"This is our second time visiting. We stopped on our way back home to Ohio. I must say we'd give The Dixie Pig a 5 star rating all day long. The bbq is amazing no matter what you choose and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Nothing fancy but you can't beat it!"
"Cute place reminded me of restaurants at Virginia beach.. the crab dish was good.. filling enough .. We had to wait to be seated and we decided to have a drink at the bar.. bartenders there not so friendly but of course friendly when they give you your Bill hoping to get a decent tip.. our waitress seemed like she was rushing ... checked on us once thus the 4 stars.. over all the place was nice and clean.. The food was good but the service not so good .. with all the other places to eat on the boardwalk I probably will not be back.."

"I've been eating at Mac's Speed shop for years & remain a big fan. I absolutely love their smoked wings. The wings are meaty and tender with a nice char on the outside. I am really into their Down South eggrolls stuffed with pulled pork, cole slaw, mac & cheese. Honestly, put anything in an egg roll and I'm eating it. Recently, I tried their buffalo chicken wrap with Hot Gold sauce and it was pretty good! The chicken was a little over cooked and chewy but other than that, great flavor. I've actually never had their BBQ but would be open to trying it."
"OMG i had to run this back twice. The salmon was sooo good. The sides were soooo good! Not a NC native. Actually from Texas and i recommend this place 10 out of 10!"
"My friends took my wife and me to this must-go BBQ joint in downtown Winston-Salem. First of all, there is an arcade and some tables even have Nintendo games to play! That's awesome! My wife and I shared the 3 meat tray. Everything was phenomenal and we had enough for a 2nd meal. The ribs were my favorite as they fell off the bone and they had a sweet tangy red sauce. The pulled pork was next as it was what you would expect from North Carolina BBQ! I loved the vinegary sauce! The brisket was really good too as it had the same sauce as the ribs. For our sides, I loved the BBQ slaw. I never had a slaw like it and could not get enough of its BBQ vinegar base. The sweet potato casserole was phenomenal and made me feel like it was the holidays. We also got the 3 cheese mac and it was homemade casserole style. Slaw comes with the platter but I would have a hard time choosing between the sweet potato casserole and Mac and cheese.Sweet tea was extremely sweet but refreshing for this Bama Boy!Camel City is a must-go BBQ destination."
"This was our second time having great barbecue at this great little spot right off the highway. We also appreciated how clean and friendly they were."
"I believe BBQ Joes has by far the best bbq in the surrounding area. Service is mediocre but the bbq is top notch. On my visit today I had to place my order at the bar, the last time I dined here I was waited on at the table but that has apparently changed. The baked beans were very flavorful. The fries are beer battered, not my preference. Sweet tea is delicious. If you want good bbq then see the folks at BBQ joes at one of their two locations."
"This was not just around the corner so after a 30 minute drive we arrived. I read many reviews about Black Powder and had been looking forward to coming here. It is counter service that moves quickly with the menu board above.I ordered the beef brisket sandwich with a side of the Gouda Mac n cheese and then got a second side of greens. The brisket was chopped not sliced and piled high on the bun. The counter guy gave me a small side of slaw to put on top and I chose the Eastern Carolina sauce...I think called The Mop. The sauce went perfect with the brisket and even without sauce it was delicious and full of a smoked flavor. The Mac n cheese was a bit wet but extremely tasty and the greens were excellent and I added a small amount of the same sauce. To me this was great BBQ and I highly recommend anyone coming here that likes BBQ."
"What?! Vegan BBQI'm amazed at how good this was and appreciate all side items were vegan. Mind blown that Bobby's is cranking out home style BBQ with vegan products They have meat options that seemed popular by the looks of the line and the "mmmm" sounds around the table seating areas. Sauces at the table - great to add but the items are so tasty - potatoes and Mac n cheese are my favs. Definitely will come back!"
"Far from great but not horrible. Most of the brisket we ordered was super dry but a few bites were great. Mac and cheese is meh, and my buddy didn't like the side of beans. Customer services was ok. They weren't unkind, just seemed like the bare minimum interaction with us to complete the order. Came here because I couldn't fit my truck in Ace No. 3's tiny lot. Glad I tried it, doubt I'll go back."
"We came here for dinner one week night and was happy to find decent bbq. The interior of the restaurant is well lit in the main dining room, but we opted to sit at the bar which can seat up 8 people near the kitchen. The service was good as the bartender did a good job consistently checking on us. We started with the fried pork skins (chicharrones) which were surprisingly very delicious. They came out fresh and as we ordered with the bbq rub on the side. I never had blue cheese with my chicharrones but I have to say it is a great addition to the dish. For my main course I had the brisket sandwich which was OK my only complaint is I wish the meat was a little more tender and moist. Overall good food and ambiance, I plan to visit in the future and try out some of their happy hour specials."
"Pik N Pig has to be one of the best barbq joint in North Cackalacky . I swear to higher ups! Someone told me to come check this place out It's our there in the woods right by the airport To me, being able to enjoy some tasty yummy barbecue brisket, pork chops, smoked chicken and pulled pork while watching the planes take off and land is such a fun and unique experience for people of all ages. Service is outstanding and the atmosphere can't get any better. It was 80 degrees and no clouds. What a day to spent on a Sunday yeah .My favorite was the smoked chicken. I'm sure you guyz will be on your way here.I like it a lot ...I'm sure you'll like it too won't disappoint.j"

