Chapterhouse Café & Gallery

We came here to kill a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon, and were really happy with our choice! It's a super spacious area, with a ton of seating well spaced out across multiple rooms and floors. Lots of charging, WiFi, etc. Staff is also super friendly and welcoming, and overall, gave great vibes.I got the Dominican mocha, and it was honestly great. Mochas typically aren't my drink of choice, but this wasn't overly sweet, and provided a great balance of spices to the rich chocolate. Really creamy as well!An awesome spot to hang or to get work done, would definitely give it a shot!

DRINKSI swung by around 10am and ordered an iced Dominican mocha (5.50 w/o tip or tax). It was creamy and flavorful and not too sweet.SERVICEThe staff are kind and friendly! You could tell they make an effort to remember customers and often converse with regulars.AMBIANCEThere are two levels for seating, one on the same floor as the register and the second a floor below with ample seating and sunlight. Plenty of outlets are available as well. A lot of people come here to work/study, and there's period of silence and bustle.PARKINGPaid street parking is available at a limited capacity.BATHROOMThe bathroom is clean and tidy. It is located on the main floor.

I have been coming here to try their various hot chocolate variations since the past several years. Yesterday was the first time I was disappointed. Had their chili chocolate which specifically mentions "spicy" in the description. It was not spicy by any definition. It did not even taste like a basic hot chocolate. It was more like bland chocolate. But I was more disappointed on the very stinky whipped cream that was added to my hot chocolate. It was definitely whipped cream gone bad. I have to mention that my husband got the black and tan which is a peanut butter and hazelnut hot chocolate and it was much better than mine but definitely not as good as my previous experience. I have noticed a change in their baristas (albeit friendly) so likely that's the reason.

This was my second time here and I want to keep coming back. Staff were nice and walked me through all of the pastry options. They also have ice cream available. The space is quite large and there is also a downstairs area I believe so can come and stay for a while to study or go for a quick chat/meeting with a friend or colleague.

I stopped by here to try somewhere new -- I love finding neat coffee houses to get work done, and this place is perfect! With art by local artists on the wall, plenty of comfortable places to sit, lots of unique drinks (I had a Dominican mocha), and friendly staff, this is definitely somewhere I'll visit again!

What a great discovery. Great coffee. Location is convenient as it's close to some delicious places. Service was friendly. Super spacious for a Philly coffee shop (more seats downstairs). Loved the artsy vibe there and the decor. I had their chocolate berry mocha latte and it was really good. Highly recommend!

My go to for studying purposes because they always have tables open WITH outlets! They also have free WiFi. Check out the downstairs at the back of the cafe for more seating as well. Friendly staff and unique drink selection.

Chapterhouse Cafe is such a quaint cafe perfect for studying or catching up with friends. The cafe provides cozy and quiet vibes along with delicious coffee. I ordered an iced berry mocha latte and it was delicious. I've never had a berry flavored latte and the sweetness from the fruits paired well with coffee. Chapterhouse also has many other unique latte flavors that you wouldn't see at typical cafes. They also provide seasonal flavors as well!I was surprised how large this cafe is especially for Philly! There's two floors of seating, so you're always able to find a table. I would like to come back again!

I've been slowly trying out many of the coffee shops around Philly, and Chapterhouse is the first one that I knew I wanted to recommend straight away. I came upon Chapterhouse during a stroll down off of South Street and it looked inviting from the outside, so I went in. With a friendly staff, a quaint atmosphere with plenty of little nooks to work or to vibe with friends, and by far the best spicy Chai latte I've had so far, I almost wish this place was in my neighborhood because I'd be there every day.
