We found this place as we dropped off our fur baby at the Chicago Cat Clinic near by. This is an old retro diner with counter service (and a few 2-top tables) that serves breakfast (mostly corned beef hash or some type of hash) with coffee and a smile. We sat down and viewed the menu that had plenty of corned beef hash options. I opted for the traditional CBH. You can see the chef (and I believe owner) making them on the grill. The space is very small, but you can tell the restaurant has been in tact for decades and the owner isn't changing the charm. The service was great, the restaurant is small but quaint, clean, and most importantly - delicious. I really didn't expect to enjoy my food so much, but it's really a hidden gem.

This coffee shop and diner rocks! You might not be able to get a seat because it can get very busy, but there are 12 seats at the diner and 3 small tables for 2. It is definitely a family type fuel here with a classic vibe. You can find oldies playing on the two TVs, with classic songs playing in the background. It was like a time machine back into 1980. Many regulars come in and are known by name. Multiple people working there will come and talk to you as well. Today I tried a bacon date and goat cheese omelette which came with a side of pancakes and hash browns, all for $14. The Omelette was different, with a combination of savory, sweet, and creamy! I highly recommend the spice rub that is on the side, which is very tasty and not too spicy. It is definitely worth coming back here, just might have to wait or come at a later hour.Customer Parking is available alongside the restaurant and on street, but beware that the parking lot sign does not indicate that Edgebrook Coffee Shop customers are listed on there. I recommend the business to make parking recommendations to ease the burden on the customers, but I had no problem parking her for 30 min.

We've gone there twice in the last 6 months and both times they were out of tomatoes. Our favorite omlette has goat cheese, spinach and tomatoes in it. What's up?

First time here. Had to try their house corned beef. A smile greeted me upon entering. I was able to pick some sides to make my meal exactly how I wanted. Not many old school diners anymore. The restaurant is cozy and you can tell there are some regulars. It's clean and the counter is tidy.

Very nice little breakfast diner. I always thought they only had coffee so I never went, but my buddy told me they are pretty much a restaurant so I decided to try it. And they did not disappoint. The retro breakfast diner feel, the food was amazing and the staff was so so nice. I got the steak and eggs and it was hands down amazing! They basically cook the food right in front and there are stools at the counter. It's a very small spot but they deliver big. I'll be back.

Pleasant overpriced place. Breakfast was good. Corned beef hash ended up a new unfamiliar concoction as short order cook offered up his own unique and ultimately weird version. Large clumps of corned beef were mixed up with undercooked potatoes and peppers coated in grease. Never back crisp. Toast was good. Price did surprise. Paid it and left.

A year after my initial review, they know us when we come in, we eat here regularly, and I haven't found anything on the menu that I regretted ordering yet. Today I ordered the Monte Cristo french toast and I think it's maybe my favorite menu item yet. It's sweet and salty, it's filling, it's fresh and truly a brunch lovers dream. My boyfriend sticks to his tried and true breakfast sandwich, which is perfectly cooked every time. We love coming here. Parking is easy and free. Staff are so personable and welcoming. Food is delicious, portions are big, and it's very affordable. Don't sleep on this gem.

Chris' s final day as owner. He found new owners and will be here for a couple weeks during transition. New owners are planning on keeping things the same. Always have enjoyed my visits over the past 7 years.

Old school and could use a scrub, but the service was lovely and the leek and gruyère omelet was hot and fresh. Burger was also solid.

Prices are too high. Ordered the corned beef hash and got thick corned beef slices with egg folded over it. No hash browns as stated on the menu, greasy French fries. No explanation given.Disappointing.The help are very nice.