The ambiance is a bbq joint straight out of a movie. They opened the door early for an employee. The door remained open even though they weren't so ppl started filing in including us.Ordered the 1/4 dark meat smoked chicken with the white slaw and fries. Loved the ranch dressing! The white slaw was a little too sweet for me. The fries seem to be from a bag so it's all about the ranch. The smoked chicken was smoked chicken. Solid offering.

OMG !!! Macs !!! Your food was delicious! If you haven't been to Macs Speed Shop in a while what are you even doing with your life ? This place has fantastic food and we got proof ! The Brunswick Stew was off the charts delicious. Topped with a Cesar salad and boom - lunch was complete. The other folks in my office opted for sandwiches with tots & some egg rolls . The egg rolls were a hit with everyone! Just go there . You will thank me later ! Two thumbs way up !

This place is FIRE!!!! This is our second time coming here and the food is literally 10/10. If you want good barbecue this is the spot. Everything, literally everything tastes so good. From the brisket to the sweet potato casserole and their amazing mac n cheese, there is nothing here that doesn't taste good. Not only is the food good, but the place is so cool! There's several different floors, including a barcade! Such a fun place to bring family or friends. Wow just wow!

First time visit today for lunch.Greeted at the cash register by the nicest young man. Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.Food was fantastic. Combo platter pork, ribs and beef. Hush puppies with hint of jalapeño and great dipping sauce. Sides were equally good.Sat outside on covered porch. Very nice breeze.Ended up talking with the owner for 15 minutes or so. Very sweet lady and could not have been nicer. If you are traveling on 40 going west towards Asheville stop in ... if you're leaving Asheville on 40 going east ... stop in. Easy parking, no rush and yes they were busy but the food was ready FAST!

Positive aspects first:The ordering process is streamlined. Yes, it is an a la carte menu, but if you aren't sure what you want just step to the side and think about it before you get in line. Once you're in the queue, you start by selecting meats (type and quantity), then side dishes at the next station, and then you pay. Easy and fast. And the staff behind the counter are helpful. It's a clean facility with comfortable seating for both inside and outside dining.Pretty pleased with the jalapeno cheddar sausage as well as the barbecue beans; both were tasty and seemed worthy of their prices. I also appreciate that they offer pickles and onions as accompaniments. As for the less pleasing elements of my visit: The brisket isn't cheap, and nearly half of my cut was fat. Yes, I want some fat in there for flavor, but not half of what I paid for. And I didn't feel as though the brisket had a distinctly smoky or strong flavor either. I've had great brisket (thank you, Texans) and this didn't measure up. Getting in and out of the parking lot is a bit messy. The entrance is on one side of a traffic light, which means it can be difficult and slow for those in the far lane to cross over to the entrance. And then the exit is on the other side of the traffic light, and only allows for right-turn departures. It simply isn't a convenient place to access or leave. Verdict: It's nice to have barbecue options that vary from the Lexington-style standard. If the brisket had been smokier and meatier, you'd see especially high marks from me here, but I'll trim my ratings down to 3.5 stars to offset the somewhat disappointing cut of beef. If I'd stuck to the sausage and beans alone -- 4.5.

