To be honest, it's 'not that I didn't like the vibe or the food at all. In fact, the food was alright and the store felt very comfortable and authentic. I ordered the halo halo and the lunch combo. The lunch food was actually delicious and a sizeable portion for the price of it. But, the halo halo was overpriced, did not have as much content as I was expecting, and not as good as the ones I've had before. It really felt more like a shaved ice, kind of shoved together for a really high price. The grocery store did feel authentic and genuine, but the prices were marked up really high from what I'm used to. A trip to Bellaire would prove that there are fresher, well-known products and groceries for a more affordable. What DID bother me, was the fact that I was asked to leave after I had ordered and decided to stay for a while, even though there was no customers or a demand for tables. I was hanging around as a paying customer, not bothering anybody, just working on my laptop, and I was asked to leave. I'm a big sucker for service, and they lost me. I don't understand why I wasn't allowed to stay. I was actually considering making this place my new work stop for lunch time, but seeing as I'm not welcome here for anything more than my money, I'll be taking my business elsewhere that does. Sorry, it's just the truth.

First time visiting this Filipino market and was surprised by the variety of grocery items they had in stock. From fresh produce to frozen specialty foods/desserts/sauces and everything in between, it seemed like they had it all. The only challenge I had with this visit was the cleanliness of this place and also the number of cashiers available to check out grocery shoppers. Despite there being a decent amount of customers (10 wandering around), there was only 1 cashier on hand to handle the transaction in the grocery line and 1 cashier in the buffet line. This resulted in a 15 minute wait to check out and uncomfortable wait as the check out line is a makeshift line blocking grocery aisles. It's a crowded experience and we had to keep moving around in the line to accommodate the folks shopping with their carts and the balik Bayan boxes. As far as cleanliness, this place could use a good scrubbing, dusting and airing out. Maybe they can consider better ventilation and an extra hand to tidy up, sweep and clean up the aisles. IMHO, when it comes to food and any place that is handling food, this market needs to step up and do better.Overall, I would recommend this market for the good selection of items, but be prepared for potentially longer lines due to the limited number of cashiers.

The comments about the rude cashier/employee is true. I think this place would have better reviews if she was nicer. Other than that their products tend to be a bit pricier than the bigger Asian stores that are not Filipino specific like viet hoa, hmart, or 99 ranch but you may find more specific Filipino brands here. It is also conveniently located near jollibee, red ribbon and Max's. They also have a very small meat market and a decent turo turo place inside which is nice. The place definitely has potential to be great. I hope the owners pay attention to what people say.

Came here for the first time with my wife all the way from Bryan College Station just to get her Filipino food fix and so I can stock up on Filipino snacks and ingredients. We found some dry fish (sticky dried salty fish) and they also have a small Filipino restaurant in here. We ordered the Pinakbet and Dinuguan (both flavorful and delicious). It's not the biggest store, but it had what we needed. It's conveniently located next to other Filipino shops such as Jollie Bees, Max of Manila, etc.The staff is very friendly and helpful. The parking lot is large.

I tried to pick something up from the meat case, but there was no point to be found so we asked the cashier for help. She was emptying the trash can. She took her time finishing with the trash, and walked to the meat case to help us. I pointed out what I wanted, and she bagged, weighed, and walked to the front of the meat counter to meet us.I noticed that there was a lot of moisture in her gloves, which is weird, because I would have expected her to put on new gloves before handling the meat. So I asked if she changed her gloves between the time she handled the trash and the meat. She said- No, but you're going to cook it anyway! It doesn't matter! No way did I take that. She went back behind the counter changed her gloves, and tried to give us another piece, but yuck. There's no way I'd buy anything here that wasn't pre-packaged. It was disgusting. I ended up paying for the rest of the stuff that was in the basket, but it was overpriced. She also made us feel guilty for refusing to take the meat that she touched with her trash glove hands. So ridiculous.
