Where do I start? The mead, the atmosphere, the employees... All amazing! Derek and the rest of the staff are some of the coolest, most knowledgeable guys I've ever spoken to. They'll gladly tell you about how/where they select the specific types of honey they use for their mead, as well as the overall process.I first heard about Celtic Cross way back when they initially opened shop, and I remember thinking how cool it was that we had a legit meadery in League City. I tried their very first mead and thought it was outstanding. Since then, they've branched out and now have a wide variety of meads to choose from.Even better, they now have a really cool and intimate taproom where you can hang out and try their various meads, cakes (amazing, btw), and their surprisingly good charcuterie board. They encourage you to bring board games to play while enjoying the mead, and even have several available for you to use. It's seriously rare to find a hidden gem like this, where it's extremely obvious that the owners enjoy what they do. There's no doubt in my mind that they are going to majorly take off in the future and it will be cool to say I knew them back when they were small. To Derek and the rest of the crew, keep doing what you're doing. You seriously have something special going, and your awesome personalities are going to ensure that Celtic Cross keeps growing and gathers a following.

I never thought I'd see a meadery open up in League City, but this place is great! My husband and I visited with a couple friends last weekend. It's a pretty small place with 2 seats at the bar and a couple picnic tables in an adjoining room. The guy behind the bar was very knowledgeable and let us sample all the meads. They have several varieties, mostly sweet, but they also have a Buckwheat that's almost like drinking a beer. We all found something we liked and ended up hanging out for several hours. We'll definitely be back!

We went in to purchase a bottle of mead for a Christmas gift. We ended up staying for a while and sampling a few different types of mead. One of the owners served us and he is EXTREMELY knowledgeable in the process of making mead was open to answering all of our questions. He was extremely kind and conversational. Also, the mead is absolutely AMAZING!! I would 10/10 recommend it to anyone. They have a few different flavors on tap and 3 that you can buy in bottles. Each and every one that we tried was great. Support your local businesses and visit!

Hole in the wall meadery in League City you must stop by. We've been there twice since we discovered it. It's very laid back and welcoming. Everyone owners/patrons immediately welcomes you and makes you feel right at home. There is a a sense of community. We've had dinner elsewhere and gone after for a few drinks and boardgames. Sometimes there is a food truck. You can also bring food to the establishment. They are not a large production so each of their meads is carefully crafted. You did not be disappointed!

First visit - LOVE them! Great variety!! Even if you don't think you like mead, try again. They have options!!! Sweet, spicy, dry - and even coffee. Very friendly, knowledgeable and engaging staff. They have specialty events and activities such as D&D Table Top Night. This will be a regular stop for us now.

Have to say this is the friendliest drinking establishment we've been to! Great variety of flavors. Happy to inform you about mead. Was eye opening (and tasty) the different ways they can prepare it. It's not beer and it's not wine yet has similarities in the importance of ingredients and even the geographical source of the honey. If you enjoy trying different beverages, encourage you to give them a visit.

Came here for D&D night on the recommendation of some friends. Who knew there was such a cool hidden gem just a couple of miles from us! The owners Derek & Tanner were so nice & friendly. They made the experience even better. You really feel like you're a traveler who's wandered into a cozy tavern. I had no idea there were flavored meads & am now obsessed with the peacan coffee flavor. I will 100% be back!
