Great food, nice servers, they didn't run out of food, and they had people served and flowing...yes they did! By far the best Caribbean/Jamaican food restaurant I had in Philly (still collecting data and doing research lol). I can see why this place came highly recommended. This restaurant was previously dine in but due to Covid they are still take out only. They have the ordering area roped off to help patrons follow the direction of flow. There was a constant flow of people but social distancing was easily maintained. The lighting was a bit dim but themed well.I ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas, plantains, and collard greens and our other order was half jerk and half bbq wings with rice and peas, mac & cheese, plantains. Everything was amazing! The jerk was very spicy like I like it, plantains we're done perfectly, and not one item was disappointing. I got a medium and the serving was huge and was enough for 2-3 meals. The price was generally high but the ingredients are usually expensive but well worth it! Can't wait for my next meal from here!

Horrible service & Horrible food!!!! Will not be returning. Ordered the curry chicken lunch special with rice and beans and green beans because they were out of cabbage. The string beans were cold and taste like they dumped them directly from the can to my platter. Disgusting!!! Made me want to vomit. The Mac wasn't bad however I really don't understand why Caribbean's feast considers rice and beans as a side option when it typically comes with your choice of meat.

I got this food at the food truck and I must say it is pretty reasonably priced for the food that you receive. The jerk chicken did not come with the sauce on it, so I had to ask to have the sauce added to the chicken and it's not hot at all. The jerk chicken was more or less chicken breast and not actual meat that came off of the bone. The macaroni and cheese is below average and the cabbage did have any flavor to it at all. The fried plantains were pretty sweet but I did not think that they were fried to the best of their ability. Overall I think that the dish was pretty average. You get a lot of rice and beans more than anything; I wouldn't get again

This restaurant and the truck on 1515 Market are the same business. I've ordered all my food at the truck, and depending on who you get working there, your prices can vary greatly. The last time I went there and I was charged exactly $30 for 2 oxtails, which is exactly what was listed. I'm glad this guy was really transparent and was really nice. However, the times before I went the guy who worked there honestly did randomly math in his head and we just had to go with it because price signs were not up. Now there is a price list which is great. The 2 oxtails I got on Tuesday were tasty, meat fell off the bone, and tasted really good with the rest of the plate. The portions were really good for $15, although the bowl doesn't look like it, it does fit a lot. Price: $$ It's not cheap, but it's typical jamaican food pricing. Parking: Tough on market street as expected. Taste: Great, as expected.Service: Iffy, depending when you go. Would I come here again? Maybe, but I know there are better ones out there so I'm willing to try another place before coming back here.

I first saw this food cart last week and I was like "Ouuuu they make Caribbean food?? i gotta to give that a try at least once." I expected the seasoning to be slightly watered down since we're in center city, the portions to be a bit small because once again, its center city because I'm sure renting in a prime time spot isn't cheap for carts. Surprisingly, the portions weren't as small as I thought they would be and some of the platters were made ready-to-go! I'm used to neighborhood Caribbean spots running out of food fast or taking 20 min per order, but they were pretty fast and the price point was reasonable. ($8 with a free soda for jerk chicken, plantains, cabbage, and rice in a big bowl). They could've put way more plantains and cabbage in there instead of rice and beans, but the flavor was pretty solid. The chicken is boneless which was convenient imo.I'll def be back here to try the Oxtails and the beef patties. They were out of oxtails. As any good Caribbean spot should be. Pro tip: If you walk up to a Caribbean restaurant / food truck after 3 pm and they still have every single item on the menu available, turn back out the door lol all the good good spots run outta food early lol

Delicious authentic Caribbean food.Jerk chicken: perfect seasoning, very tender and moist. Fried plantain is not overly fried but it's not sweet. Bbq jerk chicken: delicious barbecue seasoning. I ordered take out and the sauce can spill over so be careful. The steamed cabbage has some kick of spice.

I bought an "oxtail platter" from the truck on 38th st. University City. $15.00 for a platter of rice. I visited the restaurant on Rising Sun plenty of times, no complaints. But I won't patronize the food truck. Also, pepper steak, spinach and collard greens were on the menu, but not available at the time of my visit, around 1pm.

The food here is awesome. I've gone quite a few times and they never miss! It's easy to find but parking is a bit of a challenge. You can order ahead if you're in a rush. The wait time is not bad at all. I love the jerk chicken and my favorite side is the plantains. You'll love eating here!

The food was ok. Not a place I'd ever come to again. The yams were actually burnt. I'll stick to my usual place.