"Service is polite and quick. We got fried zucchini and chips for appetizers. The chip are very good. Zucchini was bland. I had the ribs and wing plate. Husband had calabash chicken and rib plate. They fell off the bone, heavier smoke than I usually like but they are very good. Chicken and wing very good. Hand squeeze lemonade was delicious."
"Ordered the beef bulgogi bowl with a side of kimchi through UberEATS. It hit the spot. You definitely need the kimchi to round out the meal. If you're looking for authentic Korean food (where you get 10 little bowls of banchan with your order, you won't find that here. Just fyi."
"3*= A OK1st time here with a group of friends. Seating was fine and service was well. Drinks were not the best. Not balanced and sour mix/lime juice forward. Food was tasty and complaints were minimal. (i.e. too much salad dressing when dressing salad, and could have been hotter in temperature)"
"Brisket, tomato-slaw, French fries, hush puppies, beans, a vinegar base sauce, and sweet tea.I wanted ribs, greens, corn bread, and Mac n cheese. Well, this restaurant didn't have any of that. Today,(Thursday) is Brisket day, so I had the brisket. Tender pulls apart easy, fair taste. Of course, I had sauce all over it. Hush puppies seemed to be heat lamped, cooked earlier. The beans I tasted and left on the plate! I've only recently had tomato slaw. That's an acquired taste, and I've had it twice, but I still don't know what to think about it. I do not think I will be a regular at this establishment."
"My wife and I decided to get some BBQ and there was only one place you go to get that, Rock Store! This place is a very small little hut with about 5-7 seats in it. Most people get the food to go or eat it in their car. We got it go and took it back home. If you blink when you drive by you might miss it so pay attention. It has a small parking lot of about 5 spaces. Park and walk in the front door. Time to order. We get the same thing every time. BBQ pork plate. You can get a sandwich but we prefer the plate. You get two sides. We get the corn bread that is absolutely amazing! We also get Mac and cheese. It's ok, could be better but good enough to eat. It also comes with a bun. I can usually get about 3 sandwiches out of the plate. If you're in the mood for dessert, get the banana pudding and get the large. It's very good. This place has never disappointed us in the many times we have gone. I fully recommend trying this place out. Price: $25-30."
"My husband and I ate here last night. The barbecue is delicious. Actually, everything was delicious, the hotdog, fries, coleslaw, hushpuppies and tea. Our waitress was very friendly as well. Stop by and give it a try."
"At this point Woodlands barbecue is an institution! They were there when I attended Appalachian State University 30 years ago and they're still there. Actually, they were already very well known to the students and locals in the area even before that.Their barbecue is as good as anybody's with a fantastic smoke flavor that's to die for! There smoked wings are awesome!l and they still do it the old-school way! It's the whole wing including the tip! It's the only place I know of that you can still get them that way. Cheers!"
"Great Lexington BBQ and definitely one to f my go to's in the area! Take some friends and enjoy a giant banana split but ensure you bring your bib. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is always clean."
"This is the Indian location but it's listed as Fort Mill and I always thought ppl were crazy when they said one location taste better than the other but now I believe. This location is inconsistent at best. Sometimes the bbq is dry and when I ordered chili cheese fries this visit the chili or the cheese had a burnt/scorched taste to it and the fries were under done. The hush puppies are smaller and we're not consistently fried (some light and some dark) which tells me they were either a mix of fresh and leftover hush puppies or someone has no idea how to set timers on the fryer. We'll be giving this location a break and going to the Tega Cay location hoping for better results."
"The dining room was really cool and the food was even better. We got the down south egg rolls, hush puppies, brisket dip sandwich, and a pulled pork platter (which came with toast, pickles, and 2 sides!). Absolutely recommend"
"No frills, just delicious BBQ! Located in a strip mall the place has indoor and outdoor seating. Ordered the brisket and ribs. Both were good but my favorite item was something I did not order! They gave me a sausage and it was amazing! Even better than the meats were the sides. Cornbread was fresh baked and delicious, the sweet potato dish was amazing, and the poblano cream corn was made with a crème brûlée sugar top, talk about next level. My only criticism would be they need to use a better rub on their meats. Brisket had that great BARK we all love but wasn't seasoned well. Same with the ribs. I need to introduce them to MEAT CHURCH rubs. Maybe they will see this review, google Meat Church, and use their rubs?"
"I've followed Bobbee O's from their earlier location and used them for family picnics in multiple occasions. In a city with multiple BBQ restaurants my family and I wouldn't give them repeat business unless we knew that Bobbee O's serves good Q and sides promptly at a fair price on a consistent basis. Heartily recommend."
"This was the first time eating here with my husband. We walked in and were sat at a table that had not been wiped down from the previous customers. It was clearly dirty. We were given menus and when our server came to take our drink orders, we asked that the table be wiped down. We had to ask again for it to be wiped down about 15 minutes later when our drinks arrived. So we were not impressed with service at all.The side dishes all sounded delicious so I went with the platter of sides that came with 2 hush puppies and pickled onion. My husband had the pulled pork sandwich with house made salt and vinegar chips. Our favorites were definitely the pork, the chips , hush puppies and green beans. 5 stars for all of those!I think the black eyed peas were good but they are a cold salad and it made me realize that I prefer my BEP warm. The Mac and cheese was ok and the Asian slaw was disappointing in its lack of flavor from the dressing. The sides were all extremely fresh and everything was made with high quality ingredients. They did NOT cheap out on the sides and I love them for this. I'm a big veggie girl and appreciate that there were many healthy options and that they had vegetarian and vegan options. There is really something here for everyone. We are looking forward to our next visit."
