Char Burger

Awesome onion rings, gyros, cheeseburgers...move over Sonic! They have the best ice! Super friendly and a Deer Park institution!

Fries were bland. They were out of shakes and had a meat shortage. So I wasn't allowed a double. Disappointing.

I wish I didn't have to give a star at all but here is what I got, after waiting 20 mins on my food. I got hair and the thinnest raw patty ever.

Decided to go here after a game of golf and was astonished by the DELECTABLE gyro! Will definitely come again and strongly recommend to others after meeting the amazing staff.

The 1/2 lbs. burger & the gyro are the REAL DEAL HOLYFIELD! Delicious! This restaurant is a Deer Park staple. I've also enjoyed the shake, chocolate coke & their sweet tea is on point. In the last 3 weeks I've eaten there multiple times.

Anazing burgers! The service was great. Order anything, you cant go wrong. They treat you like family.

I had high hopes for Deer Park's burger landmark. I was expecting fresh burgers, fresh and plentiful toppings for said burgers and some delicious homemade fries. What we got instead was bland burgers with absolutely no sauce of any kind, watery chili-cheese fries with overcooked potatoes. I ordered their regular char-burger all the way- with lettuce, tomatoes and onions and although we ordered mayo, they included no mayo and no mustard either so the burger was super dry. The patty also wasn't seasoned well and besides the texture, I couldn't tell the difference between the hamburger patty and the bun. The french fries tasted like oil that hasn't been replaced in quite some time and my fries were soggy. Overall, the food was the type that you'd find at a Six Flags or a movie theater and I honestly don't understand the praise.

Sloppy, inconsistent and not very well prepared. So many good burgers around town, skip char burger.

Today was my first time to Char Burger. The parking lot was empty, so I was at first concerned that either they weren't open, or they weren't very good. I was wrong on both counts. They were, in fact, open. Several patrons came in with all but 1 getting orders to go. The interior of the building reminded me of an old fashioned burger place. It was dated, but clean and a bit nostalgic. I ordered a cheese burger with some onion rings. I had to wait a bit because they cook everything to order. The burger had a great flavor, and the onion rings were fantastic. I do wish I'd ordered a double meat cheeseburger because the patties were on the small side - I'm guessing 1/4 lb. The only criticism I have is the person making my drink scooped my cup through the ice machine - a big no-no in restaurants. For sanitation reasons they should always use an ice scoop. I'm not a germaphobe so I didn't worry about it, but it details like that that can lead to issues with inspectors or getting customers sick.When I'm in the mood for a good hamburger, I'll definitely go back.

We stopped by here today and there was no one here. The burgers were frozen and she was going to have to thaw it out, and they were out of tater tot's, and they were out of fish!! We will not be back.
