Cute and charming decor. I love the marionettes hanging from the ceiling. Excellent breakfast burrito. I probably won't be hungry the rest of the day. On top of that, the service is outgoing and friendly. I think we found a new regular spot.

Ok lets talk Carmelo's, I used to go to Carmelo's all the time so much so that there is a photo of my brothers on the wall from when we were in swim team( i was to little) but if I'm being honest the food is ok, it taste super similar to Ruthies Tex-mex and if i remember correctly the queso USED to taste the exact same, but i think they changed the recipe because now it tastes way worse, overall the queso is subpar. the chicken is bland, now you may be thinking that i am trying to ruin there reputation but this is not true, the food is good for the price but you get what you pay for, the workers when i went were pretty rude and im not sure if any of them are even named carmello lol. overall decent food and ok service

Cute hole in the wall Tex Mex place in old Sugar Land. You can easily drive right by it. My mom suggested it as a casual family run place. We were served chips and salsa upon sitting down (my parents requested the green salsa with tomatillo and jalapeno). I preferred the red salsa. We decided to all share to try a bunch of stuff. My favorite was the shrimp enchiladas. Great sauce and a fair amount of shrimp. The beef enchilada was alright. Good amount of beef but I prefer more cheese and didn't love the sauce. The taco salad was a bit of a letdown. It was fine, not exciting. Decent amount of meat but with "fajita beef" I was expecting bigger pieces of meat rather than chopped up. My mom however appreciated the chopped aspect, easier to eat. The service was excellent, refilling the chips and drinks before they even got empty. Total cost was under $50, all three of us left stuffed.

This is a family owned business that I have been going to for a long time. It's a small place but has a great atmosphere and even better food. I am always treated very well. I have had the tacos Al carbon many times, flautas, beef nachos, quesadillas, tortilla soup, and much more. Today I decided to get some breakfast tacos, barbacoa, carne guisada, and a Carmelos mucho grande burrito. Everything was super good. Tortillas are homemade too! I couldn't eat it all, I shared with my family but I did take bites of each and it was well worth the calories. If you live in the area please give this place a try and who knows, it may be your go to spot for Mexican food. Buen Provecho!

We love Carmelo's and my wife and I share the Emily plate! When we are not feeling well it's the Tortilla soup! It's our local family restaurant!

This place is constantly on my mind, and my mind is already quite a cluttered mess at times.Carmelo's is truly everything you want in a Tex-mex spot. I've had their breakfast tacos, mixed meats quesadilla, horchata, and margs...I would reccommend these all 100% to a friend. Not very pricey, solid & classic taste, well flavored, and a very vibrant, cultural atmosphere. Their quesadillas were definitely a stand out, loved the cheese they mixed with the meet and it had this delightful bite!! Pairs great with their house made guac. My only complaint is for the price, I've had quesadillas that were way cheaper and much bigger. They cut up their quesadillas here into small pieces. Also the beef could've been a bit more seasoned. Their margs and horchata are delicious and sweet. I prepared myself for the sugar for sure. Would love to return.

Small place. The salsa is excellent. The beef fajitas were also very good. The margarita was horrible. I usually don't complain, but it is that bad. Turns out it's a wine-a-rita. What was really obnoxious was one of the workers was rolling silverware while watching and listening to some Mexican show.

Carmelos is my favorite lunch spot for clean food! Fresh ingredients, clean food and amazing service. This place feels homey and comfortable as the employees remember your face and get to know you. I love this restaurant and appreciate so many aspects of the business ran here. My specific details I ask for in my meals are never scoffed or done any less than amazingly! Safe to say money is well spent at this place, especially if you appreciate service and quality clean ingredients and people! Oh! And if you like a spicer sauce ask for the orange bottle.
