This has become one of my husband and I's favorite places to try new beer. They have a vast selection of craft beer with a ton of local options. For gluten free folks, they have a great selection of beer, cider, seltzers, and mead. There's always something new to try and it's going to take us forever to try everything. They also have a taproom and small plates, though we haven't tried those. They also have a lot of wine options, but again, we haven't tried any. The people who work in the store are always very nice and helpful!

Great place to pick up some local beer. Which I always go local when it comes to beer. They also have a good selection of wine.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff....great selection of beer and wines! They also have wines and beer by the glass with typically 6 or more on-tap.

Cellar 55 is nice because you can self pour wine or beer. The beer wall is smaller but stop at the cooler section if you don't see a beer that you like. There is also a lot of beer and wine options to purchase to take home.

Such a chill spot. You can choose between 16 wines and 8 beers to pour yourself. If you are not feeling the beer on tap, you can choose something from the fridge [the corkage fee is only 75 cents]. Cellar 55 has a great selection of beer and wines to enjoy at home too. Check out their Facebook page to see what events are happening each week.

My husband and I tried this location in hopes of finding a great wine and champagne and we did just that! I can't remember the cashiers name but she was most helpful and new a TON about all of the products offered. We specifically asked her about red wines and she recommended Red Dirt Red and my husband loved it! It was exactly as she described it! I wish I could remember her name because she was very helpful.

This used to be my bottle shop of choice for craft brews in this area. Not a small statement, considering that we have 4-5 amazing craft breweries within a 5 mile radius, as well as other specialty stores. And I realize that in the middle of this pandemic, there's a lot of confusion and frustration. However, today Cellar 55 dropped off my go-to list since I was told AT the register when I pulled out the cash that "we're not accepting cash for health and safety reasons". Really? No other local business is doing this that I've experienced, and you don't have ANY signs or notices posted to this effect. So this was a massive customer service fail that means I will try the competition next time.

Called ahead at 4pm to ask specifically if they had any of the Drink By 10.31 by Stone in 6pks. The gentleman who answered me looked and told me "yes, looks like we have 10 packs left"Arrived at 8:30pm, walked in and asked a different gentleman. He said oh yes, over here. Have them in singles and 4 packs. I was surprised and told him I was under the impression you had them in 6packs? His response? Replying smugly with a smile, "I can sell you 6 if you'd like." I explained that I called earlier to make sure they were in stock in what I wanted. He said "I'm not sure what your question is"I told him I don't really have a question, but I came here because I was told I could pick up a 6 pack. Again, his response, "so pick up 6 then" I said, yeah, for $18? I assumed I'd buy it for retail. No thanks. no, I'll just take one. I replied. He got short with me. Proceeds to ring me up promptly as he was clearly frustrated by me and said I can get my beer wherever I'd like then. Take care.Thanks. I will. Jerk. Won't be overpaying for beer that is released at retail prices.

Parents beware!!!My wife and I have frequented Cellar 55 for several years. Our most recent visit was our last. We met two other couples on Saturday afternoon for some beer and wine. One of the couples brought their children with them. The selection offered was somewhat limited but still varying and generally good. The service / management was appalling and the reason I won't return. The owner came to our table, visibly annoyed and rudely complained that the kids had made a noise and should be "kept quiet so others can enjoy their drinks too". The owner said "Don't ever bring your children here again". Nothing was broken and no one seemed bothered by the kids. They weren't screaming and we were all probably a little loud. It was 4pm on a Saturday afternoon....As we all left the store another patron approached us and suggested we visit The Mill in downtown. This helpful gentlemen said "They are much more kid friendly". I am so grateful for the recommendation because we found our new Saturday spot! Better selection, better prices and it appears much better people in charge. We saw no less than 5 other families with kids there. If you're looking for a quiet spot to read Cellar 55 might be your place. If you're looking for a lively place bustling with all kinds of people (even small people) I'd suggest The Mill.

My husband and I had a very upsetting experience Saturday afternoon at Cellar 55 in Fuquay. Let me preface with the fact that we have been frequent customers for the last 3 years, typically swinging by once a week to either have a few beers or buy a few beers. I would consider it our "go to" but we will no longer, along with friends of ours who were with us, return.Saturday, as we usually do, we brought our two small children with us and several couple friends of ours. There was only 3 other people there as we don't go at peak times because we have small children. Our older 4-year-old quietly played on her tablet and our younger 1 year old was snacking at a table and all times supervised. The owner, an older gentlemen who in all honesty, has always been unpleasant and not very hospitable to the customers, came over to us. He said "You need to keep your children quiet!"My husband and I, and our friends who are also parents were taken aback. Let me be clear- we are NOT those parents who go to nice restaurants with our kids and typically frequent children appropriate locations; honestly, the brewery scene now a days is very kid friendly. My husband, wanting clarity, and a frequent patron of this place, asked what was going on. In short, the owner told him "Your children are not welcome here".I wanted to share our story because we wanted to give a heads up to our community, especially those with children, about our experience, as we have seen other families there too. Let's be honest- parents with young kids want to get out too and, in our case, as most other parents with young kids, we frequent appropriate places and always supervise our children. In a community that we love, we're more hurt than angry about a Saturday tradition we used to look forward to.
