Casa Almenara

Decided to stop in after a walk with a friend in Piedmont. It's conveniently located at the intersection of 10th & Piedmont Ave. As we entered the establishment we were greeted & seated immediately by the host. The ambiance is nice, feels like a restaurant that would be located on the beach. The server took our drink orders immediately. I ordered water and the Cranberry Mimosa margarita and my friend ordered the Innocent sangria (mock tail - not pictured). The margarita was extremely refreshing (I opted to go without the fresh garnish). I wasn't hungry so I skipped the food. My friend ordered the Tres Tacos and rice and rated them a 4 out of 5. The restaurant was very clean and multiple staff checked in on us throughout our time in the restaurant.

This is one of those places that appears to you on TikTok, and honestly it was not what we were expecting, we were one of their first tables but the restaurant felt dirty, booths were full of hookah ashes, also the servers were arguing about some random thing very out loud that the whole restaurant could hear them, but we were in a rush to get on out to the airport so we decided to give it a try. My boyfriend ordered the chicken and waffles and I ordered the chilaquiles, they were both very average, nothing spectacular. But the thing that made me gave it 2 stars was that at the end they added the gratuity, and we were just a party of 2, that's INSANE. I work in hospitality and that's not okay.

I wanted to love this restaurant, but the lobster special that they do aggressively advertise on their website didn't exist, and the server acted like she never even heard of it. We ended up getting guacamole app, quinoa salad with shrimp and a seafood app. Salad was cold, including the shrimp, and the seafood stew didn't have any fish in it at all, just shrimp and mussels. Paloma drink was super light. They'll give you a shot on the house if you check in on yelp. There's parking outback but it fills up and no patio but they open the windows which allows for some great people watching. Not sure if we ordered wrong items, but I wasn't impressed.

This was my first visit to Casa Almenara with a friend. Situated in the heart of midtown, the building boasts a prominent sign advertising daily bottomless mimosas. Notably, upon checking in on Yelp, you can redeem a complimentary shot.Our server, David, was incredibly friendly and offered excellent recommendations. When I expressed a preference for a mocktail, he quickly provided a few suggestions. The size of the glass was surprisingly generous and quite filling. As an appetizer, we enjoyed the guac and chips. I opted for the steak burrito paired with potatoes for my meal, and it turned out to be exceptionally filling.The Tulum-inspired ambiance immediately sets the tone upon entering, and there's a cozy back lounge in the rear of the restaurant. One noteworthy aspect in the restroom is that the door is a bit small, which can make entering the stall a bit challenging.Overall, I'd recommend Casa Almenara!

The food was average but I do wish the tiktoks I saw prior to making a reservation lived up to the expectations for the meal. The service was so good and I loved the music that played as well. At night the restaurant turns into a club with the back area being a hookah bar/lounge. The drinks were great, food came quickly and it was all priced very well.

Excellent service from our waiter! The resturant is in a convenient location with free parking.contemporary decor, and spacious. Festive atmosphere.I enjoyed my dinner but felt the drinks & meal are a bit too pricey- the shrimp tacos should come with a side and not at an additional expense. Also, the cocktails are not necessarily worth the price as they were average cocktails and size.

Free parking, empty on a Wednesday at dinner time, and great service. The waiter was so nice and went out of business way to make it a great dining experience.I really loved that they gave us complimentary chips and salsa. I got the shrimp, birria, and rings tres tacos (one of each) and the shrimp tacos were amazing! The fajitas were also good but the steak a bit overcooked given that the pan continues cooking but plenty for leftovers the next day so good deal overall!

Overall 1/5: Casa Almenara takes the place of what used to be 10th & Piedmont. Sad to say it was not good in any aspect from food to service. My friends and I dined in to celebrate our friends 21st birthday, and were disappointed with our experience. Drinks 3/ 5: My friends and i came in for bottomless mimosas. The mimosas were fine, definitely worth the price, only con was that they were super sugary. While we were waiting for a table, we had some drinks at the bar. We watched the bartender pour almost a full bottle of the fruit purée into the carafe. Loaaaded with sugar. Food 1/5: The food was super bland. I had the chilaquiles, the chicken was super dry and had no flavor at all. My boyfriend had the chicken and waffles, which he said the chicken was also bland and the waffle was stale. The al pastor wings didn't taste authentic at all, the flavor profile was off. Service 0/5: On to the worst part of our visit, we had the rudest server. As soon as he walked up to us, it was nothing but unpleasant. We could tell he was not happy serving us, we were super friendly and engaging as a large party table. He barely acknowledged us, or said anything. He would look down at his ordering system when he was taking our orders, and not even say anything after we've ordered, not even a nod or an okay. We would sit in silence wondering if he heard us or not. (in most cases, he didn't!) We thought that was just who he was, but as we observed him, he went up to another table with the biggest brightest energy. Probably acted that way because he was already entitled to our automatic 20% large party gratuity ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Never said more than two words to us at a time, but watched him laugh and smile with another table as he greeted them. Super rude. Do not recommend. Will not return.Business owner has responded with legal action, no apology or accountability for our poor experience. I myself work in the industry and know what i saw and experienced. To be brushed off in this manner is truly unacceptable.

We were here for a bar crawl. We got into the space before it got really crowded. The space was not very big where the bar was, but the dining area was pretty spacious. There were two bartenders and they did their best to handle the influx of orders. One of them walked away after taking my friend's order and never came back. She stayed at the bar almost ten minutes waiting for her order. The brunch item we ate was a waffle and chicken tender. The chicken tender was good; could have had a bit more seasoning. The waffle was just okay. It was crispy and flaky, but nothing spectacular. As the restaurant got more crowded employees were walking people to an area in the back. I couldn't see that far back from where I was sitting, but it looked like an additional seating area. We enjoyed our drinks here and the ambience. The decor was really cute. It's right on the corner of a fairly busy intersection. We paid to park on the street.

Salih was a great host. The professionalism and the engagement was like no other! I recommend him any time you come! You won't be disappointed.
