El Mejor de mejor The battle for best Quesa Birria continues. I have reviewed Chili Shack and Kike's but the new champ is Chaka's for a few reasons. The first is, they use lamb instead of beef which makes the flavor just that much more savory. Second, the consommé is so delicious that you just have to drink it all at the end. And lastly, the service here is always quick and attentive. The price with a fountain drink is a fair at $21. The wait staff are always kind, which I appreciate very much. The only downside is the Admin fee, just raise the prices by 4%. I'll post a pic next time. I was too hungry today to fuss with my phone.

8.50 for a side of guacamole?!?! I was appalled. Let me also start by saying service was perfect- waitress was kind, attentive, and food came out super fast. The food was decent quality, I had chicken enchiladas and they were good. However, you have to pay 4.00 extra for rice and beans. The salsa served with chips is this brown spicy salsa that is thin and not chunky. I didn't like it, but they don't have any alternatives. That brings me to the guacamole- I ordered it to go with the chips. The menu said the price is "market price" sure never heard of that!! Well no wonder- it was 8.50 for a tiny cup!! If they put that price on the menu no one would order it. Inside is ehhh- not updated and getting to the bathroom you have to walk down a dingy little hallway. I paid 40.00 for my meal and Diet Coke. Not worth it in my opinion!

I heard that Denver has amazing Mexican food so I was disappointed by this restaurant. I went around dinner time and we were sat right away. I ordered the beef burrito and beef tacos which came with rice and beans which were the 2 daily specials. Even though the taco had a lot of beef in it, they looked and tasted reheated; I expected a lot more from the good reviews that this restaurant has. Regardless, the staff was super nice and friendly.

The food was just meh... basic. I'm from central Texas and this fell short of quality Mexican food.However, the chile con queso was very good and what saved the meal. I don't think the food will be enough for us to return.

Very unsuspecting spot from the exterior packing a ton of flavor. Chakas has a large menu with extremely fast service and very fair prices. The portions are huge and the food is packed with flavor. The California burrito was as big as the plate and loaded with meat. Then beautifully topped with the house green chili to bring it to the next level. Stop in here for a great lunch or quick dinner.

We were looking for a go-to classic Mexican restaurant and found this place. To start the complementary salsa and house margaritas were great! Overall, the food was very good! There was some sort of spice in my enchiladas that seemed out of place. Maybe cumin? I'm not sure, but it was a flavor that I haven't normally had in enchiladas that I could have done without. But the dish was still good! The service was super fast and we loved the authentic Mexican music! We will definitely be back!

This place had amazing food and margaritas. It is kinda far from our house, but we will be returning soon. We were in a corner and had to flag down a waiter to make order our food. They took our order for margaritas. They brought the chips and salsa when they took our drink order.

Decided to try a recommendation from a co worker. Margs were good, not too sweet. We went on Valentine's Day and they had a couples special going on so we went with the fajitas. Very good! The special included a meal plus desert which we chose the cheese cake (delicious). On top of that they brought out chocolate covered strawberries to help promote the specials extending into the weekend! The place is small and packed but Service was good a quick!

Mexican for breakfast??? Delicious & quiet with superior service. My friend & I meet once a month, today was my choice. Love Chakas for lunch, happy hour & dinner. Now I am a full day client. Choices may not be trendy but eggs, bacon & hash browns with green chili is more than a delight.The best part is the ambience. People coming, eating and taking out without commotion.Quiet start to weekday morning.

One of our favorite Mexican restaurants in Denver. Food has a Tex-Mex flair. Service is always really fast. It's a small place so they can usually get you in and out quickly. Staff is always nice. Margaritas are very delicious too
