to my emails and or phone calls. Most importantly, the baked goods were just as delicious as in the past. I look forward to working with them and enjoying their bakery goods for our celebration again next year. My only regret is that I live in Texas. I have no choice but to wait until I am back in Illinois in June of 2024.

The old Iversen's: amazing. The new iversens with a new owner: not great. Positives: the coffee cake didn't have much substance but tasted good. The danish were just okay. Negatives: the carrot cake frosting was definitely different than previously and the carrots in my carrot cake were dark moldy green color. I legit thought I ate mold. According to Google it's from too much baking soda or not mixing well enough. Which brings me to my next point. The cookies were pre packed and were stale. Some cookies were very salty while others were not. It was as if they didn't mix well enough. I don't know what Iversen's is doing but they need to get bakers in there that know how to bake and they need follow the old recipes. Side note, I've also heard from someone else that the donuts were a huge disappointment

Since I was a first time customer, I wanted to see what they had. The counter lady seemed a little preoccupied. I went outside and came back in and knew what I wanted: apple tart, cherry tart, bear claw, and two glazed donuts, all of which were delicious.I tipped the counter lady a dollar, just to brighten her day. It was like a miracle day brightener! She found a big smile and gave me some further information about the bakery.I was a tourist, but if I lived there, I would go there often and tip her generously every time. I hope you will.
