I originally made reservations at this restaurant to celebrate my brother's birthday; however, as we were under a severe storm due to our impact from Hurricane Helene, I canceled the reservations and ordered the food to go instead. I ordered a variety of dishes: Calabash Choice of Two (Oysters, Flounder, Fries, and Coleslaw); Fisherman's Pasta; Fresh Catch Mahi Mahi (Asparagus, Roasted Potatoes, Pan Seared, Drawn Butter); Fresh Catch Salmon (Roasted Potatoes, Green Beans with Roasted Tomatoes, Medium Well, Pan Seared, Beurre Blanc); Fried Okra; Calamari Fritti. All dishes looked good and were enjoyed by the family. We were a bit surprised at how small the portion was for the mahi-mahi; however, my dad enjoyed it. All dishes were seasoned well, moist, and flavorful. We will return to this restaurant for a dine in experience at another time.

We were in the area getting our hair done (well, my wife had her hair done, I just went for a basic haircut), and the appointment lasted past our lunch time so we were famished. We didn't want to venture out too far so I scouted for places to dine and we saw this in Yelp and was encouraged by the great reviews it got so we took the plunge. The ambiance is very Cape Cod-ish or Hamptons chic. The east coast beach vibe is very attractive and I like it! But after noticing the decor my stomach reminded me very rudely why we were here. My wife's stomach's growl chimed in as well. So, here's what we decided to have:For appetizers we had the Calamari Fritti - solid A.For entrees we got:Shrimp Scampi - solid B+Fish n Chips Platter - solid B+For our drinks, my wife got pineapple juice (okay, nothing spectacular, B- grade) and I got their Pineapple Citrus Sangria (A-).For our dessert we got the Crème Brûlée. This got an A-.Overall 4 1/2 stars. Unfortunately, I can't grant that extra 1/2 star so I'll leave it at 4. We will definitely be back to try the rest of their fare. Service was great, efficient and friendly. But more importantly, prompt and attentive. Solid A. Postscript: This was not our first time at this restaurant chain. Early in 2022 we went to their other branch in 832 Spring Forest Rd Raleigh, NC 27609. I gave that experience 3 stars. I can't believe how different these two restaurants are. The creme brulee at Spring Forest Rd was substandard. This one at the Village District was leaps and bounds better. Not to mention so much closer to us.

Service very good 8 out of 10, food quality 10 out of 10 had the shrimp and grits, grits were perfectly seasoned, shrimp also perfect ( not a lot of shrimp there was only 3 pc. ) Gravy amazing taste. There is no rolls or bread served with the meal. Find this to be a poor value. Ordered bread on the side. Wait 10 minutes, so not completely happy with service. Now my waitress, a 10 out of 10. She was a attentive she was friendly, and I recommend having Dana as your waitress.

Our waiter - amazing. Food- AMAZING!!! I ordered the lobster/shrimp risotto bowl, and to start we had okra and calamari. Dessert was blueberry cobbler and crème brûlée. The creme brûlée was better in my opinion. Loved the whole experience though. Can't wait to go back!

Dinner around 6p on a rainy Saturday and the restaurant was crowded. There were 8 of us so we would have a long wait for a table. So there was space for all of us at the bar...so bar it was! The two wait staff were very friendly and started on our beverages quickly. Then we were ready to order after about 15 minutes. Actually sitting there was fun and pretty comfortable. I had the shrimp and grits. It had a good seasoned flavor and reasonable amount of medium size shrimp but not enough grits for me. It was probably about one fourth cup of grits and all these shrimp and sauce. I'm used to the grits at least covering the bottom of the bowl.of course I ate all the grits and had leftover shrimp. I enjoyed the flavor. Everyone else raves about their meals taste and portion size. Anyway I've eaten at both Raleigh locations several times and will go back.

Cape Fear is easily one of our favorite seafood restaurants in the area. We have never had a bad experience here and we've dined at both locations often. Their food is excellent and always super flavorful and hot. You can't go wrong with anything you choose- we've tried 10+ menu items and loved every one. Some of our favorites include the crab dip, risotto, shrimp and grits, and shrimp burger.Along with great food, the service is amazing too. Our server Shea was so bubbly, helpful, and patient while we looked over new items to try out. Good service is always memorable and goes a long way, so definitely request her as your server if you can! The restaurant is nice and casual with a good bar. You won't have to spend too much and don't have to come dressed up. If you're looking for delicious seafood with good portions and won't let you down, definitely go here.

Wonderful brunch today! I had the mini crab cake appetizer and a mixed green salad, oh and a house mimosa! All were delicious. One of my friends got the Eggs Benedict brunch item and the eggs were perfectly poached! I will definitely be back! Our server was a delight!

Delicious anniversary lunch at Village District's Cape Fear Seafood. Fancy drinks to celebrate with Lavender Lemon Drop and a packed Bloody Mary. We ordered crabcake appetizer which were excellent. I had the Mahi with mango chutney, orzo and grilled asparagus. My husband ordered the Shrimp Diablo. The huspuppies were also amazing! It was a wonderful experience. Thanks to Zahna, our waitress for making it a special day!

Tried to get a table for my parents and me at their old location and got attitude and condescending remarks from the hostess. Haven't felt so insulted in a very long time... at a local seafood restaurant that has no Michelin or other stars tied to it. You weren't "ITB" then and there is absolutely no need to be that way if someone could have been prepared to spend upwards of $200 at your establishment.