"Oh BBQ! This is a perfect stop while driving through on the interstate. The portions are generous and the house-made sauces are awesome - especially the cheerwine BBQ sauce. We were excited that we could buy the sauces and take them home. A plus: the platters come with hush puppies automatically so you get to pick two additional sides. Melvin's is a come as you are super casual spot. If you're anywhere near the area, plan a stop - you won't be sorry."
"This no frills drive up dining experience has been around since 1959. There is no ambiance per say but it will take you back in time. The service was quick and friendly. They were surprised when we said we were taking it to go, so I suppose some people eat in their car! There are a lot of parking spaces here too.I ordered the BBQ Plate with chopped pork. I could have finished my plate, but wanted to save room for dessert so left some fries behind. The value is great! I ordered two plates and tipped 20%, which totaled at $30 with the credit card fee. Bring cash if you can to save 3%.As others have noted, the standard sauce is slightly sweet but not overpowering. I enjoyed it and may ask for a spicy version next time. Go support a local restaurant that has stood the test of time!"
"Stopped on our way home. Pork bbq and ribs were delicious. BBQ coleslaw very good. Onion rings- I would say they are more like onion strings but we're tastyOrder at counter and they bring food to table, very friendly"
"Food is always amazing here. Whistle Stop is a bit pricey but the food is great. They have inside and a deck seating. Deck overlooks the Swamp Rabbit trail. So there is always people moving around. Service was a little slow but worth the wait. Next place to enjoy a meal seat and talk and just let the world go by."
"As I only moved to the area a year ago, I've only been to R&R twice. My partner being a local has been many times. I can see why it's been around so long. First of all, the ambiance is as nostalgic as you're gonna get. Even after moving locations they kept up their theme to a T. It is an adorable restaurant and if you have kids, they better know about this gem. They have a railroad track with train overhead and tons of things that go with the theme. The place is big enough to accommodate any size party as well. Being that we went on a weeknight, our service was great too. The food was fresh and came out rather quickly. We got two huge plates and each tried a little of everything the first time and even had leftovers for the next day. My favorite meat was the pulled pork that I smothered in vinegar sauce and then used the sweet sauce to dip. My favorite item overall was the fried corn on the cob though. It will get stuck in your teeth though. The second time I had it was to go on a Monday night to try their Mississippi pot roast. It was great but not the same portion size you get from the bbq and I can't say that I blame them. You do get a load of mashed potatoes with it and choice of another side. It was also very flavorful. But, I'll stick to making my own. I'm looking forward to going back, this is the kind of place I'll work my way through the whole menu."
"One of my family's favorite places in the Triad. It's kid friendly with a variety of southern fare. I don't often eat the bbq, but it is certainly tasty! My go-to is the catfish, the veggie plates and the bbq chicken, but really I don't think you can go wrong. This past Friday night, my family and I enjoyed a delicious meal and ended it all with their new banana pudding crunch. It's just a big bowl of their already incredible banana pudding but topped with a crunchy pecan crumble. I highly recommend it!! As you can see in my picture, my youngest was obsessed with it too.The staff here often consists of a lot of young people, so they aren't always the most friendly, however they rarely make mistakes and the service is always very fast! The owner came out to visit and made sure everything turned out well. Such a great touch!"
"One of the best BBQ place I have ever been to. The service was great and the price was very reasonable. Too bad I don't live nearby, I was just visiting. If I am ever near here again I will definitely come back. Highly recommended."
"AMAZING! In my experience when you get burgers to go they tend to be soggy and cold but not these. My husband and I loved the burgers, fries were okay and baked beans were sweet and tangy. My husband said the service was quick. Highly recommend! The goat burger is the one I had and loved it."
"YES! My Daughter was right! This is an amazing place with great food. I now understand why a friend here for only 3 days went there to eat twice. We arrived around 11:00 and there was already a good crowd. My allergies started acting up and I realized it was because of the smoke from cooking. (It was worth it.) Service was great even though I could tell she was in the weeds. Daily special was meatloaf and I was tempted, but I can make it and cannot make barbecue. Barbecue portions were large and I loved their sauce and added some hot sauce on top. Yum! I won't order Mac and cheese in the future because it was mushy and lacking in cheese. I highly recommend this restaurant. I was Very tempted to get peach cobbler. The price was a little too high in my opinion and it's not like I was hungry afterwards. Doggy bag please."
"Despite doing through Winston for years, this was my first time visiting Mr. Barbecue, and it did NOT disappoint! (My son, who lived in Winston for years, swears they are best BBQ joint in NC.)I had the brisket tray with red slaw and hush puppies, with unsweet tea - a true Carolina tradition. The barbecue is Lexington style, and the brisket was tender and delicious. The red slaw is a favorite of mine, too. If you're local, or just passing through, it's well worth a visit!"
