Chappell Hill Sausage Company welcomes you with great smelling smoked meats as you pull in. There are a few tables to eat there and there was a constant flow of people. I ordered a jalapeño sausage on a stick (a must from a place that has sausage in its title) as well as a junior bacon cheeseburger. It was all so good! And it was no junior burger, this is a massive burger. You have to get it with bacon because the bacon was thick and crispy. I'm a fan! Thanks Chappell Hill Sausage Company for a great lunch.

I've been a long time Chappell Hill original sausage lover. For years it's been the only sausage I'd buy or serve my family. The last two batches of this sausage that I've gotten have been totally unacceptable and disappointing. Not sure what you've changed but my family won't eat it anymore. It's obvious the casing is a lot harder than ever before, but more disconcerting is that the actual sausage even when removed from the casing has a different flavor. This new flavor has lost you a long time devoted customer. I'm going to struggle finding a new sausage for my family cook outs. I contacted the company directly last week and they sent the usual computer generated response, thanks for contacting us we will be in touch with you shortly. To date no response from the company, I guess their computer response only applies to satisfied customers, not to a customer of many years that has become unsatisfied with a long time favorite product

What a great excursion from Houston to visit the Sausage factory as my husband and I call it. We like the sausage on a bun, but they also have hamburgers, steaks and chicken. You can eat it there or take home raw meats to cook for yourself. I usually buy two of the garlic sausage link packs to take home. They are just the right size for a bun or piece of Bread.When we there today, two people at different tables got onion rings and they smelled Devine. I think I will try some next time I'm there.Aside from some pretty good food they also have gifts you can purchase like: preserves, painted goblets and hot hands, baking mixes for breads and cakes and other craft items. Would be a good place to buy a Christmas gift for a friend or relative.They have a nice outdoor seating area as well. Hope you enjoy when you go. It's on the way to Austin, so stop in and try it when you can.

Family Owned Chappell Hill Sausage Company 50 Years and we have been coming for the past 20.

My family and I love this place! My husband decided to take my daughter and I here. He said he stops by this restaurant all the time on his way back in town ( truck driver). He and my daughter are VERY picky eaters. We went on a Saturday afternoon. When we arrived the line was to the door, but it moved very fast. My daughter says she can't wait to visit again. It's an hour drive from where we live, but well worth the drive.

Our family took a quick excursion to this shop while visiting relatives in Houston. We planned the visit so that we could eat lunch before stocking up on sausages. All the food we ordered was of great quality, favorites included brisket sandwich, fried okra and beef chili. We loved how quaint the restaurant ambience is, it reminded us of an old farm kitchen. We ended up getting a few things from their country store too since it was near Christmas time, good selection.As for the sausages we bought, we've grilled the first batch already and they did not disappoint. We highly recommend. Service could be a bit friendlier, reason why we are giving them 4 stars instead of 5.

Great customer service, nice ambiance and nice clean store/restaurant with 8 tables to enjoy your meal. Ordered the loaded fries, BLT Sandwich, sausage on a bun, and the seasoned pork burger. Everything was delicious. The bbq could have had a little more sauce on it but I believe there are condiment bottles in the fridge for your use. The bacon on the BLT was nice and thick and the bread was thick and buttery. The meat could have been better seasoned for the pork burger but otherwise good. Didn't get to eat the sausage because we were so full already but I will edit later. If in the area I'd stop again. They do have reasonably priced meats and sausages. Give them a try, I'd recommend them.

Stopping here has been a tradition every year when driving out to see the bluebonnets. We looked forward to sausage sandwiches. This year, however, we were surprised to see that all of the specials had nothing to do with the products they are known for. The menu board was the same, though, and we ordered from that. The woman at the counter became very angry, telling us that she didn't think any sausage had been cooked and none was ready. We'd have to wait. We agreed to wait, but only because we were so confused. No sausage ready and a rude woman at the counter? Unheard of here. She continued to be rude, and made sure we were aware of how we had inconvenienced her by not ordering the specials, none of which were sausage and none of which we remembered ever seeing here before. Looking around the place I realized that all of the workers behind the counter were just standing there. No one was purchasing sausage or from their meat department. Again, that was new to us. Now I see from a few of the reviews that the locals are already aware things have changed. I just didn't put it together quick enough that day. In the end, we should have ordered the special or just left because we have been so very sick for a day and a half now after eating there. The casing was very hard and the sausage was not what we remembered, very tough. Our fries had been microwaved and were hard as a rock when we got them. BAD FOOD, for the first time ever from here. It has to have changed hands. This is not at all what we remembered. But it's what we'll remember now as we drive right on by next time.

I'm not sure if the change of owner I've been told about has anything to do with what I heard but the male owner was aggressively talking politics with someone at the table and I heard a lot of it while sitting and waiting for my lunch order to be cooked. It certainly changed my mind about this place and I won't be back anymore because of this. The food had become worse and worse with the lunch plate fried chicken burned beyond belief two times in a row. Too bad because I use to like this place but it's no longer what I thought it was.
