My father-in-law, a gourmet (with a hard "t"), told us that Caracas Bakery has the best croissant around. With that rave review, my husband and I knew we had to try it. Parking is extremely difficult in the little strip mall in which it's located. While the interior is decorated in a hip, modern style, tables sit occupied by folks on their laptops who have finished their meals or coffees quite a while ago. The staff is fine, not overly friendly, and not super knowledgeable of the pastries in the case. (When I asked what something was, they told me it was a guava "bampkin." It was a guava babka. But nonetheless, the croissant was delightful, the guava babka - inspired, the ham and cheese cachito - excellent, and the pan con tomate was expertly seasoned.I would come back, but just for take out.

I just want to start by saying that I'm in my "if you don't have something nice to say..." era. But this is a bit egregious. We arrived before 2pm, around 145pm the latest, we live less than 15 minutes away. Ordered a whole loaf of sourdough, drinks, a croissant sandwich, and salmon platter. I kid you not, we didn't receive the full order until 2:35pm. It took over 40 minutes to receive something that should've taken 10 minutes at most? The place wasn't busy. To add, my boyfriend was initially given the wrong order which was an item over $5 less expensive (the salmon toast as opposed to the platter). He's late to a rehearsal that is an hour away. This may seem petty, but we didn't realize we'd need to plan an hour of time to pick up a quick bite at a bakery? I would've chosen not to leave a review, except nobody acknowledged anything at any point in the 40+ minutes we were waiting. No apology, no acknowledgment, nothing. Once we started to get antsy (this was 25+ minutes in) they noticed and I over heard them say to each other in Spanish "that order takes a bit"... it's a croissant with egg, avocado, and a tomato. The bread was already made. The toast was incorrect but had it been correct was literally just toast with some spread and some salmon. It's just ridiculous. While we were waiting we even saw someone else receive their order who arrived much later than we did.I've been so excited to check this place out and start buying bread here. Cute spot. Guy who took our order was amicable. But if you mess up, just apologize and let people know instead of pretending nothing happened. Kinda crazy that it took over half an hour for someone to realize nobody had brought our food. Disrespectful and inconsiderate. Pictures are of the food we ended up having to take to go and the time we left. I checked the Ring camera to see when we left our place, it was 130. I am writing this review and just got home and it is 252 (10 minute drive). Wtf lol.I would literally not have left a review at all if one single person had just said "sorry for the mixup/delay", the smallest gesture. To the guy and girl who were working, please be more considerate of people and when someone looks obviously confused, check in with them. That's bare minimum hospitality.

Wow! As a Venezuelan, I was kind of skeptical about going to Caracas Bakery in MiMo (I tried the one in Doral, and the employees were super rude). Anyway, at the MiMo location, everyone was super nice and friendly. I love that they have tables where you can sit and work (which was my plan). I tried a palmerita, and it was not what I was expecting, but it was even better (the first bite was like, wow!). I also ordered an iced latte, which I loved. They also have different milk options.

The food is good but way overpriced. The service team improved in the last couple of months which is a big plus! I like the ambiance for a up to 3-4 people. Is not a place where to go for a date or with many friends. The design is elegant but with quite basic colors (beige, black, white) and is missing some soul. Overall is nice to have it in the neighborhood but not a must-go place.

The coffee was amazing and so was the guava and cheese pastry. The croissant breakfast sandwich was a 7/10. We didn't think it was worth the price but the place was nice and it had a good ambient.

I consider this a he said/ she said review, because my experience wasn't at the actual store but rather at the EeeeeatsCon food festival. Caracas Bakery and my hours never seem to sync. But when I saw their booth at the festival..I realized I need to put the effort into making my timeframe work. They serve this delicious Shakshuka Foccaccia that is the definition of chef's kiss. It kinda looks like a lasagna but is a light toasted yet airy focaccia bread seasoned with tomato sauce and topped with a yummy runny egg and ricotta cheese. A guava cruffin (croissant & muffin hybrid) with a generous helping of guava jelly and sprinkled powdered sugar gave me a sweet ending. Food like this makes me hope for a time my schedule will sync!

We had a delightful experience walking to and dining at the Caracas Bakery in the Mimo area during our visit to North Miami. It's a popular spot, especially on Saturday mornings. When you enter the bakery, the sounds of laughter, conversation, and children playing, along with the inviting aroma of coffee and baked goods, immediately greet you. Despite being busy, the service was prompt, and the food was hot and delicious. While I understand that reviews are subjective, I highly recommend stopping by Caracas Bakery if you appreciate fresh baked goods and good coffee in a cozy neighborhood bakery. Remember to take home some of their freshly baked sourdough bread, which makes fantastic grilled cheese sandwiches.

TLDR: I really wanted to love this place.. but the service, matcha, and price point...I'd still come back to study but I won't be running. DRINKS Iced Matcha with oat milk: I'd skip on the matcha here. There was still matcha chunks, which means whoever made it didn't know how to make matcha. The matcha quality was also average, judging by the not very green color and taste (though I know oat milk usually dulls down the color). They use Jojo tea matcha. Iced latte with almond milk: $7 a cup is a bit steep, but I'm used to those prices by now. Overall, a pretty standard latte, not something I'd run back for. I was just thankful the color wasn't too light. They use counter culture coffee. FOOD Mushroom toast: this was the highlight of my visit. While is was very yummy and loaded with mushrooms, it IS $17...AMBIANCE Came on a Monday morning around 10:30 and it was SUPER busy but I was able to snag a table after a couple of minutes. The foot traffic died down a bit by the time I left at 2:30, but it was still pretty busy. Just to keep in mind if you're planning to work here. SERVICE This is one of the main reasons why the 3 stars. The person taking orders made me feel like I was inconveniencing him, which was not very pleasant. Also, the servers just don't seem happy, but it might be because of how busy they are. Food and even drink service will take a bit (which is understandable given how busy they are).

Good music, great coffee and delicious pastries ... limited parking but it's worth to wait for a spot.
