Just picked up my potato pancakes and mind you I waited 15 min for them to be cooked to only get this raw unflavored mess. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Yum. Chilaquiles omelette. $10 veggie skillet , really can't go wrong here. Pancakes are delish. At night they open for cash only tacos and burritos. Need to come in for that. Friendly and fast and economical. Decent coffee. Nice folks. Check them out.

So I stopped by for the menudo advertised for Saturday and Sundays only. Cool, I'm hungover and looking for some good menudo to cure it. We'll when I ordered I got an excuse that they were out cause they only make so much on the weekend. First off this place ain't ever packed and I know everyone coming in is ordering menudo. First turn off Ok so now I want the flank steak and eggs, "sorry we only have the New York strip" . Ok , I'll take the New York strip. "How would you like that " - Medium please. Wife orders the chilaquiles eggs medium. Shortly after we order local alderman walks in, gets a seat, and out comes our "owner/cook" has a seat at the alderman's table chatting it up having a jolly ol time, while I'm now waiting 30 minutes for the food to come out. Coffee is being refilled and the waitress keeps telling us the food will be out soon. 3 times and even tells us that it's because of the steak. Finally food comes out. My eggs look decent hash browns look decent. But then I cut into my steak and it's hard I take a look and the mug is WELL DONE. Listen I ate it cause it's like 1 pm brunch and I was hungry and I'm not the type to let food go to waste. But I requested medium cause you gotta be a psychopath to order well done. Wife's chilaquiles comes out with rice and beans. That's the craziest shit I've ever seen not to mention the rices looks like it was cooked with the frozen mixed veggies bag you get at aldis. You don't serve chilaquiles with rice and beans. Regardless she didn't like the food. When the waitress finally come around to ask about the food or needs I brought up the fact my steak was well done and not medium. She said well it's cause the aldermen came in and the cook was distracted . I'm sorry, but you got a business to run. Don't matter if the president comes in, take care of your business, then smoosh all you want after. She offered a discount on my order, we got a 10% discount . She got a 10% tip. Needless to say I probably won't come back here, but may give them a second chance in a far and distant future. Last note , came home to boo boo after , unfortunately the food gave me the runs, which tells me the eggs weren't properly cooked.

MAKE AN EGG-CEPTION?This breakfast place has tons of choices on their tattered plastic menus. After making a furniture delivery and complaining to Nichole C that I hadn't had breakfast yet, we stopped at this cute little restaurant right off of Harlem Ave. It was around midday on 7/13/18 when we were seated.4 Yolks has easily got 20 pages' worth of stuff on their shabby and taped-up menus, ranging from blintzes to burritos. NC got the French connection ($7.20), a hearty serving of french toast with 2x eggs, 2x bacon, and one giant breakfast sausage.Maybe it came across wrong, but when she asked for strawberries on top of her order, the response she got was a resounding 'NO'. So even if we paid a bit more for a side of fresh fruit, they still couldn't make it happen? That's weird.I opted for the meatlover's skillet + jalapeños ($7.25), and it came loaded with plenty of bacon/ham/sausage. I loved the base of "American fries" (breakfast potatoes) topped with melted cheddar cheese, and the 2x double-yolk eggs was a beautiful thing. On a separate visit, I got a Denver skillet ($7.20) with onions + peppers + ham and extra crispy bacon (+$2.50). My side of 2 pancakes was just fine. I would place a lot of confidence in their egg dishes, to be honest.Bread = 4.5Circuses = 3.5Our server was nice, apart from having to relay the whole "we can't make an exception for you" bit. The server on my 2nd visit was the only one waiting tables, and that older woman was working her butt off. Props to her.An interesting note, I almost got run over by an Escalade in the parking lot whilst trying to take a picture of the sign outside. #darwinaward* TL;DR *Ample skillet selection and great value can be found here. 4 Yolks is aptly named, cuz that's exactly what you'll get with most orders here, and it makes for terrific photos. They're very generous with their egg-related items, which are consistently tasty.Don't let the slightly unnerving strip mall scare you away, this is a solid breakfast spot in the Montclare neighborhood. 4 stars for 4 Yolks.

Another one of these places I've seen while driving by and finally took the time to go in. Stopped there for breakfast and decided to try the Denver Omelette - which is my usual "go-to" breakfast at "first visit" places.Sizeable omelette and lots of fresh veggies - a few less green peppers and a tad more ham would have been better. American fries (hash browns) were pretty good. My lightly toasted English muffin came out as I ordered it. Service was good - an oversight on my orange juice order was quickly remedied.Even though they room has a few trinkets here and there, generally the atmosphere was pretty blah for a breakfast place. Also, while there were credit card stickers on the door, a handwritten paper "Cash Only" sign was taped to it. Not sure what that was all about. It's "gobackable".

This place is great for those that are looking for a breakfast on a budget and quick. I've never been inside so I can't speak to that however I've heard it looks like a typical diner and that it's "fine". I feel like it's kind of a chore to finish your meal. While it's awesome that they give you great quantity but I think that the quality could be worked on. I'm not sure why the last few times we've ordered from here everything tastes rather bland. They forgot the whipped cream on the pancakes and they did not have the walnuts or pecans for the pancakes either. I I'm not sure what they cook the eggs in, but it tastes like some type of artificial butter or weird oil. The eggs look nice but I can't really say that they taste that great. After trying to eat half my meal, I had wished I ordered from IHOP or Denny's and just spent a bit more. But maybe I just ordered the wrong things every time.

I expected better because of the high reviews, but was nothing but disappointed and upset. I ordered a skillet for pickup. I hen I went to pick up my food, it was in a regular white styrofoam box, no issue there. My problem is that they didn't take any precaution to keep the food in the styrofoam box. When I went to pick up my food, half of it was in the plastic bag and the other half was in the styrofoam box. Also, the food is not good. At all. Skillet was dry and I didn't even know skillets could be dry! Host was very nice and polite, that's their only redeeming quality.

Second time we've tried this place, still not good. Biscuit and gravy omelette was stone cold, my son's eggs Benedict had some sort of nacho cheese sauce instead of hollandaise, Canadian bacon tasted like honey ham cut into circles. Husband says his steak skillet is ok. Took quite a while to get the food which explains why mine was cold. Waitress asked if we wanted a box for the untouched Benedict and omelette. Please God no.
